AMAZING!!! I ordered the bison burger on cauliflower patties instead of bread with a side of roasted veggies. My meal cost $ 20, a bit pricey for a burger but it was delicious and nutritious. I also tasted the turkey burger and it was equally as good. I’m excited to come back and try some more menu items or even something from their ‘grab n go’ section!

BFF Café will make you challenge your perception that eating healthy doesn’t taste as good. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with a cauliflower bun on my first visit and it was amazing. I couldn’t believe how good the bun was. On my second visit I just popped in for a quick snack and picked up some healthy(yes I said healthy) peanut butter balls. Oh, and by the way, they don’t hold any secrets back. They actually have onsite cooking classes that will show you how to make some of the most popular items on their menu. Thumbs up, Enjoy

Great spot for a healthy lunch. There soup was amazing, and gluten free. Thai salad tasty but could have used more veggies. Overall a great spot for a fresh, healthy lunch. Only 4 stars as the service was a little off.

Had a great lunch here yesterday. Both of our salads were excellent and the cauliflower pizza might be my new favorite snack. Looking forward to trying the to go packs for healthy lunch options when busy at work.

Yummy! Can’t wait to try cauliflower pizza. It’s a lunch that won’t ruin your diet. Paleo friendly clean eating. They also have a fridge to grab lunch on the go. Great idea!

Place was amazing ! Friendly staff! Never stopped moving! Ran smooth! Great energy. Self serve drinks was nice I was able to refill at my convienence, they had a variety if hot tea and creamers! The food was very tasty! I would recommend the cauliflower pizza for appetizer and for a main plate the zoodles were all nice and the bison burger and add the cauliflower bun well worth the $ up charge!

Everyone seems to know exactly what is going on and everything seems to run so smoothly that I assumed you guys were apart of some franchise from the coast i have never heard of — how awesome is that! Cheers and best of luck.

We had a friend post about BFF the other day so my husband and I decided to try it. He had the appetizer sweet potatoes fries and I had the salmon zoodles. All had very good flavor. I should’ve ordered without the wasabi sauce(I just don’t like the taste of wasabi) but it was all still good. Takes a while for the food to come out but was worth the wait. Drinks are self serve which is nice too.

New Year’s Resolutions have me focused on a healthier, more active, and all around better me. My job has me eating and drinking… a lot! So naturally my diet was the first thing I had to adjust, and knowing how much I needed serious structure to stick with it, I opted to do the Whole 30 for my third time. Such serious restrictions mean it can be really hard to find food you can enjoy at restaurants, and last time around had me having lunch meetings at coffee shops with meal prepped food in plastic containers. This time around I was determined to expand my repertoire of options for dining out, and knowing about BFF Café’s focus on healthier, cleaner food was really exciting. So after a Sunday morning of drinking Kombucha and eating date bars at the bar with friends who were enjoying adult beverages, we all had a hunger that had to be satisfied and BFF came up in conversation. It sounded perfect to me because I knew I’d have a variety to choose from, a rarity while dining in my situation, so we headed that way. BFF has an interesting flow when you walk into the restaurant. Immediately on your left is a cold case filled with their Fuel Packs, which are grab and go, portion controlled items that you can heat at your leisure. In front of that is the register counter where you’ll find menus and place your order, and behind that is the soda fountain. The idea is that you’ll walk up and grab a menu, find a table, and come back to the counter to order, but being our first time, we all stood there in front of the register creating a bottleneck until someone pointed us toward a table. There are two menus at BFF, a green one with healthier options and an orange one with more flexible fare. I really liked how they offered flexible«bread» options made from either chickpea or cauliflower, for the sandwiches, as well as showed a light nutritional breakdown of the dishes including calories, protein, and carbs, and how the staff could answer most any question you might have about ingredients. I ordered a zoodle(zucchini noodle) dish called«The Hunter», which had braised beef, broccoli and red potatoes with a chimichurri sauce. I subbed the red potatoes for sweet potatoes and added purple cabbage and avocado to the dish as well. I expected a big healthy bowl of zucchini noodles topped with moist braised beef and veggies, and what arrived was not that. There was a medium sized portion of zoodles, about 4 – 5 small broccoli florets, undercooked and crunchy sweet potatoes, a few thin slices of avocado, dry/crispy beef that looked like it had been fried prior to plating, all of which was sort resting atop some green oil(chimichurri). The food did not resemble the fresh dishes shown on their website, it was pretty bland in flavor, and it didn’t live up to what I’d hoped it would be at all. My dish, regularly $ 11, was $ 14 with the additions I made, and I just didn’t feel the value was there with several other places serving similar dishes for less. The bison burger from the green menu that my friend had was perfectly cooked and was something I would come back to check out, and the sandwiches from the orange menu that came to the table looked tasty and similar to the food served at SODO, which is owned by the same people. I had high hopes that BFF would knock it out of the park for me and become a place I’d go out of my way to get to in my regular rotation, but I left wanting more. If I’m in the area or asked by friends to come back, I’d probably do it and be sure to try some of the other dishes.

