I feel like I’ve committed a sin. My go to phở place in rwc is Hometown Noodle. Today I decided to give this places try. I immediately regret the decision to stray from all that is good fresh rare steak«phở tai» from the ones that do it best. How did this place get the same rating as Hometown Noodle? the bean sprouts were brown, the sliced jalapeños were white all around the edges, and the basil was wilted and browned. Why the two stars? Once I pieced everything together the soup itself wasn’t bad. Aesthetically I was completely disappointed. The energy in the joint is dismal as well. Won’t be back!

The beef noodle phở at Phở Truong Long is just delicious. Don’t leave Redwood City or SMC without eating here first.

The only reason I’mleaving a 2-star rating is because their Phở was good. The dining experience here could have been a lot better. As we walked in, they leave the front doors open when it is 40 degrees outside. We chose to sit in the back. My fiancé clearly asked for tea with lime and they forget to bring it out. When we ordered, we got the beef vermicelli. It was not tasteful nor had any flavor. The meat seemed like it was old. I feel as because they have low attendance that they give customers the leftovers in order to save money. The place ONLY takes cash and has an atm conveniently next to to the register. I have to pay a fee to complete payment for my food. I left a small tip being the main tip was the fee they collected from me through their atm. Service wasn’t great. I don’t ever plan to come back!

I don’t know how this place got 3.5 stars. It was nearly empty on a Friday night. I wouldn’t come back for the food or the service. I just read what another Unilocaler wrote– there is a label at the bottom of the menus stating that you have to add an additional $ 1 per item to your bill. The owner told us the same thing as he did the other person — he’s too cheap to print new menus so he added that label.(At least he’s consistent!) Now the food — we ordered phở and the broth was greasy and lack flavor. There were like 3 thin slices of meat. For the price we paid(over $ 20 for 2 orders of phở) there really wasn’t much food. It was the smallest plate of basil and sprouts ever! One sprig of basil? Everyone who brought out the food for us were grumpy. Unless they were just having a bad day I’d say service was pretty terrible. Then a couple of workers starting eating at tables near us since there wasn’t much business. It’s also cash only but no signs were posted outside indicating that. We didn’t realize it until after we ordered. There’s a sign on the cash register. We drive by this place all the time and had tried to come here one other night. However, the place was closed even though the hours posted showed that it was supposed to be open. Now we’ve finally tried it. Disappointing. We were hoping for a decent phở place closer to home but it’s worth driving a little farther. Not worth coming back.

Best phở around, better than most of places I have been to all over the Bay Area. This phở is close to the real deal, and I just spent a few months in Vietnam. Super fast, extremely nice staff. The man who takes your order is so welcoming and sweet, makes for a great experience. I usually order the rare beef phở because it’s the best!

Not worth it. Bland, pork was paper thin and tasted musty

The broth was pretty good as well as the beef balls that I ordered. It wasnt that long of the wait to get served or have someone get my order. I do gotta say it was the most I have ever paid in a phở restaurant for one person.

Great broth, loaded with noodles. The steak and flank were tender and delicious. Spring rolls tasted fresh and delicious. The super friendly service bumped this place from 4 to 5 stars.

I love this place! The guy there is awesome, he’s super friendly and always makes me smile. I get the #19 combination soup with egg noodles. That’s my favorite. It can cure your cold(if you put enough chili sauce in it.)

In the bottom of the menu, there is a WARNING that you will get charged $ 1 more for all phos and appetizers. It costs me $ 15 for one regular phở + 2 pieces of spring rolls. I complained about this and he said it costs $ 1,800 to make a new menu. $ 1,800? hah… Also, they don’t take credit cards. You know why… Phở smelled like sewer water and spring rolls were not very fresh. I would not recommend this place.

1 star because the egg rolls were bomb. If you’re a true phở fan, this place is not okay from a food and atmosphere standpoint… I edited my post to a 1 star after reading about the cockroach and descriptions of the food…

I’ve been here a few times and will not be going back. The food is gross. The phở broth is oily and disgusting. Meat is really poor quality and not even the noodles are good. This restaurant is not clean and by the quality of ingredients and presentation I can only imagine what the kitchen is like. There are plenty of other phở places I’d rather go to even though this one is the closest to my house. Avoid this place!!!

I came one more time and they brought the soup out with a cockroach in it. I didn’t eat the soup, brought the cockroach to their attention, and they said it wasn’t their fault, they can’t control bugs, and that I still had to pay for it. It wasn’t a fruit fly. It was a cockroach. So disgusting. Every time I’ve been into this place it’s been filthy, the tables were still full of bowls and food from people who have left. I don’t know how they passed inspection. Diners beware. The 5 minute drive to May’s, or anywhere else, is worth it.

The service here was very inviting and the staff was extremely friendly. The chicken phở here is good but it’s great service that keeps me coming back!

Delicious fresh food. Always fast too! We order delivery from here quite often and it’s consistently yummy. :-). Our favorites are the fresh sprint rolls, the #28, #36, the combination fried rice, and any of the soups!

Although I can say that I had better Phở, the taste reminds me of home when my parents would make phở. Its a simple mom&pop’s restaruant with a light but tasteful broth. One thing that has me worried was that it takes a while to get the food out for the guests. I realized why the food was taking so long and it is because there is only 1 person working in the back. Other than that, I would rate it 4-stars.

Walked in and was greeted by the friendly man at the counter. We had take out, chicken vermicelli w egg roll. Very tasty. I didnt use the sauce because I think it was derived from fish. We also has the Thai Tea. I would return to this restaurant. It looked clean too. :)

Hate to be a nay-sayer. The food just wasn’t good enough to remedy the poor service. We ordered a spread. The only thing I remember was that the fried spring rolls(cha guon) were burnt, the rice was dry, and the hallway through the back look like something from a horror film.

I have mixed feelings on this place. I’ll start with the bad: — you really get the feeling that’s it’s a family business as soon as you step in. It’s very unorganized and every time I come here there is always tables that aren’t cleaned up for a good amount of time. — they clearly don’t have enough staff to keep his place running smoothly For the good: — great and fresh food that delivers every time. I always end up to be so annoyed over the waiting time, but the quality of the food always makes me forget about it. — great people who really appreciates their customers
