Almost got in a big fight with some scary looking locals… I admit I was very scared and got the hell outta there as quick as I could.

Best dive bar in South Redondo! Cheap, strong drinks. Pool table, jukebox. Nice neighborhood atmosphere! Loads of regulars.

Friendly bartenders, hole in the wall place to go have a beer and play pool. Could be much better with live music! Only complaint I would have, and it’s a big one, is the cigarette smoking. The people sit at the OPENDOOR smoking so all the smoke comes in, so the place smells like an old bowling alley and the worst part is the smokers throw all their cigarette butts on the ground and in the gutter. Mind you, this bar is a block from the beach so all these butts are headed straight out into the ocean. This is unacceptable in this day and age, wake up people. Be adults and be responsible!

The beauty of Unilocal is that a hole-in-the-wall dive with a random crowd, okay drinks and dingy atmosphere can get high ratings. That being said, drinks are stiff, bartenders are sweet, and we always have a good time. Lots of locals and music depends on who’s controlling the jukebox. They have an animal claw machine that you can actually win, and they have naked photo hunt on the game machines at the bar.

What a fun place! Annie is awesome and the locals are great. Opens early and just cool cats!

This place is our favorite dive. We love the bartender Michelle. She is so sweet to everyone. And ya the place may seem a little strange, but we come back because it is never overly crowded, the drinks are strong and cheap and you can have a conversation with friends(and actually hear the person sitting next to you!)

Pretty dive-y spot. $ 4.50 beers. Should be a buck cheaper.

Is this place ever divey. I can imagine from time to time you could run into trouble here. Generally, good mix of people. Reminds of the country song I Love This Bar. The regulars all know each other. Drinks are reasonable. Service is good. If I lived in Redondo beach this would be my local hang out.

Pat’s seems a little shady when you’re pulling into their parking lot at 11PM… But once you get inside, it isn’t so bad. I came to Pat’s on a spur of the moment to meet a friend. It’s located in a pretty decent part of Redondo, right by the beach. However, the parking lot and building are kind of eh. The inside wasn’t too much better. It’s not the cleanest of all places. The bar is filled with a younger crowded, so that was nice. They had multiple games, including pool which is also very nice. The girl who waited on me most of the night was very friendly. You could tell maybe she was new or just confused as she got my order mixed up and charged me the wrong amount. However, she worked quickly to resolve the issue and was more than apologetic. The other girl working at the bar wasn’t as pleasant. She looked pissed to be there. At one point I needed another drink and waited for about five minutes while this girl just stood there. We made eye contact multiple times, but still no response. I would have understood if she were in the middle of another task or helping other guests, but I don’t believe that was the case. Pros Fun environment and young crowd Cheap drinks! Cons Employees: I understand we don’t all love our jobs, but do not show it. You’re getting paid for a reason and it’s not to make your guests feel unwanted. Wasn’t as clean as I would hope for

This place is great for what it is — a local dive bar with pool, darts, good music, and friendly bar tenders. Also ample parking and walking distance to the beach.

This place was always fun. Grew up in this bar as a young adult. Then it changed. New owners I think. Got beyond seedy for a dive bar. My guy friends even didn’t feel safe and they could take care of themselves. Going out for a beer and having to watch your back is not fun. Then two guys killed the doorman. He was so nice. Never going back

The people are friendly the prices are super cheap and fun with the pool tables and dart boards. I used to be an amazing pool player so I need to get my skills back! Two great restaurants next door and happy hour is two to seven ! Save money and meet some new friends ! They also have several flat screen TV’s so you can watch your favorite games!

Looking at this place, I have a bad feeling there’s going to be a fight. Especially what happened to that bouncer. Don’t ever come here.

Careful. This place is realllll seedy. Was around when a fight broke out, police were called and man taken to away in an ambulance. I like dives, but not worth stressing about your life. Update 12 – 2012 — they need to close this place down.

Pat’s is a reliable dive where you what you see is what you get. No gimmicks or specials… or posers for that matter. Just South Bay regulars who like to have a drink and a few laughs. It’s a mixed bag at Pat’s, with drinkers of all ages playing nicely together, but you can be guaranteed a relaxed vibe. Michelle always takes very good care of us!