Litterly in my backyard and open for almost a year. Over the weekend we finally tried It. A small café in a small strip in a residential neighborhood. The previous café closed a couple of years ago and it’s nice to see a new one open. This spot has about 8 tables, and a dozen counter seating spots. Counter seating has USB charging ports if you want to work and eat. Menus are at the counter, you can pick up a healthy menu and a regular menu and take a seat. When ready to order go back up to the register. You’ll get a number and food will be brought to the table. Drinks are self serve. They also have a refrigerated case that stocks quick healthy bites to go. The hubby had the BBQ chicken sandwich that came with onion straws, cheese and sauce. And choice of fries, sweet potato fries, quinoa salad or salad. He almost inhaled, said it was very good for $ 11. I tried the bison burger with mushrooms, blue cheese, lettuce and tomato for $ 16. Burger was cooked to a perfect med rare and had nice flavors. The difficult part was picking it up to eat, it wasn’t on a bun. It was on a chickpea flat bread. Interesting but part way thru I was done with the bread. Still torn about lunch, but I would like to try breakfast here. I’m not a huge breakfast out person because of the grease. But I believe this spot could offer a better alternative.

This place is awesome! They have options for anyone with any dietary preference. My wife and I got the veggie burgers and they are super vegan friendly and everything is absolutely delicious. My mother got a turkey burger with cheese and she loved it! This place will definitely be our Sunday go to!

Great food and service! I built my own plate with 3oz Tri tip, ½ cup if veggies and sweet potatoes. Rounded my meal with a Sobe Lifewater. This was my first time eating here. Price was reasonable, less than $ 12. Working on eating more healthy meals, so this café is a great choice to meet my goal and a better alternative to fast food. You can get your food to go as well, so it’s great for on the go! I will definitely be returning to this place!

A great concept and whimsical approach. I like that they offer a cooler of ready made meals to go along with their menu. The counter service and self serve area for beverages doesn’t really appeal to me, but I understand it’s a business tactic to reduce costs of labor. Ingredients are fresh and quality, but some of the results are less than impressive. Associated costs for healthy options are of course high, so the prices reflect this. We had the cauliflower pizza for my kids to share(they are 1 and 3 so the portion was fine, any older and it would be a bit small), a chicken sandwich from the green menu and one from the red. I enjoyed the chickpea flatbread and the goatcheese spread on my sandwich, but the chicken in both our sandwiches was the blandest driest chicken I’ve ever had in my life. a thin pounded chicken breast grilled within an inch of it’s life but completely lacking any kind of seasoning. So so ridiculously dry. The Cauliflower pizza was tasty, I’d suggest the veggie chunks be cut smaller so it’s easier to eat, but flavor and texture was appealing. Husband had a peppermint mocha«latte» that was absolutely disgusting. It was a premeasured cup of cashew based creamer chock full of stevia(which I hate) that you pour premade coffee into. A latte should be steamed milk and espresso, so the name of the product was pretty misleading but we were there to try something new. 2 chicken sandwiches, a cauliflower pizza, a «latte» and bottle of water came out to $ 38. I’m still willing try some of their other offerings, but my husband says he isn’t interested. He says the stuff they offer is like the stuff we cook at home for cheaper but hey, sometimes I’m busy and out with the kids so having a healthy option still may draw me back.

The food that I had was so so. I got the veggie burger which is just your generic garden patty. They put it on this flat potato bread then a mash sweet potato that’s is like a sauce for the burger. It was too much potato. The fries are quite tasty though. The overall atmosphere is cute. Clean, simple and trendy.

