This place sucks. they only have one cashier available n 1000 ppl in lane n when you can’t find something no one is available…

Ok. I generally avoid Kmart for obvious reasons. I’m honestly surprised this place even stays open as most have closed anyway. I needed one simple item and instead of making the trip to target I figured Kmart was closer and quicker. My fiancé and I ended up grabbing a few other items. I laugh as my fiancé calls Kmart «came-​apart». Anyway. We get in line to pay. We are the only people in the line behind one person paying at the register. Several minutes later and a backed up line of people behind us we finally get to pay for our items. The lady ringing up our purchase was odd and said not one word to us. And we had to go through several steps just to pay. A simple purchase that should take a minute at most. But not when it asks to donate and for your rewards BS and whether you want a receipt emailed blah blah blah. Then to swipe your card a second time. Why? I have no idea! Seriously? As we turn to leave, we see the lady who had taken forever ahead of us to make a lay away payment on her purchase, working a check stand herself. An employee. Really? You allow employees to create and hold up a line to take care of her personal business? Again, I’m not surprised why this store is hanging on by a thread! I wish Unilocal had a NO star option because that’s what It would be!

Glaciers recede faster than the service lines. Be prepared for a 15+ minute wait at checkout.

Terrible costumer service. Cheap price for low quality item. TARGET is way better than this place

I don’t get why people are complaining… First of all Kmart is cheap compared to other stores. Please realize its retail at its lowest so the employees don’t really care about customer service. If it’s cheap people will keep going back to shop.
Kmart has huge makeup department and hair care and grooming products. They also have lots of nice shoes and clothing. They have Nicki Minaj line too.
The restrooms have only one stall and they are always gross, that they should take care of. But some employees are friendly. They are just doing their job. The managers are nice to me.
I think Kmart should reward and promote Lucas. He is new and he has exceptional customer service skills. I believe he’s white, he was wearing glasses. I had $ 8.00 in points, he honored them. He also took the time to answer any questions that I may have? As well as look up and show me the screen as to what categories I have points in. He genuinely cared, that made me feel really good. He also informed me to always check receipt and coupons given to me.
Only problem is sometimes Kmart says you have points. You go to pay and they say points are not in system yet or they expired. Or you cannot get items on discount with points. But other than that Kmart is good.

My husband and I were shopping here Sunday 11−8−15 between 5:45 and 6:30pm. While we were in the little girls section a Spanish worker with long hair at little Caesars was extremely disrespectful. While he was cleaning up he was on the phone arguing with someone using all types of profanity and nigga this nigga that in front of everyone in that area without a care. This was so rude. I usually wouldn’t ever want to see anyone lose their job but he don’t deserve one acting the way he did.

Purchased shoe holder, got home and opened it to find out it was missing the hanger piece!
The store is in need of TLC.
Did not have as many items as I thought it would.
Check out took a while even with a couple of cashiers on a week day early afternoon.

I actually really like kmart. They have great selection with socks, makeup, and clothes. I think you guys should go now because stuff has improved. Always great place to get quick buys. Everyone is always friendly to me.

Terrible!!! I have purchased 4 things in the past week that were either used and/​or broken!
1.Men’s electric face trimmers= trimmers appeared used, phone charger in replace of the trimmer charger, broken blade cover, and missing nose hair trimmer (random)
2.coleman lantern=never opened– doesn’t work
3. Kids playdoh candy set= used
and decker juicer = broken clip that closes lid
I’m not sure if this store is just giving up or they just need to do some firing and hiring but something needs to change!!! I will be going to talk to a manager today, let’s see if they can convince me to still shop at there «second hand» store.
Well talking to the manager got me a «sorry» after waiting 15 mn to talk to her. Thanks got nothing Kmart!!! You just lost a customer but I’m sure your used to that

Well. This place is definitely a throwback machine, and it also includes the very strange clientele that go here. But I mean, KMart does have most things that you would need, right? So it’s not all bad? I would definitely go to Target down the street though, hands down.
I came here to buy some milk, and I got milk. I thought $ 5/​gallon was a bit steep (I’m used to paying like $ 3 or something), but hey milk is milk.
The cashier kind of had some B.O. going on there, which was a booooo.

