We went to pick out a Christmas tree here after Home Depot was a complete disaster. There were loads of trees to choose from and I saw trees ranging in price from $ 35-$ 60. The staff is very friendly, helpful and patient. The guy helping us held up a few trees while we were trying to decide, trimmed it where we wanted, tied it up and helped us get it securely in the car. We ended up spending only a few dollars more than we would have at Home Depot and this was a much better experience; not to mention our tree is beautiful!

came here for my corsage and boutonnière for prom and they had excellent choices to pick from, a few days after I ordered it I called back to change the ribbon color and pick up date, the lady had no problem with assisting me and when I picked it up it was beautiful, only slight problem I had was that the strap on my corsage didn’t fit as much so it would move around a bit but I think it’s because I have very slim wrists

Went to return two plants of two different species of rhodendrum that were purchased here in April. The manager a South American guy was very unprofessional. He said the plants have a 6 month warranty, not the 1 year as when bought. Instead of giving us our money back we were given only one plant to reimburse us. Last time we purchase from a local florist trying to support this local merchant.

This garden center is just okay. The selection of plants isn’t all that great but they are healthy. They sometimes get a few nice perennials. The large packages of vegetable seeds are deffinitely worth the money and the annuals paks are reasonably priced.

That is a good place indeed with only one essential disadvantage — it is a bit expensive. There are a lot of plants and flowers, also lots of different kinds of seeds and soil fertilizers, but the place a bit pricey, and their collection of pots is not that great…

Although I do by default refer to Florist Hills & Garden Center as «McClusky’s» as it was the prior owners name for basically the same products, I find myself drawn there every two weeks or so to see what is new. Far from being much of a gardener prior to this year, there is a certain excitement of envisioning what one’s garden could become with some of the beautiful plants that are for sale, inside and outside the gates of Florist Hills & Garden Center. From the dreamy stage to the practical portion of what your outdoor and indoor plans will become, takes little effort with the knowledge and support of the staff, who can get your questions answered in a clear and concise manner. If I were to pinpoint a particular characteristic that distinguishes my purchasing history, a knowledge based customer service relationship always is atop the pecking order.(Something one will never get at Home Depot which is a mere few blocks up Woodhaven Blvd) With the middle portion of the vegetable gardening season upon us, every plant I purchased at Florist Hills & Garden Center is producing vegetables, growing tall and strong and continue to thrive in my backyard, which previously had really no nutrients in the soil nor fertilizer, it was just dirt, dirty dirt. Based on the plants being spaced improperly and their continued ability to flourish with daily watering I know why now it is that I find myself walking the isles every two weeks. Whatever I plant, whatever the advice I receive, it can be trusted.

I do at times exhibit the characteristics of a grinch. Plastic fantastic christmas trees and faux firs were fine by me. An artificial tree can reside in a cardboard box and it’s reusable. Right, as if I’ve suddenly become concerned with sustainability, a politically fashionable cover for my thriftiness. So that all changed this year as we decided to have a real, live Christmas tree. My heart grew three times and suddenly we needed the green. I recalled hearing myths and legends from co-op co-conspirators of a garden center just«down Yellowstone». On a surprisingly mild Sunday we marched down Yellowstone Boulevard and were almost approaching Woodhaven when the situation looked bleak. Would we have to continue on foot to the Home Depot? Was this mystery garden center a cruel trick played on the young by the old? Wait, what’s that? From the corner of my eye I spied what looked like greenery, wreaths and then trees all ready for Santa. Yes Virginia, there is a Florist Hills! Like an alien visitor, I marveled at this new realm of organic life forms for sale. A 5′ tree would do and we were lucky enough to find one with minimal effort. We informed a worker of our intentions, he gave us a slip to go indoors and pay at the counter. Indoors, the Garden Center has a selection of additional seasonal decorations. There wasn’t much of a line, we paid and now back to the outdoor area where our tree was secured with wire. Including a base and a skirt, the total cost was $ 35. Half a mile later, the tree was smuggled into our building lest nosy neighbors cite an obscure rule prohibiting trees in apartments. During the non-cold parts of the year I’d definitely return to check out their selection of plants and garden supplies.
