No mas! No mas! Have come here a couple times out of convenience and other people’s direction, and each time I have only been happy with the chips, salsa bar and soda fountain. The meat is low quality, the rice/beans/whatever is flavorless. I would prefer taco bell.

This my neighborhood mexican place. Though it is not high quality but OK and convenient food to grab a bite. There has been a change in ownership and it seems to be doing better. There are better taco places, but if you are in mood for a american mexican regular chain food, this is not a bad place.

Good Items: Guacamole — their guac is fantastic. It’s the smooth kind(not chunky). I am pretty picky about my guacamole, and I enjoy the smooth kind much more than the chunky kind. Salsa — yep pretty good Decent Items: Steak/Chicken Fajita — the meats were overcooked Bad Items: Margarita Salad — the cheese completely ruined this for me. I think it’s feta, and I hate feta cheese.

I have never had a Unilocal account or cared to write in one of these. But something is going on with this eatery. I have been eating at Una Mas in Redwood Shores for at least 10 years(since they opened) I stopped going for awhile because the quality of food had gone down and I was spending less time in the area. I went earlier today out of desperation for a simple burrito. My order: A small bean, cheese and rice burritto. Being a vegetarian and on the go it’s easy to hold and has some protein. I usually frequent La Corneta when going Mexican. But in the interest of time, that was not an option. So I went into Una Mas. The cashier, looked like she was the owner or ateast ran the place, took my order. A small bean, cheese and rice burrito. Usually runs about $ 3.50-$ 4. I asked her if she could make it small, my appetite was almost non-existant, but I needed something. She said, okay. She rang me up and it was almost $ 7. She goes to the cook and says, don’t put as much as usual, she doesn’t want a lot. Let me note that a chicken burrito with salsa, sour cream, cheese, the whole nine at Una Mas is the same price, $ 7. The Bean and Cheese on the menu is $ 4. I asked why this simple burrito was $ 3 more than the bean and cheese? I only added rice and she told the cook to only put a little. Her excuse was because I added rice. Because I was running late I paid for the little burrito and told her next time I’ll take 10 more minutes and drive to La Corneta in San Carlos. The burrito wasn’t even good and I ended up throwing it away. I usually don’t care about a couple bucks, but this was just pathetic. Don’t waste your time and money at this place !

I usually get the fish burrito with cilantro rice. It’s really good. I wish the green salsa were better. It tastes like a something out of a can from Safeway. The staff is nice.

I used to come here fairly often because it was convenient. I stopped coming because the cleanliness of the place went noticeably downhill. My wife and I are convinced that we got sick after eating here a couple of times. Yes. It took us twice to learn. I just stopped in today to buy a soda. Again because it was convenient. So, add to my complaint that the workers just couldn’t care less whether you get decent service or not. I couldn’t get anyone to come out of the back room to take my order. Yes. I loudly announced my presence in English and Spanish. I eventually sent one of the workers, who had been hanging out outside, back into the backroom to get someone to take my order. I’ll buy my next soda from Safeway.

A chain specializing in big burritos, ala Chipotle or Qdoba. I like it occasionally as a change of pace. I have an employee that drags me here for lunch meetings. It’s not too bad. The Foghead burrito is tasty. BBQ sauce adds a little something to everything.

I only came here cuz at first I wasn’t familiar with the options I have for lunch around my work… why I went there twice beats the hell out of me… I’ve gotten their enchilada’s which the sauce didn’t taste anything like a sauce should for enchilada’s. The second time I got their burrito which had so many onions in it and practically NO meat! I will say that it is nice to have the chips offered to you while you wait but now I know it’s because after you take a bite of their food… all you eat is the chips!!! Chinese food has their American version known as Mr. Chau’s… Mexican food now has their American version called Unamas…

Considering we never go here anymore, I can’t really justify my previous 3-star rating. There are so many better options, including the Chipotle Grill a few blocks away, which I barely consider a 3-star place. Our family nickname for this place DVB, which stands for«Disease Vector Burrito.» That’s because my wife is convinced she got sick from a meal here, though I ate the same meal and never had an issue. No proof that Unamas was at fault, but the name stuck, half-jokingly.(I even made up a jingle for it). Pros: convenient to shopping center; fresh chips Cons: Unexciting, americanized mex food

I get the Foghead burrito. This isn’t authentic Mexican food, but who cares? The Foghead burrito is loaded with chicken, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, barbecue sauce, rice and black beans. So many tasty, tasty calories, it’s a great thing to order for a treat. The service here ranges from okay to disappointing. Usually, I come here to grab a meal and take it home.

This isn’t authentic Mexican food but it’s good if your on the go(trying to get back to work). They made a change recently and made their own tortillas, which I think they’re so much better then they used to be. I usually order the Crispy Taco Salad with Chicken and their TORTILLASOUP is really good. But don’t go here expecting great Mexican food.

Gack! This place has gone down hill under new management and is now a ghost town most of the time. It appears that all the surfing artwork was trucked over the the Pizza My Heart at the theater complex. Back in its day, I used to get the El Cheapo burrito and mix in some fresh salsa. Now I just get a couple of Una Mas tacos and ponder my existence. You’ll find many«buy one, get one» coupons in your mailbox, be sure to use it when ordering for the family so that you can feel better about this one.

WHY? WHY? Why did you leave me in Daly City, Una Mas? You have traumatized my palate! I miss the fish tacos and the shrimp quesadillas! I miss the lobster burrito, chicken burrito and the taqueria tacos! I miss your Horchata… I miss the endless supply of salsas! NOOOOOO! WHY??? Oh well. till’ we meet again in another life! =*(

I’ve eaten at several Una Mas locations and I do like their food. But, the RC location is not up to the par of others. The food never seems as fresh and the salsa is not as good as in other locations. I still eat here b/c overall it’s ok, but when I eat at one of the other locations I always wonder why RC can’t be as good. Try the butternut squash burrito!

unamas has been at sequoia station forever and is a typical«americanized» Mexican place. The food is overpriced, but the restaurant itself and the salsas are pretty good. If you are in a hurry and want some decent mexican food, this is the place to go, otherwise, there are much better mexican places in Redwood City. The menu never really changes and my favorite are the crispy tacos or nachos.

As I sit here eating the Verde salad with chicken, I thought I’d write a review on this place. Their fish tacos and especially their burritos are divine! I LOVE the chipotle sauce they dump on the fish dishes. I also love the salads because you can tell them exactly what you do or don’t want on them like I don’t get beans or anything too high in calorie content. This way it makes them diet friendly. They are quick, I think they are cheap and I never get sick from this Mexican food like I have from Tacos El Gruellense or any of the other«authentic» taco shops around here. I did get the shrimp once and they were gross, but the beef, chicken and grilled fish is good.

GROSS!!! Yuck! Blech! Don’t ever get any of their shrimp dishes, I am not a fan of their pineapple salsa in Mexican food.

The burritos are decent. However, it’s a bit expensive. The regular burritos don’t come with sour cream or guac. You’d have to add«The Works» to get those things. However, they do have a variety of meat fillings, from carne to chicken to fish and shrimps. So it’s slightly more Americanized than the authentic taquerias. The big plus that earned them the 4 stars is their fresh guac, which is very good, and their salsa. I don’t know what the name of the salsa is, but it’s in the top right bin, slightly brown-ish in color, and damn good.
