I was referred to SELF through a friend who had been going there for a long time. Not knowing to much about the fitness world, I said let me try it out. Signed up for my first free class and was hooked. I never felt so sore in my life! Tiffany, Michelle and Kate are amazing trainers that push you and kick your butt (if you need that group setting to get you motivated this is your place). They truly believe in you and are the most motivating women I have had the privilege to workout with.
Classes are different every day and and have you guessing what will be next. I am one to always give up and they don’t let you. If you are looking for a fitness facility that will push you then this is the place. I have been going for 5 months now and my results are amazing and I never thought it could ever happen.
Thank you to these amazing girls and their encouragement to keep me coming every day!

I love this place! There’s never a dull moment during the workout. Music is awesome and gets you pumped to work out. Workouts are always different so it doesn’t feel like you’re doing repetitive boring workouts. I love that I really sweat and feel like I really worked hard every class!

5 Stars for workout! I always feel sweaty and accomplished after leaving here! I really like how the HIIT workouts are set up.
If you’re looking for a community and overly involved instructors — this isn’t the place. Everyone keeps to themselves — you get in, you get out. That’s how I like it, but I know for a lot of people that isn’t the case. I am sure if you are a member or frequent class goer, you build relationships! The instructors usually do the workouts with you, and aren’t walking around fixing form or urging you on.
This gym is a perfect don’t — judge — a — book — by — it’s — cover. Nothing fancy, but really gets the job done!

Wow, this studio continues to impress me. I first came in August and I could barely keep up and had to take so many breaks. Yesterday I took Kate’s class and powered through the whole class without stopping. The classes are extremely challenging and will test both mind and body. It is so effective though and I felt amazing all day afterwards ! (And a little sore too). Michelle’s classes are also very intense and they are so good about keeping you motivated to keep pushing through. I haven’t tried tiffanys class yet but I only hear great things. This place is a real gem and I can see why their little community is so tight knit and loyal. Keep it up gals your gym is amazing!

I wasn’t a fan at all — I went using classpass because all the fabulous reviews on here and was shocked that the experience wasn’t up to par.
The girl teaching the class never asked me my name (nor did I know hers), or acknowledged that it was my first time there and I may not know where all the equipment is etc. This was really frustrating as I was struggling to find some stuff mid-​workout. She was too busy chatting up another girl before class started… literally talking about how much they partied and got drunk that weekend. Personally I found this really annoying. I am a tolerant person and always give people the benefit of the doubt but experience sucked so much it turned me off of the workout itself — which was decent.
Also, the place was little and crammed too and the music was not good. I guess maybe there is nothing better in the area, or maybe I caught the instructor on an off day where she was too hungover to care about students that were not her friends.

I’ve taken a class here a about a month ago and don’t know know why I didn’t review it. Well, here I’am writing about my awesome experience at this studio which my friend invited me to go. I was not in the mood to do anything crazy as I felt very lazy to workout that day. My friend described this class as a «light exercise» workout and I decided to give it a go. This «light exercise» was not light at all. This was a full body workout with running included. I wanted to murder my friend when we started running on the tread mills but Im so glad he brought me along as I felt so much better by the end of class. Our instructor was so nice and very encouraging throughout the whole class to push it through to the end.

I have been a member of this gym for just over a year and it has completely changed the way I feel about exercise. I actually enjoy working out — never thought I’d say that!
These workouts will kick your butt in the best way! Classes are always fun and varied, with different routines and equipment incorporated to HIIT workouts. You will never be bored and you will always be sore! I always feel challenged and so far this has paid off in the changes I’ve seen in my body. There’s no biggest motivator than feeling strong give this place a try and you will see the changes too!

One year later and I’m still obsessed with this place! I’m not always perfect but over the last year I’ve been the most consistent with exercise than I’ve ever been in my life! Tiffany & Kate are truly amazing people who care about every single person who takes their classes. I’m at least 7 pounds down but have way more muscle, endurance and strength. Tiffany and Kate are wonderful human beings. Tiffany has always been kind and extremely helpful when it comes to reaching my personal fitness goals. My personal training experience has been going on for 5 months now — every workout is different and kicks my butt. Michelle is amazing as well. All these women know what it takes to be healthy and fit. SELF fitness has changed my life!

Hands down the BEST work out in the Southbay! Tiffany is the kindest but toughest trainer I’ve ever had. It’s a thorough cardio and weight work out and everyday is a different work out so you’ll never get bored. They always follow up with a weekly news letter that provide delicious recipes and juices, so if you’re looking to see results, feel healthier and happier, you’ll need to book your first class asap!

