The new menu is full of great food. I love the chicken pesto, the sausage sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich. The appetizers are a delight as well — this is not your typical bar food. The beverages continue to be as good as ever and the renovated interior makes me feel comfortable and welcome. Enough writing, I’m going to go get myself an almond milk latte right now.

Although I am missing the old décor it is still my favorite cup of coffee…

Pretty good menu selection and the staff is very nice. They have jazz music in the evenings on some nights and it’s very entertaining. The coffee is pretty good and the art is amazing. I would say give this place a try if you haven’t been before.

Love love love the atmosphere and funny, friendly service. Nice to see smiling friendly faces. I’ve been a customer for years and look forward to having a little«me» time. Especially want to say thanks to Spencer, for lightning my day.

The newly renovated space is pretty nice but I feel like now it is an awkward clash between classy décor and a casual environment. There are almost always others in the coffee shop so it can be a fun environment as it is centrally located in Downtown Reno. At my most recent visit, the customer service was great! The menu varies quite a bit. I wish that the menu was a little more descriptive. Prices are vague and the ingredients for the drinks aren’t listed. As someone who has tried a lot of different coffees, it was embarrassing having to ask what was in some of their drinks. The drinks are pretty good and if I’m in the area, I almost always stop in. They have really good Mexican Mochas!

I have been coming to this coffee shop for years! I am so sad they changed the décor/set up. It’s not inviting. And quite frankly I don’t really like going now. But it’s fast and they have good coffee so what are you going to do? :\

Was craving a peanut butter smoothie and this was the only place open, and even though they didn’t have it on the menu, they delivered it to us! And the smoothie was AMAZING! Five stars all the way!

The wait for our food was excessive — perhaps 20 minutes or more — even when they were not busy. I mean how long does it take to make a couple of sandwiches and sides? The food was good after it finally arrived. But don’t come hungry or you’ll starve waiting for you food.

So my first review was more for the coffee side. Tonight I checked out the bar side It was a Monday night 8ish and the place was almost packed. Lots of college age kids and school hasn’t started yet. But it was also open mic night, and must be very popular. I came in to specifically try the espresso martini that was half price during the Unilocal Coffee Cult(ure) month. Wow. I could have sat and enjoyed several of those concoctions. But this late in the evening one was plenty– hence wired enough to write a review now instead of going to bed. Icy cold, glass criss crossed in chocolate syrup then filled with a fresh shot of espresso, vodka and a hint of cream. This martini lover was in heaven. I shall return. In fact Esteban and I will be having a discussion about putting this little spot on the happy hour list. Great location just off the river downtown. At night parking can be a challenge. Enjoyed a couple of the acts on stage and they weren’t so loud that you couldn’t hear others around. I also could have sat out on the large patio and taken in the nice Nevada evening with my cocktail. I recommend giving this spot a try

This place has always been great but I fear the place is straying from everything that made it great by getting to foofy instead of the eclectic little hippy coffee shop that it started as. We don’t need another slick high end coffee place with over priced goods.

Super impressed with the remodel! We went for the first time since the remodel a few nights ago and it is wonderful! The design is very fun and upbeat modern, the bartender was such a sweetheart and we actually enjoyed our conversation with her, everything was very clean and my Vodka Chai was to die for. They use the brew from next door(Java Jungle) for any of their coffee related drinks, if you know anything about Java Jungle you know they have some great coffee. I have to add, as to the one negative review I read… The bar is mostly blue now not green and looks NOTHING like a yogurt shop. The wall behind the bar is a really beautiful textured slate with a really neat«library» ladder. It looks very rustic and the entire surrounding area is done in different shades of blue and has a more modern feel, there is ONE green wall… You can’t go wrong!

