Well where do I start? I went to this salon a couple of days ago while I was visiting the reno area and wanted to get a haircut. So I found this salon after seeing some photos of Abathat (pro hairstylist) online and some supposedly says they are masters of hair and thought this might be a good salon. I gave it a shot and scheduled and appointment for men’s haircut. I asked Spencer who did my hair that I wanted to have a conservative Mohawk style to it. So I was surprised that he used a razor to cut my nice hair since most guys don’t have nice healthy hair like me. Anyhow he told me that he was not going to remove so much from the sides and he did the opposite he took off too much hair with the razor. I hate razors and he should not have never recommended it to use razor to chop off my hair. I don’t do razors and he should have use scissors. This showed me that he was not confident about his work and was very confused on what to do next after chopping so much off it. Second when I noticed that he was already chopping off the back of my hair with the razor I told him that I did not want the tail anymore since I could tell it was going to be already a complete mess. Third when you are a good hairstylist you don’t need to use a razor for a Mohawk you should be able to use scissors and know how to style the type of hair you were asked correctly. Just because I am a guy does not mean you should use razor it’s so 19’s. Then he kept cutting more and more when I told him I did not like it too short since I get cold. The reason he did this I believe is that he was not sure where to go with it and how to style it anymore after his idea of a Mohawk went down the hill. I was not happy in fact I was extremely upset and disappointed that some people don’t know about style and techniques and know how to listen to customers. If you are not sure of something don’t recommend it let alone do it. My hair was very nice and he had plenty of hair to play with it. Plus he kept telling «it’s going to be awesome» but news flash it was one the worst men’s haircut I ever had. I did not complaint because I am not the type to be rude or make a scene. However I did tipped him since he was a laid back guy but will be the last time ever I will go there. Note: I also has realized when you tell this people that you hair grows fast its like they are thinking that since you told them that they can mess up you hair and after all it will grow back? not sure what the mentality is. Now I think that Abathat should help them on how to cut hair with great techniques.
