Nate is awesome! He’s professional, efficient, and good at his job… We never had to ask for anything as he was right there anticipating our needs before we even realised we needed anything!

I do not come here to eat dinner, but I did have some fries, and well fries are fries wherever you go, but my 5 stars are for the friendly staff. My husband and I love hanging out here just for drinks and good company. I have never met a staff member who has not treated us well. So when I see some negative comments regarding employees, I am wondering if those customers are just plain and simple demanding jerks. They have 1 person working the bar and you can’t blame them for being overwhelmed if it’s busy.

If I could give this p.o.s. «Business establishment» zero stars I would. They have this guy working there who looks like Bart Simpson, who goes out of his way to be a complete tool to anyone who is not a «regular». For example, he told me I could only have my food bagged in a trash bag… And then laughed. What an ass. I will not patronize this business when this loser is working again.

Never. I mean NEVER go there to eat… Over 2 hours for a hamburger! When told 3 times«well done» it came out raw… Great little bar for drinking but never go there to eat! Will NEVER be back! Go for the pizza next door!

I’ve only eaten chicken wings but they were delicious. Place is not a dive bar some people consider more of a local bar with a host of characters. The bartenders are quick with the beer and friendly to boot. my wife inquired about a bartending job and got the stink eye from a skinny white chick who proceeded to tell us reno was a «good ol boy town». my only neg comment about the joint.

This is such a great hidden hot spot. Hands down THEBEST club sandwich I’ve ever had. I crave this sandwich and its freshly thin sliced turkey on that fresh baked French bread. I was going there so often that I had to back off so they didn’t think I was crazy go in so often. The customer service is great /I always feel welcome and have a good time here– wether it’s for drinks or food!

I doubt we’ll be back. We’ve been here several times for drinks but this was our first crack at their«world famous burgers». I ordered the Out and In with cheese with onion rings instead of fries, Mr got the Western with fries. My burger was so small; like a mini hockey puck. The bun totally fell apart around it leaving me with a sloppy mass to try and navigate. I hate this more than anything! It doesn’t matter how fresh, delicious, unique, etc. your ingredients are if it all falls apart while I’m trying to eat it. The Thousand Island was good(I think?) but it didn’t matter as most of it, slathered all over the too big bun, ended up in a pile on my plate. A total fail. I thought that was especially odd because the patty for Mr’s burger was clearly bigger, meeting the diameter of the bun. But he remarked that he wished it would’ve been smaller because it was awful… No flavor to the toppings or meat and one side of the patty was burnt. The onions in the onion rings were sliced so very thinly that we couldn’t taste them at all. It was fried batter with half a string of onion to hold it together basically. I cracked one in half and the onion was seriously a hairs width, if that. Impressive knife skills for anything other than a battered onion ring. The Sysco fries were the best thing about our lunch… that really says it all. When we’ve been in the past for drinks we’ve had service ranging from the not friendly, not quite rude bare minimum(pour drink, take money, repeat) to the straight up rude(I’m trying to chat with the cute guy and make tips, quit bothering me for a refill). There are so many places to drink and eat in this town, these people will be just fine without our business.

We had a great visit when Chewy and Jugs hosted our friends’ wedding. The hosts set everything up well, and the evening was well orchestrated. I’m not into the bar scene but I liked how classy they made the wedding. It seems like a good place for a drink and some grub.

I can’t say enough good things about this place! Come get to know the bartenders and become part of the chewy family. Everyone is so real, loving, and awesome. Food is good. Beer is great.

The folks here are just the greatest people, love spending time here drinking a few beers and enjoying their company and a few laughs. The owner is a super good guy married to an incredibly warm and sweet lady. All the bartenders are funny, wicked smaht(remember the accent is required when reading that) really enjoy these people and this place.

The beer was Chewy, and the burger should have been served in a Jug… too bad I thought the name was talking about the waitresses. Too bad there isn’t a Hooter’s near by(that I know of).

