With all the options on 71^st/​Continental I figured I would head over there for some new glasses. But then I checked on Unilocal and saw Davidoff was having a Unilocal deal for $ 100 off if you check in so figured, why not check them out.
I’m glad I did because they’re so nice there and extremely patient. I’m one of those people that annoyingly need to try a bunch of glasses on over and over again because it’s tough to find some that stay on my little nose. Robert was amazing– so patient with me and brought me a bunch of other frames that I wouldn’t have thought to look at after I described the key components of what I was looking for.
They have a pretty large selection and it ranges from super cheap to high end depending on what you’re looking to spend. I was looking for good frames to last me a long time without breaking the bank. After a lot of trying on frames I ended up going with what Robert recommended because they were super light, stayed on my nose, and he could order a color from the catalog that wasn’t even in the store. The best part is, all frames right now are 50% off! So even though I checked in for the Unilocal deal, because the frames cost more than $ 200 I got a better deal with their 50% off option. Actually, when you walk in, let them know you found them on Unilocal and they will be very honest with you on what would be the better deal.
I would definitely recommend this place to get your glasses. (I didn’t need an eye exam so can’t comment on that.) I honestly did not feel like Robert was pushing me to get more expensive frames or anything like that the entire time. Sure he gave me options on upgrading lenses but never felt pressured to do it. I also appreciated that he took my vision insurance and laid out all the different price options for me depending on whether I used the insurance or went with their deals.
Anyway, picked up my glasses from them today and couldn’t be happier. They said that if I ever feel like my glasses need adjustments that I could pop in anytime. I believe them too, because I only went there the one time before this and they recognized me as soon as I walked in today. I guess that’s what you get from a family owned store, which is pretty nice.

Awesome place to go for an eye exam, glasses and contacts. The staff is professional, kind and knowledgeable. I’ve been a patient for years and I am always satisfied. I feel very confident with Dr. Retiniski, I have major dry eye issues, not only did he request to see what eye drops I was taking but he made sure I was taking right right supplements to help with dry eyes which they had in the office, how cool is that?! You will not be disappointment, your eyes are important this is a place you want to be.

I needed to get new contacts, and I needed new lenses on my glasses due to a scratch. I went to a nearby competitor and they wanted to charge me 200 dollars for 1 lens. The gentleman (Robert) who helped me did not try to get money out of me, and I ended up paying less than half than what the competitor was asking for. I got an awesome deal for high quality contacts and the doctor was extremely kind. Everyone tried to provide an optimal price with no pressure of up selling. When my order was ready they called me to inform me. Very pleased with Davidoff Optical!

This optical store has been around the area for 20 years and maintain a well atmosphere, as well as give the necessary attention to customers with prescription and medical appointment needs. Robert and His crew are very nice friendly staff. Highly recommend this place.

Love this place, it has been around for over 20 years– the friendly staff, knowledgable doctor, and family atmosphere are definitely the reason why. Robert is a real gem, him and his staff advise you on the right frames for your face, they can get contacts delivered to you and well help you in anyway they can. I prefer coming here because I know Rob will take care of my prescription and give me the best deal on my glasses because he cares about his customers. Recommend it to all my friends and family.

Davidoff is a full-​service shop that offers unbeatable service and selection. They have an eye doctor on site and a large supply of frames to cater to every taste and budget (the largest supply I’ve seen in any store). They also carry store-​brand frames at prices much lower than the name brands. I’ve been wearing the same Davidoff rimless frames for four years – the quality is outstanding.
What truly sets Davidoff apart is the service. Robert, Laura, and Laura are caring and attentive. No detail escapes them. Another reviewer described feeling like part of the family, and I agree. I’ve continued to shop at Davidoff since moving to Forest Hills, and I suspect I will continue shopping there no matter where I move next.

I recently just went for an examination to get new glasses and I got them in two days! And they also call you when it is ready to pick up. I got my Raybans for a cheap and affordable price. They accept almost every type of insurance, if you are every unsure just call they and they can tell you.
I also love the location because it is close to where I live and it is also by R, M train at 63^rd drive and also by the Q60 & Q38.
It is in a very convenient place I go for my examinations during weekends and it’s never to crowded. I highly recommend anyone who is looking for an optical center around Rego Park, Queens!

I don’t know what the other reviewer was talking about and giving a bad review. I have been going to Davidoff Optical for over 15 years as well as my sister and mother. They treat us like family and the service is top rate. They always are fair with the pricing and their selection of frames is on pare with the top eye-​ware stores in the city. When ever I get a new stronger prescription, I usually have to go a few times back for adjustments and never a problem. They are patient with me and I am very sensitive with new prescriptions. I wouldn’t tolerate me and they do with such care and friendliness. They have done so many things without ever charging me which I know wouldn’t happen in other places The whole crew is the best. You won’t go wrong with such a family oriented business. I highly recommend them.