BEST fitness studio, hands down! You think you’re in shape until you take one of these classes. Mark my words — you WILL be sore, but you’ll feel so amazing and accomplished. Every class is different, so you never get bored of the same routine. Tiffany & Kate are both so sweet, talented, and super motivating. For such good quality and challenging classes, you honestly can’t beat the prices either. Just try one class (it’s free) and you will fall in love!

Tiffany is the best! My coworker and I have been seeing her for personal training for around four months now and I can definitely feel the difference. Seriously, the improvement between our first session and now has been amazing. Tiffany also gives great nutrition advice (that I really need to start following more strictly!!!). I’ve take a few of the regular classes too and those are also really tough. I wish I lived closer so I could come everyday. But the few times a week I do make the trek are always worth it!

If you want an easy workout, this is NOT for you. If you want results, then check it out. I first tried it out with a groupon along with a ton of other groupons for local fitness places. SELF is a true gem. No other place was as welcoming or fun. Everyone has been cool and supportive, not pretentious.
This place is high intensity, but intervals are short, so your hour goes by quickly.
Just a few highlights: workouts are always different to constantly shock your muscles, their music keeps you pumped, trainers know their s**t, there is always plenty of parking, it’s clean, they use a variety of equipment (TRX, weights, bosu, sliders, equalizers, treadmills, kettle balls, rope, etc…) the classes are small (14 max), and best of all, you get results.

I was not a easy person when comes to a workout routine UNTIL i found S.E.L.F fitness!
What make me quit, get tired and desmotivated is to do the same workout over and over again. At SELF your workout will not be the same you did the days before. The trainners/​owners are always changing the classes, using a lot of diferente equipments and pushing their clients to go a little bit further each time.
If you’re not sure, try it! After my first class (free), there wasn’t any «push» from the great trainners/​owners for me to sign with them.
I got to say that I really like SELF fitness and I really recommend it!

SELF is the best fitness studio ever! Tiffany is the most motivated and caring trainer I’ve ever met, she’s always educating herself in what’s new and uses it in her classes. I’ve gone to too many studios and am very picky, but this studio is clean and has new equipments. The energy she puts in her classes you feel for days after you’ve taken her classes! Try a private class with her too, it’s AMAZING!

SELF is the best!
I was going to Spectrum in Redondo Beach and felt like I was wasting money. Classes didn’t fit my schedule and I never pushed myself hard enough.
Then I found SELF through Instagram and was excited to see the studio was so close to home.
The classes are challenging, there’s always parking and I’m always happy after the workouts.

I found SELF Fitness through a groupon and after my first visit I knew I would join. It was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Early morning classes, close to my apartment, small yet inviting. Some small gyms can be intimidating because everyone knows each other. The ladies here are sweet and know how to kick butt and kick your butt to make you sweat. You will never get bored. They change up the workout every day and an hour surprisingly goes by really quickly. I remember my first few classes, I almost ate shit on the treadmill but you get accustomed to using it. I was so sore after my first class which happened to be abs and arms day. It was also that time of the month so I couldn’t decipher which pain came from which source– aunt flow or the workout.
They don’t just mindlessly teach classes; they provide encouragement and also a philosophy on how to live a healthy, happy lifestyle. I think that’s what sold me. Those big chain gyms are not very motivating. It just seems so testosterone driven and that’s not my cup of tea.
I like how SELF Fitness celebrates women of all body types. We’re all in this journey to a happy, healthy lifestyle together. I’m not trying to get rock hard abs or anything. My goal is to be active, fit, and get stronger. Right now I am doing the 1 month unlimited classes but once that is up, I am signing up for autopay!

It’s been a while. Finished my move and looking to get an Elite ranking this year, kind of a resolution.
Tried a class at SELF with a friend and had a lot of fun. I was sore for days, but it was worth it! Fitness, also a resolution.
Tiffany was our instructor and she was kind/​mean at the same time. I worked up a sweat and my legs felt like mush by the time I left.
Not 100% that I am signing up, still getting used to the area, but I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

DJ Bernie spun the 1’s & 2’s for our enjoyment. He does it just for fun.
Attendees had the opportunity to enter a $ 1 raffle, benefitting Marley’s Pet Stop Rescue
Speaking of pets, Kelly the golden retriever, made everyone go «Awwwwwwwwwwwww».
Deep Eddy Vodka provided the libations for everyone to indulge. The ruby red grapefruit vodka & sweet tea vodka were crowdpleasers.
Silvio’s Brazilian BBQ treated everyone to their amazing food

Assorted fruit, salad, rice & veggies
Chicken & tri-​tip (The tri-​tip was medium-​rare magnificence)
I had a wonderful time learning about S.E.L.F. Fitness and networking with others
Kelly was happy chomping on her bone (and people’s feet & dresses ;p)