Yeah… went there around dinner time to check it out. There was one bartender, one dude in the kitchen and five extremely drunk people climbing(literally) all over the bar. Bad country music on the jukebox. I ordered a chicken sandwich. The menu said it would be a «generous» hunk of meat. When I got it, it was a soggy roll with a teensy-tiny little piece of half-burned chicken on it. By «tiny» I mean it was less than two ounces. Almost nonexistent. How the cook thought that qualified as a chicken breast, I have no idea. Totally not going back there again. Maybe it’s a good place to go get tanked at 4pm, but if you want to eat a decent burger and drink some beer without having to listen to drunk people screaming over bad music, go to Brickie’s.

This review is for the burgers only. I have been there several times with the family. I have tried the out N in burger and the new york burger. Both were made to order, not over done, and had great seasonings. The only real downfall was that they overload the new york burger with way too many onions. Will definately be going back.

Fellas, this ain’t a dive bar. For a detailed description on what a dive bar is please read my review on another mislabeled establishment. What makes me want to go out and drink, other than dealing with people all day long, is to experience a good bartender at their craft. I appreciate someone who takes pride in what they do. I think all the bartenders here are tip top. They keep track of your gamling, so if you’re firing at the bonus poker you can get your drinks comped. Their dry rub chicken wings are the best!

You know, I’m a fan of dive bars. They’re full of burly, don’t-fuck-with-me guys(and gals, just… not«burly»). This can make for a pretty great experience. It means: a) You aren’t forced to listen to Top 40 hits like Justin Bieber(although I heard Party in the USA, no one really paid attention to it). b) There will likely be pool tables. c) Cheap drinks with a no-priss attitude. d) Cool people to talk to, or they’ll leave you alone. I saw those burly types. Unfortunately, I also saw the ever-present«Frat Bro» here too. And sorostitutes. Now, don’t knock a bar for not being a well-kept secret, but having to interact with those guys is like looking over at my dog and I see him taking a dump on the patio… not appealing. At least I don’t have to hear my dog throw around overused catchphrases and spilling beer all over the place. The bartenders, they’re cool people. I’d give this place 5 stars if I had tried their food(err…if the food is worthy of an extra star, of course). Getting a hold of the bartender was quick and I had a beer in front of me momentarily. When my friend demanded the bartender give me another beer despite my protest for water, I shook my head a little and he understood. When I asked for the bar to cut said friend off, he did so without hesitation. See… that is awesome. Other than a couple of my pet peeves, this is a great bar to hang out at. I apparently missed the part of K R.‘s review that mentioned they had Pacman, so guess that means I’m going to make another trip there, because I am a nerd.

Ahhh Chewy’s, what can I say about my favorite dive bar in Reno? This place is great for a good time if you don’t feel like going downtown and getting too crazy, and it’s very casual and down to earth. You will meet all kinds of people at this bar. Chewy’s has shuffleboard, a pool table, pacman, darts, video poker, and different events that the bar puts on all year. The bartenders are all really cool, they try to get to know every patron of the bar and are awesome! They pour great drinks too =] The happy hour is legitttt! Starting at 10pm every night they have $ 1.75 domestic drafts and $ 2.50 wells, and the cocktails are served in pint glasses! The food is soo good too. It’s typical bar food of course, but nonetheless really good. I personally LOVE the hot wings, I think I could eat them everyday! The burgers are their claim to fame though, great burgers. The ONLY bad thing is that there is a $ 15 minimum on credit card charges, and because the drinks are so cheap it can be difficult to get to that tab. So my only suggestion is to bring cash, however they do have an ATM in the bar. Oh and beware of the occasional frat guy, lol. But I love Chewy’s!

This is another place that my boyfriend and I go to while we do our laundry… And I always have a nice experience. The barteneder is really, really nice and cool and everytime we go in we get some sort of entertainment. tonight we got to watch a beligerient fool bully another poor guy. It was hilarious and we had a good time watching it. The drinks are totally full of alcohol and good priced! Good happy hour, good music. Its kind of trashy, but it has character for sure. I love going to a bar where you can have a good time and you don’t have to pay much! I don’t need a super nice enviornment to have fun, as long as I have good company!

Our old neighborhood bar back 10 years ago, college, post college. I know the crowd got younger and I got older but still a great place to drink. The best was rolling in right after after snowboarding and the bartenders were all our friends who hooked us up. Mind erasers and a beer… code word… 2 and 2
