Our daughter has been attending ‘The Academy’, The Foundry’s youth program for Volleyball since Spring and we have been so impressed with both the facility and the coaches. The facility is huge, in pristine condition with several volleyball courts, basketball, conditioning areas, a gym and more. We searched for a youth Volleyball program for many months before discovering this hidden gem. The Academy is a wonderful program for young children interested in Volleyball. Practice is once a week during the school year and offered twice a week in Summer(in addition to Summer Camps offered). There is also a league which the children can join through the Foundry as well. The coaches are amazing! They encompass all the positive traits you hope for — they are energetic, upbeat, positive, very engaged, encourage the girls to push themselves in a way that builds confidence and self esteem. The positive environment they create permeates and, as a result, the children all encourage and support one another which is heartwarming to watch. My daughter is the youngest and smallest and I’ve been so impressed by the way the older girls have mentored her and the other parents have been supportive. I also love that my daughter has so many positive role models to watch there. Middle and High School girls practice on other courts at the same time and she gets to see women being strong and athletic working as a team. I’ve talked with parents who have tried other programs from Los Altos north and have shared that this is, by far, their favorite. Finally, the owner of The Foundry is just as wonderful as the coaches. I was so impressed the second week when he not only remembered my daughter’s name but made a point of bringing her a team shirt. The Foundry is a gem and we are so grateful to have found it!

The facility is outstanding and the volleyball club is run by experienced, caring professionals. This is our first experience with club sports and I couldn’t be happier. We have a coach who who puts his heart and soul into the team and dedicates many extra hours for our girls. The Foundry owners are in this for the love of sports and the development of young athletes. Get to know this place… lots of good, dedicated people.

I agree with Yvonne below. Poorly run V-ball club. Only about the money; not about the girls on the team. DONOTPLAYFORTHEM!

Awesome place to play volleyball with nice separated courts. They have a small area for free weights for training. Looks like they’re able to convert the court services to accommodate other sports like basketball too. It’s sorta located in the middle of nowhere off the 101 in between some warehouses and mobile homes.

Very very impressive, cavernous indoor sports facility in the middle of no where along a 101 access road. I know nothing about the organization going on behind the scenes with my son’s soccer program but everything seems to be running very like clockwork despite the large number of games going on at any given time for teams of various ages through out the day on any given Saturday.

The Foundry is a brand new, indoor sports facility that just opened in Redwood City. It’s on Bayshore Rd. between Marsh Rd. and Woodside Rd. Inside it’s quite large and cavernous with a slightly springy floor and plenty of space(I never actually saw the other side of the room). It’s configurable with Industrial-sized curtains used to divide the large space according to the games and court sizes needed. My daughter just started playing indoor soccer here; The facility is clean and new, but unheated, so dress like you’ll be outside.(All the parents kept their coats on.) There’s plenty of parking in back, but you’ll have to use the nifty stoplight system to get back there; the driveway is only one car wide. Don’t be the like the guy today who ignored it and caused a minor traffic jam. First!
