If you are looking for a quick lunch-time fix for«Americanized Chinese» then look no further. The food here is reasonably priced and plentiful. Going to keep this review short and simple. If you are just in the mood for some«comfort food» on a budget, then this is a good place to visit. After trying several of their lunch specials, I can say that they all taste pretty good. The food is also prepared very quickly which is great when you are trying to beat the lunch-time rush.

Hands down my favorite place to get Chinese food. Fried rice is literally perfect, never greasy and always tastes so fresh(also they put lots of shrimp in the shrimp one which is hard to come by). Generals chicken is one of my go to’s as well. Also customer service is fantastic, always so kind and generous and as you come more often they get to know you. I live in Sunnyvale but my family is willing to take the drive just to visit our favorite place. If you can eat in, I highly recommend it since the food is even better when fresh & hot :-)

Ordered take out– Chicken Chow Mien — the chicken felt great. was not dry. The cabbage and the vegetables seemed fresh. Best part– they made it in 3 minutes. I’ll come back again.

Ambience is crummy, so I almost didn’t come in. Food is fresh, I love the spices, prices are low, the owner/waiter is a character. I had Kung Paol chicken and Wor Wonton Soup. Excellent!

Called in order for pick up and what a rude Mother@#$%^* «it’s not on the lunch menu okay! …so because it’s not on the lunch menu he is going to ask me «do you still want it»!!! Last call I am making to this place

Simply put — descent Chinese food prepared quickly. Not bad, and not great. It is true that the waiters are a bit short with folks, rushed, impatient and occasionally rude, but for me that’s part of the overall experience…

Wow, love this restaurant… We’ve been going here for years. Best Chinese food in Redwood City. They have a great delivery service and your food always shows up hot. The dumplings and the eggrolls are a must. And finally a Chinese restaurant that makes a Mongolian beef with a bit of a kick.

The food is good(General Chicken, Sesame Shrimp) but what i don’t like at all is the customer service. The waiter is very rude, you can’t ask any questions because he starts giving you attitude. Also once you are done eating he is pushing you and wants you to leave asap. As many other Chinese business this place doesn’t offer a detailed receipt which mean they don’t report all the sales for tax purposes.

Portions: Average Price: Low Food Quality: Poor I got the Mongolian beef, the meat didn’t taste like beef but similar to seasoned fat(best I can describe it). One of my friends got the orange chicken, never thought I would say this, but I think Panda’s is a lot better. Another friend got chow fun, the best choice out of us 3, but still super plain. She said her dish wasn’t ‘memorable’ and she found a hair in it. Also, I second the comments below, the fried rice is basically white rice with a dash of soy sauce.

The food is fair, for the price they charge, but the service is horrible. They bark at you and then get the order wrong. They act like you’re bothering them, instead of supporting their business. A great place to eat if you don’t care about horrible service.

The food is okay. Sucks the dont let you choose food like half chaomein and half fried rice … and please at least try to smile when you see a customer. First thing thing they tell you is «for here or to go» please be a little more kindly.

Above average Chinese restaurant with friendly staff. Décor is nothing special. They do have a variety of specials, somewhat pricey, approx $ 8 – 17 per entrée. I got the Mongolian beef which was about average, asked to make it spicey, which they did. Did not come with rice, had to pay extra for that which isn’t usually the case. It cane with a decent amount of meat and an abundance of onions. I will say they were very quick with my order. I also has been craving crab Rangoon or won tons and thought at worse the fried won tons would be imitation crab with cream cheese but they were just fried shells filled with nothing. Overall decent spot with friendly staff, average food.

Delicious. Good amount of food. Fast service. Ordered General Tso’s Chicken, sweet and sour pork, chicken corn soup, salt and peppered fish fillet. Dont forget the combination fried rice! Small place, but there is still room to eat next to your company. You can watch them cook the food too!

Delivery. Mongolian beef, fish in garlic I think, generals chicken, beef chow fun and bbq pork fried rice. Everything was really tasty and the portions were huge. I think too much for 2 adults and a kid lol. But their minimum delivery is $ 40 so I had to. The food wasn’t greasy like some people had suggested. I’d say this is one of the best chinese foods I’ve had in a while around the peninsula/southbay.