I like this KMart location a lot, despite it’s obvious shortcomings.
The store is kind of dingy and I get a pervading sense of doom that its closing is near. It’s a bit of a cliché at this point, but stepping inside this store feels like entering a time machine to 15 years ago. On the other hand, it’s usually not busy, there’s ample parking, it’s open late (10 pm), and the employees are surprisingly diligent and courteous.

Personally, I’m a Target nut, but if I go here with someone, I’ll buy whatever I need to. But Target is definitely the best discount store around wherever you go.

Filthy store, checkout lines take forever and too many lazy people works here. Will never go back again!

Anybody that gives this store more than two stars needs professional help. Seriously they haven’t invested ONE PENNY in updating the 1977 décor with its bubbling up linoleum and dirty dated fixtures. The outdoor garden department looks so understocked and deserted you’d expect to see tumble weeds blowing by.. Unfortunately the moral of the employees matches the depressing atmosphere. You will likely celebrate a birthday waiting in the slow-​as-​molasses check out lines too. If this place actually had cheap prices I might be able to forgive some of its multiple shortcomings… but it does NOT. How it continues to exist in its current state is the 8^th wonder of the world.

I will never visit this place for any reason ever again. people are rude, long lines, slow checkers, dirty store, nothing is marked correctly, ask questions and they direct you to the wrong section, or don’t know what the hell the item is.
went for stocking stuffers… everything is over priced… went to big lots instead.
Need more training for their employees in hospitality… The health department is needing to check into this places code violations… too much aisle blocking.

Well, I don’t have a K-​Mart near where I reside, so since I just happened to be in the Peninsula one day, I was just curious about this Kmart. So old, outdated, dilapidated, and not really much else to write about. Service must be pretty bad too, from what other Unilocalers have pointed out. No wonder Kmart has been struggling to keep their stores open in recent years. On the brighter side, some of their stuff is inexpensive.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! Stores dirty, high prices, LONG lines. Customer service ladies are both uneducated and rude. I went in to return a pool I bought for my younger sister. There were three customers ahead of me and I was in line for over 20 minutes! They didn’t apologize for the wait or even acknowledge it! I barely got hello.
News flash ladies, if you hate your job then QUIT. Managers are not friendly at all and just complicate things more. Store manager is even worse. I’d rather drive 10 extra minutes through the middle of traffic to get to Target then return to this dump. Shut down already!

without «sugar-​coating» this review (and a one-​star is more than «generous») this store has got to be the worst department store I have ever visited … an example of how not to run a store. Management should be replaced. But Corporate K Mart seems to be as inept as the ones who seem absent here. Customer service is non existent … 8 registers, but rarely ever more than one or two open, resulting in long lines, especially around noon, when business people just don’t have the time to spend 15 minutes waiting in line.
Frankly, I am hoping for this store to close and be replaced by a LOWE store, which we need in Redwood City.
I will never step foot into this K Mart.

What’s there to say? It’s convenient. Has everything. The food sucks. I don’t consider Lil Ceasars as anything more than cheap cardboard.
The staff do their best.
Love that they offer layaway.
Love their $ 5 movie selections.
Only place I know that carries Everlast workout gear.
Had some awesome deals for kid clothing.

The only «department store» my hometown had was K-​Mart, and it was a running joke to call K-​Mart CaCa Mart. I digress.
I came to K-​Mart after a sweaty workout at Crunch because a) I didn’t feel like driving to Target and b) it was on my way home. I needed to buy a gift for a coworker, find a gift card, buy a baby outfit for a coworker, and see if K-​Mart had any maxi dresses or skirts for my upcoming trip to Portugal.
I can say the following:
1. The store was clean and organized. No merchandise on the floor and the floors were mopped.
2. I saw several employees organizing items in various departments and two asked if I needed any help.
3. Their clothing department is okay. I didn’t find any maxi skirts or dresses that I liked, but if you’re in the market for cootchie cutter shorts with strategically placed rips and tears, lycra bandage skirts, and cleavage baring dresses, be sure to check out Sofia Vergara’s trampy line of clothing. They do have clothing devoted to Misses, Juniors, Children, Babies, Men, and Plus Size women.
4. The store was dimly lit! I’m not sure why it was so dark!
5. I found my baby shower gift/​gift for a coworker and was able to buy a Cold Stone gift card as well.
6. They had two cashiers and I didn’t wait in line at all.
If you’re too lazy to drive to Target and don’t want to drive a couple hundred feet over to Kohl’s, stop by K-​Mart. They most likely will have what you need.