I have been in the old Java Jungle a number of times and am loving the transformation into«The Jungle». I attended a UYE event here this morning to celebrate the Summer SOULstice. The remodeling is very nice It still has that urban, gritty, casual, hipster, too cool to be swank vibe with is perfect. The art work, painting on the walls, floor and counter all make it look a little more grown up but still cool. really like how they opened up the space between Java Jungle and Java Vino. The tile hallway makes a nice delineation between the two spaces, but taking our some of the walls between really makes both spaces much more usable. The blue, yellow and green colors with the new light fixtures and art work really add visual interest to the space. I had a Mexican coffee which was delicious with a slice of banana bread. The bread was very filling and not overly sweet. I got there early and the fresh pastries were not cooked yet. They don’t turn on the ovens until they open so if you don’t want day old cinnamon rolls, you have to either wait or come later. She forgot about my banana bread so I had to go back up to the counter to get it(not a huge inconvenience). Another minor quibble is they serve the coffee in paper cups. For dine in, it would be nice to have real cups. Nice place, friendly service, and a great place to sit and have a treat and use the WiFi.

The jungle is the newly renovated space that was once jungle vino. The remodel is beautiful, very modern and artsy. I came in for a glass and a small bite before heading home. The wine was great but the small bite was not. We had the hummus plate but it was just lackluster. There wasn’t really any presentation of the food to match the feel of the bar. It was just on a regular dinner plate that they didn’t even clean the olive juice off. The flatbread was extremely hard. It was more of the consistency of a stale saltine than flatbread. The bartender ended up comping the hummus plate because we just didn’t like it and $ 9 was a bit much for hard bread. I’ll try the jungle again in the future and hope that this experience was just because they are still in their soft opening.

So, the food is 5 star, the drinks are 5 star and the location is 5 star. Sounds like a 5 star joint to me. Matt and his staff have done a great job rebranding this place from a small coffee and wine joint to a great hangout, no matter the time of day. In the morning, I prefer the mexican mocha. None better in the area. In the evening, I prefer the whiskey collection — very nice selection. Either way, from the décor to the grub, you’ll love this place.

Java Jungle and Java Vino are now The Jungle. Both are open. You can order lunch at the bar(table service) and they will bring to you. Order your own at the coffee shop and bring in to the bar. Super casual. Have a much larger wine list now that they’ve had their grand opening this’s dr weekend. Couple of weeks ago we had limited choices. Just a nice local place for lunch. Or to just hang and have a glass of wine

Awesome location! I loved sitting here by the river in the open air. It’s great to be drinking wine and smelling coffee! It doesn’t get better than that! Haha

The new bar side just opened. Stopped in for lunch today. Very colorful bar annexed to the coffee shop. We had a sweet n spicy tuna salad sandwich rich Is served with him mad and corn chips on the side. Not a very big wine menu yet. The Pinot Grigio from Oregan did leave a little to be desired.

I always get great service here. It’s a good vibe when there aren’t too many homeless people lurking by the river, but other than that it was quaint. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because the regular coffee by itself isn’t very good and sometimes drinks can taste watered down. I would give more stars, but compared to other coffee shops in the area it doesn’t come close to the quality of coffee. However, I would give service 5 stars if I could.

Stopped in to have a bite with my sister, visiting Reno. Tried a pizza that the person behind counter recommended. The pizza was good, and the young man that helped us was nice. They had the front door held open, in January, mind you it was a sunny day, but the shop gets no sunshine directly inside. All the customers were sitting inside with full jackets on. It was freezing. Then, as we are trying to enjoy our cold pizza, a man, that had just been at 2 other tables talking, approaches our table,(we are 5 feet from the 3 employees standing at counter, stands and he stares at us, and asks us for the rest of our meal, while the employees stood by and watched and did not say a word. Is this a usual habit allowed at this place of business? It made for a cold, awkward lunch.

We used to come here a lot, and found ourselves back today when our favorite casino(you know, one of those places that says they LOVE locals?) told us no happy hours this Friday because, well, the holiday outa towners are here. Jungle Vino has definitely upscaled over the years… the days of the $ 1 glass of mystery red long gone. The cheapest glass is now $ 7, and they were out of that, so it was really $ 8($ 6 during happy hour). Janet our bartender was a pleasure– 2 stars belong to her.
