I trained at Aikido of Reno for a couple of months, and am sorry that I can’t continue as I’m moving out of Reno. The environment at the dojo is very welcoming to beginners, and instructors and advanced students are patient with those of us who, like me, aren’t in the best shape and have difficulty learning physical movements. I had only minimal experience with martial arts starting out, and was made to feel very welcome here. The emphasis was on connecting with other people rather than on getting every movement technically perfect immediately, and there wasn’t too much pressure to advance quickly. I’d recommend Aikido of Reno to anyone who’s curious about aikido.

Since moving to Reno in 1996 Aikido of Reno has been my home Dojo and it has been a great honor to train with a group who make up a World Class martial arts school. Head instructor Vincent Salvatore can be credited with bringing a professional, organized and sincere approach to his art. Along with the members of the school they represent everything that is good and positive about the martial arts, and that special energy that is Aikido. I am always impressed by the increasingly diverse and wonderful group of caring, bright, and dedicated people.

Aikido is a beautiful, powerful, and effective martial art. I personally believe that since it is based off using you opponents force against them, it is the perfect martial art for women. Aikido of Reno is a traditional, friendly, polite, and welcoming dojo. I totally recommend visiting us and joining :)

A dedicated Sensei who has a terrific talent for teaching. They are polite, respectful, and straight forward. The Aikido taught here is second to none and the Dojo is very tradition, instruction is authentic and tradition. The Sensei has spent over 17 years training and living in Japan.