I come here so often because it’s literally right across the street from my office and I hardly have time to walk anywhere else to grab food. I like that you can order online and either pay online or when you pick up at the restaurant. I’ve only ordered the Wor Won Ton soup($ 9.01 after tax), which is decent. The soup is loaded with chicken, beef, wontons, and veggies and it always comes out piping hot, but the wontons could use more meat and the broth less salt. Always so thirsty after I eat his haha. It always fulfills my craving of hot soup though and the staff is always super nice. They also have a lot of other Chinese dishes available, which I’ll probably try at some point when I’m too lazy/busy to walk anywhere else.

This restaurant essentially serves stir-fried dishes over rice. Even though they spoke Mandarin, most of the dishes are Cantonese and typical Chinese foods known to average Americans. Had fish fillets with black bean sauce over rice(you can have it with fried rice). While the taste was acceptable(3 stars), the steamed rice was clumpy and had chunks of slightly browned and hard rice. Service was abrupt. Was charged for tea. Experienced service similar to Reviewer Erica P. Probably OK if you happened to be near Veterans Blvd and need a quick bite of plate rice. Not much more than that. Prices are high for what you get. Most plate rice dishes are over $ 7. Above market for this kind of food. Quantity was average, so, not bargain.

Its good food, and they do give you a lot, but somehow, I had bad gas… in fact, I still have it after seven hours of eating yellow noodles with chicken. Don’t get me wrong, the food was tasty with a good amount of vegetables and chicken and the portion was big. I believe, though, there was a lot of oils or something because my powerful blows were incredible!!! Now, if you are used to eating lots of oils, this will be the place for you. I do like Chinese food once in a while, but I’ve never been to a place were my bowels just couldn’t handle the grease and junk. I’ve been to Coutching Tiger and idumpling and I do not get that feeling after. Anyway, pick up was not problem for my friends, so, I cannot review the building itself nor the service, other than the fact that I got my food. Overall: good food, good price.

I’ve been looking for good Chinese food in the bay area for a year now(San Jose, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Campbell, Marin, San Francisco, etc) and so far this restaurant in Redwood City is my favorite. Let me first start off by saying what my three criteria for good Chinese food is: The food is good. The portions are plentiful. The prices are a great value. These are the only criteria for me that matter for Chinese food. It has to taste great, offer me leftovers and cost me around $ 20-$ 30 maximum. I saw that there were a few bad reviews left here about customer service and all I can say is if you go into any Chinese restaurant and expect great customer service, you’ll be disappointed the majority of the time. It’s like going to a thrift shop. You expect it to be a little grungy and not polished but you’ll find some great stuff at a good price. You go into Chef Chen’s thinking«I’m going to eat a lot of tasty food» and you’ll be fine. It is more of a take-out type of place to begin with.

Ok me and my hubby are always in search for GOOD Chinese food … Especially if they serve our favorite Chicken Egg Foo Yong !!! We want it … We crave it being from LA and NYC… We’re in search of egg foo Yong … So I was reaching our dinner tonight while I was in Redwood City. I must admit I was very happy to see Chef Chen serve our food in a Chinese box because that seems to be a lost art! 5 stars for that. Now for the food … Listen, we grew up in the Chinese food mecca Los Angeles and New York City … My hubby and I know good Chinese food and unfortunately Chef Chen didn’t pass the grade! Egg Foo Young has the ingredients in the omelet and the gravy is the star! Traditional American Chinese is what we’re craving! We were disappointed as the omelet didn’t have the chicken in the patty but the chicken was in the gravy! Not happy !!! I give them 5 stars for customer service as the owner and chef were pretty funny and my food was ready in no time !!! I also ordered the chicken wings and asked for them extra crispy .,. and they were not crispy enough… One star … Lastly got the beef fried rice without peas and carrots … 3 stars… Chef Chen 2 stars !!!’ Sorry
