Delivery review. 1) vegetable samosas 2) meat samosas 3) garlic naan 4) tandoori chicken(not spicy) 5) chicken tikki masala(hot) Both samosas were okay but weren’t the best that I have had. If you don’t have any dietary restrictions, I would recommend the meat samosa over the vegetable. Both entrees were also just okay. They could use some more spices, but this place will do if you’re craving Indian food. It’s a little pricey for what they give you. The delivery time is about average — 45 minutes — and the food arrived hot.

I’ve eaten here(4) times now since November. Mango lassi’s are delicious! Mulligatawny, papadom, onion kulcha and chicken tikka masala — have always been made fresh — far more than the handful of other East Indian restaurants I’ve eaten at. And I’m not giving this compliment lightly, FYI. Service is always decent. They are happy to wrap up leftovers. Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is intimate. Parking spaces nearby. Only a couple blocks off the M/R stop @ 63rd. Stop by. You’ll be glad you did! :)

I went to Sajni for lunch today. Normally I go to Tandor a few blocks away for their lunch buffet. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. The lunch special includes an appetizer, main dish, nam bread and desert. Every thing was served together. The chicken portion was small. I asked the waiter if the cook forgot to put all the chicken in the dish. He said it was a lunch special and all you get is 4 pieces. The 4 pieces were tiny. NOMORESAJNIFORME. TANDORITWILLBE. I wax the only person in the restaurant. Wonder why?

Ordered: veg. samosas, garlic naan, malai kofta and chicken tikka masala. Sorry Sajni, our delivery took an hour and fifteen minutes to arrive, had little to no flavor and was ice cold on arrival. First and last time.

Like most of the other Unilocalers out there, I came here for lunch when I was in the area and starving and took advantage of the great lunch special. The lunch special is a very decent sized amount of food and includes appetizer, entrée, dessert, and naan. All of the food came out pretty quickly and the Chicken Tikka Masala was great. This is my go-to Indian dish, and this place didn’t dissapoint. The service was pretty attentive as I was one of only two people there on the afternoon when I went. Endgame: if you are in the neighborhood and want some delicious food, this is a great place to go. I wouldn’t travel out of my way to go back, but it’s better than most other options in that area.

I came here for lunch on a weekday on my friend’s recommendation. There were no other dine-in customers besides my friend and I, so I got a really good look at the place. It’s well-decorated with religious and historical art on the walls and some fancy fixtures. There’s a bar and televisions set to an Indian channel(likely in Punjabi). The lights are dimmed. The set of silverware and glassware I received looked clean. On weekdays there are lunch specials that allow you to save ~$ 2 on your meal. I’m still new to Indian cuisine so I ordered chicken saag, which is chicken served with creamy spinach. Immediately, the waiter brought out pakora and refilled our water. 30 minutes later(yes I timed it – I was hungry), the waiter brought out our entrees, along with daal, rice, naan, and rice pudding. They skimped out a little with the chicken, but there was so much food overall, I didn’t mind much. tl;dr Good food + good prices + okay waiting time = fairly satisfied customer. I’ll be back to try other things!

Just had food delivered — for starters how does the guy not bring change? He had NOMONEY on him. It makes no damn sense. Also on top of it delivery was estimated at 20 mins — the guy took an hour! I could have gone to key food bought and prepared chicken, eat it then wash my dishes all in that time. I gave him my twenty. I pray to god he comes back… I doubt it.

The food here is low-quality someplace in between Indian fast food and restaurant quality food. I’d say it’s probably in line with the food you’d find in a higher-quality Indian corner store. My experience was with the okra, daal(soup), and chicken, one of which I thought was rather tasty, but note the health implications before you go(lower-quality ingredients prompt higher levels of cream and oil to achieve a similar level of taste).

We decided to order from here since we were craving some Indian food and did not hear great reviews on the Baluchi’s on Queens Blvd and Hevana by us. We were very pleased with our food since I had a craving for Indian food after talking to a friend today about it(props to Serena!) For starters, we shared an order of vegetable samosa. Very tasty with a good crisp on the outside. My better half ordered the Chicken Curry which tasted very nice with a good spice kick. I ordered the Chicken Tikki Masala that was awesome. A bit more spice to my sauce than I wished for but still good nonetheless. Also had a naan to share to soak up the sauces. We were pleased with our meal overall and would recommend this place. We will be hitting this place up again for our Indian food cravings in the future.