I think I’ve just got to the point where I’ve been often enough to piece together the fragments of nights into one coherent memory. The drinks are stiff, cheap, and good! Just like the mattress in the motel room you’d like to take the barmaids too. Make no mistake, this, is a BAR.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I hate the drugged up bartenders but i like the strong drinks but i hate being accosted by the staff at the front door with questions like«where are you from?» i live a couple blocks away, i love dive bars and can’t stand any of the yuppy holes around here. but can’t quite bring myself to go here more than a couple times a year.

So there are dives, and there are dives. Some serve only beer and wine, some have no taps(just bottled beer, or bottled beer and mixed drinks), and some might as well be dry. This is a dive’s dive, with no taps — just 20+ different bottled/canned beers/ale, including PBR tall boys(24-ounce Pabst Blue Ribbon, for the uninitiated) and Miller High Life for a nice retro touch. And mixed drinks with some interesting options up on the backlit shelves. Tuaca body shots, anyone? Oh, come on — you know you want to. Strong drinks, pleasant staff, plenty of tvs, good jukebox, a couple of pool tables, and guys with their girlfriends studiously playing nekkid picture matching video games. As opposed to playing video games nekkid. That’s a different bar. This is a comfortable place with some definite quirks. If you’re allergic to smoke, sit in the back as there’s a curious smoking alcove in the front which, given that the wind tends to blow off the ocean most of the time, means that the smoke travels into the bar. If you park in the back, be prepared for a walk down an oddly long hallway — fine, unless you’re claustrophobic or jumpy. Amusingly, I’ve never seen so many froo-froo drinks poured in my life and consumed by folks that look like they haven’t done time — this week, that is. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. For $ 4.50 a drink(less at happy hour), things could be worse. There’s ample free parking, and you can actually have a conversation while the jukebox plays. Those two differentiators put this dive way ahead of numerous dives in the beach cities already. Thumbs up. It’s hard to get that authentic dive bar, comfortable vibe down — unless of course you’ve found an authentic dive bar with great prices and a good crowd. That would be Pat’s II.

I wrote a review stating how much I liked this bar. After last night, I am no longer a fan. I have had an issue with this certain bartender before and I will no longer go in on her shifts. On my last visit I asked her for my tab total. What happened? She closed me out. Not only did she close me out, but she GAVEMETHEWRONGTOTAL — so she reversed it to only recharge me the right check. So I have one REAL transaction and one that isn’t mind and«will be dropped within 72 hours» — Yeah, I was pissed. The totals equaled $ 170.00!!! So, fast forward to last night. I forgot about the incident above, went in with some out of town friends and the place was packed! Cool! Played darts, ordered libations, put some tunes on the juke. 3 songs into our $ 10 worth of music, this bartender girl(yes, the same one) FASTFORWARDED our music!!! WTF?! So we go up to the bar and she said«Oh sorry, I thought they left»…There were 50 people in there! How did she know WHO put that on?! She refunded our $ 1. Still NOTOK! Played some more darts. I asked her what my bar total was… I see her computing and SWIPE!!!(are you kidding me?) I, of course waved her down to explain I didn’t want to CLOSE(didn’t need a repeat) and thank god she wasn’t swiping MY card. Phew… I did have a bit of a freak out, WHOWOULDNT?! She didn’t say, I’ll be back with your total or lemme check it out… I just don’t think I will be going back. Its a shame too cuz I like this place. Well, maybe I will go back, just not on the weekend evenings…

Basic well drink: $ 4 Booze to mixer ratio: freakin awesome How quickly you’ll get plastered: quickly Crowd: diverse and laid back This sure as hell ain’t Hollywood, and that’s why I love it. Super casual — come as you are and get ready for a some good cheap drinks — how much fun you have is up to you. This bar has more of a «I’m coming here to drink» vibe as opposed to really social or «fun» /«young» atmosphere. A lot of people just chilling. Great place. I sure do love me a good dive bar.
