Unbelievable home made knishes! You can’t find any other place like this around. They once had a satellite near Union Square in Manhattan that made it convenient for Manhattanites. They aren’t Gabila’s which are sold in most supermarkets these are the real thing. Mail order is quite $$$$ my only complaint…

My second trip to Knish Nosh mainly to pick up matzoh balls for Passover. I make my own soup(ALWAYS), but I find it more of a challenge to make really good ones, so I try to make my job a little easier by supplementing with someone else’s homemade matzoh balls, then I can concentrate on everything else! Yeah, the ‘service’ can stand to improve, but it kind of adds to the whole experience. Think of it like you’re coming to ‘the Knish Nazi’(think: Seinfeld’s Soup Nazi). She almost didn’t sell me two ‘extra’ balls because I initially asked for one dozen, but then re-thought my numbers and asked for two more. Seriously, she almost didn’t let me have them, lol! But then reluctantly went to check in the back. Oh – and she wasn’t accepting credit cards, something about it being a new machine. Not sure what the issue was, but I’m pretty sure she’ll take them, just not today. It’s ok, Knish Lady, I forgive you. AND, I’ll see you next year, if not sooner!(Pay someone to help out though, you need another person up front!)

I called this place to inquire about some mini knish for a wedding. The lady that answered the phone was extremely rude!!! she did not let me ask her any questions and demanded that i give her my phone number and order right away or she wasn’t taking my order. After asking her why she was being so rude to me when i was making a huge purchase from them, she told me that she didn’t have time for me and hung up the phone on me!!! I will never call or visit this place in my life… What a miserable person she is. Ive never been treated with so much disrespect.

Listen i’ve been going to all locations of Knish Nosh since i was a child. Ever since the move from the original location the quality and the service has gone from amazing to down right shit. I’m not complaining about the food here the Knishes are still top notch and overpriced now. I’m here to complain about the shitty ass slow as molasses service you get when you walk into the location. The old lady behind the counter is NASTYANDRUDE, and slow as molasses, and she uses a damn calculator to ring up a bill. God Damn get some new and youthful help in this place. This lady just doesn’t cut it if you want people to come back to this location. Be wary, of all things i said. FOODGOOD/SERVICE SHITTYASHELL.

After a sad stretch of soft, lukewarm knishes from street vendors, I schlepped over to Knish Nosh, hoping that a place named after it would be able to offer a taste of the Real McCoy. With an enormous open kitchen in the back and a small seating area in the front, there is something of an industrial cafeteria feel to Knish Nosh. A large refrigerator by the front displays a variety of other interesting prepackaged offerings(such as soups, salads, and prepared sides), but I was only here for one thing. My first perusals of the knish menu were certainly promising. It covered everything from your familiar potato knish to more novel fillings like spinach, mushroom, meat, and broccoli. Not only that, each could be purchased in different sizes, or ounces. Their cocktail knishes(which can be ordered in a 1 or 2 oz. size) are presumably their largest kind, judging from their higher sticker prices. As enticing as the unique flavors and sizes seemed, I ordered a standard potato from the ‘large’ knish menu(listed as $ 3.70 on the wall menu but was asked to pay $ 4 — menu misprint or total after tax?), which was quickly handed over on a paper plate. The rotund knish, spanning my entire palm and then some, certainly seemed to earn its size title in heft and height. It was also heated through, which allayed my typical grousing with mushy and lukewarm cart knishes. The outer shell was on the flakier side, not crunchy as my ideal knish would have been, but still delicious. The soft potato innards were somewhat bland on their own but, like a hot dog, half the fun of ordering a knish is choosing and slathering on the condiments, which I did as I squirted liberally from the bottles of ketchup and mustard that made available on the side counter. While this may not have been the absolute best knish I’ve ever had, it was certainly better than most and worth the price when you consider the overall value against the sheer size of these carby turnovers. I’m intrigued by the other flavors and would be willing to return to try some of the vegetable knishes.

A little bit of a shlep and a pain to park on the area but well worth the visit Everything on the menu is scrumptious and fresh From soups to prepared dishes ! And those knishes!!! My mouth waters just thinking of them From the tasty potato Knish to the spinach and kasha and other varieties Each big and a meal in itself, with or without mustard Picked up a few dozen recently to freeze and a dozen to send back with my brother in law to San Diego — the passengers on the plane kept asking what that delicious smell was after my bro had the stewardess heat one up for him– but only after he agreed to give her one! Just took out one of the frozen morsels and nuked it in the microwave and it tasted just as fresh as when I got it in September ! Have to there for some latkes now for Hanukkah Go and enjoy And the owners btw are lovely people Glad they are still around after all these years!

Go when you can be patient and have time to wait and savor. What lacks in counter service you will forget as soon as you start eating. Everything we ate was EXCELLENT. The brisket will melt in your mouth and I’ll be dreaming about those fresh, tasty Matza balls for weeks, I’m sure!

Great old school new york place with a warm homestyle feel to it. I tried the potatoe mushroom nish nosh and a split pea soup, It came out to $ 10 which i thought was a bit expensive, the meal tasted good but was bland for my taste. They did not have hot sauce but the nice women gave me fresh organic chilis to accompany my meal.

This is the old Knish Nosh from two blocks down, but in a newer, brighter location. And it’s still as good. The knishes are delicious(regular potato and spinach are favorites), but the soups(both matzo ball and chicken kreplach) are hands down the best prepared versions I’ve ever had, and the chopped liver is «to die for.»

Stopped in here to try some knishes because I’ve heard that it was a standard spot in Rego Park. They didn’t have sweet potato knishes because apparently they only have an electric oven(?) right now. So, that was disappointing, and makes me wonder what else on their menu they don’t have. Also, the prices are a little high for some stuff. The kasha knish was NOT good — very, VERY dry, falling apart, and literally no flavor. We threw it out. The regular potato knish was great — flaky, moist, flavorful. A little pricey for what it is, but it’s a mom and pop shop, so I didn’t feel too bad paying a little extra. However, I wish it had been worth it! The lady working the counter also told the previous customer to have a happy holiday, but not me, which I thought was weird, too.