This is my new favorite place to go! Pro’s: Healthy Food. You can eat out and not feel guilty or sick. Packaged/Portion Means to go Cauliflower Bread(need I say more?) Con’s: Price, they are very expensive. Some of the Green Menu meals are a bit bland. I haven’t tried the Red(Splurge) menu. Area size, it’s hard to find a place to sit and eat during peak hours. The first time I went here I had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich on Cauliflower Bread with the Garden Vegetable Soup. We ordered the Cauliflower Crusted Pizza as a appetizer. The Cauliflower Crusted Pizza was the best part! It was small but full of flavor! The Grilled Chicken Sandwich was bland and dry. The Garden Vegetable Soup was also bland. The second time I went I tried the Bison Burger on Cauliflower Bread. Wow, taste bud overload! It’s a thick patty with spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, Blue Cheese and Balsamic Dressing. It’s become my favorite. I tried it again a week later and it was still a fav. In the cooler section they have Protein Packs. I was able to load up on the yummy cauliflower bread and buy my own sugar free individual cake. They have a cake mix in a cup that one microwaves. For a healthy cake option, it’s pretty good. I hope as they become more busier, their prices come down. They are certainly in the pricer side.

So, an omnivore and his vegetarian, pescetarian, vegan, paleo and gluten-free friends walk into the same restaurant for lunch. An hour later, all leave satisfied. That’s it, that’s the punch-line. Despite the potential humor/horror of a chef attempting to cater to every modern dietary concern, the creative cuisine being served at BFF Café is no joke. The sign says«your body’s best friend» and the menu is «powered by SoDo». Fitness magazines are casually laid out on the fireplace coffee table and the parent SoDo Restaurant is known for fresh ingredients, so right away you know processed foods won’t be on the menu. The décor is simple and stylish with seating for perhaps 50 plus patio seating for warmer months. Ordering is informal; menus available at the counter, place your order and seat yourself. One thing I found odd was being directed to serve myself water from a soda fountain set behind the counter, yet our food was delivered to the table. Maybe it’s just me. There are two menus. The green menu features high protein, low fat dishes with nutritional information listed for each. The orange menu is full of American favorites including buffalo wings, fajitas, chicken fingers and sandwiches including cheesesteak and french dip. We were there to try the green menu, but if the orange is anything like the food at SoDo it’s probably pretty good. Cauliflower pizza has become a trendy option for those avoiding gluten and/or carbs. BFF’s version is served as two 5″ mini pies with grilled chicken, red sauce, roasted red pepper, red onion, goat cheese, mozzarella, and fresh basil($ 8). I don’t know the recipe for their«crust», but most involve steamed and pulverized cauliflower blended with cheese, egg and other ingredients to form a sort of dough. In fact, the texture reminds me of undercooked pizza, but not in a gross, doughy way. It’s not really pizza, but it is packed with a ton of flavor and nutrition. Zoodles are long, thin strands of zucchini used in place of pasta. You can blanch them a bit to make the texture more pasta-like, but the entire house zoodle salad was raw including zoodles, cucumber, onion, tomato, goat cheese, mixed greens, lemon house dressing, and red pepper coils($ 8). The dressing was very good and the flavors were well-combined, though I think the greens got lost amongst the mounds of shredded zucchini. We went veggie but you can add chicken, prawns, salmon, or tri-tip for an additional fee My wife’s clucker bowl($ 11) was loaded with grilled chicken, zoodles, cabbage, peppers, red potato and red onion, lightly drizzled with blue cheese dressing. Again, I think the amount of zoodles overwhelmed a bit, but the chicken and potatoes were tender and well-seasoned. My wife was more than pleased with her selection. I wandered off the veggie train with a beefalo burger($ 14) sporting an 8 ounce blend of ground beef and bison, blue cheese crumbles, spinach, balsamic-marinated tomato, and mushrooms sandwiched between two squares of grilled falafel bread(cauliflower bread can be substituted for $ 3 extra). I was pleasantly surprised with the«bread» and it held up well to the well-topped burger. The meat was cooked exactly to order and the mix of flavors and textures worked remarkably well. In other words, I really enjoyed it. The quinoa salad I chose as a side was less amazing, but my wife happily added it to her bowl. Next time I’ll order the cauliflower sticks. This place is just getting started but I think they’re on the right track. I’m told they’ll be replacing the beefalo with a pure bison burger, and breakfast offerings are in the future. If you’re looking for healthy options that are both delicious and filling, BFF Café could indeed become your best friend forever.

Cool place. The menu is fun and creative. I had the bison burger. It was cooked perfectly. The bun caught me off guard. It was made up of a cauliflower and cheese mixture that truly set this burger off. The texture was really good not your average burger by any means. You gota try this place.