Sajni has been slowly declining since I discovered it, which is sad. the food isn’t as spicy/flavorful, the portions are smaller, delivery is still spotty, and charging for white rice or plain naan? that’s bush league. the parting of the ways…

The quality of their food must have declined. Now that we’ve discovered Indian seasonings packets, courtesy of Rices & Spices in NJ, I can make a much better Tandoori chicken at home than Sajni 026.

To my knowledge there are only a handful of Indian restaurants in Rego Park /Forest Hills, and among the select few, Sajni 026 is one of the best ones around. It’s too bad I didn’t discover this place until recently, imagine all the delicious Desi meals I would have had all these years had I known about Sajni?! I was really excited that they serve all the Indian staples(hello, Chicken Tikka Masala!), and the greatest shock was their extensive menu options for fish dishes. I use that term loosely, as most Indian restaurants I find do not serve fish, anything over three different preparations of fish seems quite«extensive» to me( ). I went with the Fish Kadai, and it was superb. The sauces laden with Indian spices, a mixture of onions and ginger when combined with their fragrant basmati rice, made for an absolutely delicious and perfect meal. The garlic naan and paneer kulcha were excellent additions to the meal and helped us sop up all that delicious sauce from the dish. The service is genial and welcoming, while the setting is a little dim, but great for a possible date night option. The prices are reasonable, and they take credit card, so that’s helpful. If you live in the neighborhood, I’d stick to Sajni 026 and altogether avoid the hassle and busy crowds in Jackson Heights, the food is actually even better here.

I walked by this Indian restaurant so many times and never gave it a 2nd look and I am not sure why because I love Indian food. One evening I decided to stop by and I ordered the curry lamb for dinner. The place was empty except one couple in the corner. Staff were real sweet and friendly. Prices were okay and the food was good. I am still annoyed that you dont get vegetables with your dinner that cost more than my Indian lunch special at Curry in a Hurry. IJS. However, I would return if I dont feel like travelling too far for some Indian grub.

Gross… grosss…and more GROSSS!!! I am really grossed out. Specifics: Customer service = phenomenal; Delivery time = phenomenal; Hot food = surprisingly great; Correct order = perfect; Sprite = cold as it should be… the positives end there and then comes… dum dum dummmmmmmmm — FLAVOR!!! Wow, I have never tasted«flavorless» Indian food. Indian food is typically so loud and bold in flavor. We ordered the black lentils dish and it smelled wonderful but tasted like water. Warm, merky water«/gross, ew, and WOW We also ordered the Lamb Curry and it tasted a lot like undercooked onion juice. I literally gagged at the taste and I have been eating Indian food regularly for over a decade now. Give me a break… Lamb Curry — try diced onion stew ugh, how could they do that to food? why would they desecrate lamb in such a way? Someone please, please help these people cook Funny enough, the meat somosa’s tasted GREAT… but obviously they did not actually make them from scratch.

After dinning in — I have upgraded this establishment to a 4 stars. I am holding back from giving all stars — simply because it’s too dark for me in there. I’d like to see, smell, taste and did I say SEE my food? I went at the time when the whole restaurant was empty. Felt like it was rented out empty just for me. Don’t know why it was empty, but there is nothing empty about the flavors of the dishes! Chatt Papri simply cleanse your palate with crispy papri & pea in sweet tangy flavor sauce and gets you feeling so amped for what’s coming next. The one thing that distinguishes this establishment from all others is that they do your Garlic Nan right! That’s right… when someone does my Garlic Nan right… I will tell everyone about it. It is big, deliciously soft and warm in the middle, crispy on the edges. It is GARLICIOUS!!! They also make awesome Lassi both sweet and mango flavors. Take your pick and you won’t regret. I decided to go with Chicken Vindaloo(Spicy) which actually comes with potatoes but it does not say it on the menu under the chicken dish. but says so under Fish Vindaloo. After a quick inquiry with the staff, they said they can make it without potatoes. Yayy for more protein less carb. How can a girl say no? Also tried Chicken Tikka Masala(Medium Spicy) — so smooth and flavorful almost forgot to chew my food. Wanted to run outta there with my CTM bowl, put it in middle of dinning table with all lights turned on, watch it like a Crown Jewel @ a museum.

ugh, wish I could really get these review in on-time Definitely a new fan! Never did I think Rego Park would have such good and authentic Indian cuisine. Naan is ultra fresh and buttery, generous portions. Samosas are a must try! Will try to go again tonight.
