This place is completely ridiculous! My daughter received birthday money and decided to go in this salon being we live near by to get a full set of nails, the nail lady did a horrible job painted them the complete wrong color that was asked for, and when she messed up one nail said it would be $ 10 to fix, at that point my daughter got up and walked out. I then called and demanded a refund which I was told to come back in and they would refund me, when I walked in she came up to us and asked what the problem was and when we said she completely denied all if it!
To top it off while my daughter was in another customer came in and wanted to get her hair cut and dyed the hair stylist that was sitting down playing on her cell phone said it couldn’t be done for a half hour to come back, when the customer leaves another associate asked what did she want and the stylist tells her what the customer wanted, but then says I’m not done playing on my phone yet! Really no wonder there was no customers in there at all when I went back to get our money! This place is horrible and a complete joke!

This was my first experience at this salon but I decided to give it a try because it is close to my house. Scheduled an appointment for a pedicure and they were able to get me in when I needed to without a problem. However, the girl who did my pedicure was obviously quite inexperienced (possibly even not licensed) and kept complaining about the tools she had to use and seemed irritated when I told her that the water in the foot bath was way too hot. She was VERY rude to an older woman who came in to ask a question and showed no professionalism or customer service at all. The nail polish selection is very limited. I had to pay $ 40 for this sad excuse for a pedicure which is double what I pay at my usual place in Sparks. Take your money and your toes else where.

Crystal does the best. I’d recommend her to everyone :) she does great with coloring, cutting, and styling. I love her attitude and outlook on life. She will do great for you!

We chose this salon because it was close to where we live. My husband took my teenage daughter in because I had prior engagements. She had a picture on her phone which was a simple cut with layered bangs. The stylist had to look at the picture several times and it turned out nothing like the picture. Absolutely NOTHING! She came home looking like her ends were trimmed uneven in the back and her bangs looked like a 4 year old chopped them with craft shears. We are already tight for cash and now have to go elsewhere to fix what this «hair butcher» did to my teenager. It would’ve been far more professional for the «stylist» to straight up say I cannot do that style instead of butchering my daughters beautiful very very long hair. Shame on you Shannon! You should be fired!

I scheduled a much needed appointment for a color and cut on 2÷13÷15 (it had been over a year since my last one), I warned them on the phone that I had a lot of hair, like mermaid style curls and well down my back, I was told this would be no problem and to come on in.
When I arrived at the appointment, I could tell my stylist was irritated. She tried several times to convince me to just dye the bottom or top section of my hair… which I didn’t want. When I insisted that she dye my whole head, she then informed me of the costs… obviously with hair this length I am fully aware of the costs and time it takes, this is not my first rodeo with hair this length. She had an outrageous attitude, you would’ve thought I’d ask her to take me from her black to platinum blonde in one setting… After listening to her her huff and puff for over an hour, my hair was finally dyed.
While my color is nice, it isn’t what I asked for… not even close. I requested that my hair stay around the same shade but just even out different colors is previously had in my hair… I got super dark mahogany hair. The cut is okay, those layers she promised… yeah not so much. I won’t be returning unless every other salon in Reno, Carson City, and Dayton is booked.
What really pissed me off the most is that it was my birthday. I’d taken a personal day off of work, am new to the area, and this salon was recommended to me. Between two of the stylists bad mouthing their coworkers, listening to Nancy (another stylist) who was excessively boisterous and talked about disgusting things to her client, and my stylist who clearly would’ve rather done anything then do my hair, it was a miserable experience.
Over $ 150.00 for a cut and color, a miserable experience, and getting my birthday off to a horrible start… Curl Up and Dye, I salute you on being the tackiest and overpriced salon for mediocre hair services in Northern Reno. Please close your doors, so you don’t subject others to your extremely unprofessional demeanor and comments.

Not impressed with the attitude of the staff. I arrived 10 minutes late for my appt.-clearly not their fault. But I was then told that she already had someone else at that exact time, so could I come back tomorrow? Seriously, my appointment would have taken over an hour, but she already had someone else booked for 15 minutes after my appointment. Too bad I would have tipped her well. But who needs an attitude from a salon when there are so many to choose from. Obviously I won“t be back tomorrow.

I call for a brow wax and they say «come in whenever’. No appointment is helpful but never means good business. I waited 32 minutes once i got there and while i waited i saw a mediocre salon with hair on the floor that hadn’t been cleared in a while. No greet. No hello. A «just wait in that chair» as a «hello». Long story short, a simply brow clean up was a complete botch. The girl doing my brows only spoke to me to complain about a mom calling to have her son brought in for a «fade» and what a pain in the ass she was. When she was done and completely unevened my brows, her only comment was that my brows were «sisters, not twins». I see this place as one that does radical hair colors as they promote only that. I won’t be back. I would give 1 star but for the fact that I didn’t have to make an appointment.

went in just to get my bangs trimmed. The lady said it would be 15 to 20 minutes. An hour and 10 minutes later I’m still sitting there telling her I don’t have time to wait I’m going to leave– even though she’s just been chatting with all of her customers & showing no sense of alacrity. Also the lady sitting next to me is waiting for her nail person to show up– she waits 45 minutes past her appointment time and finally gives up and leaves.
Finally get my bangs trimmed, not the best job ever and get up to the register and she charges me for a full haircut. What a cluster to get my money back since I put it on a charge card.
on another note I have witnessed two separate feuds on Facebook. one between the owners and one where the owner is berating former employees. Too many salons in this town to deal with this kind of drama.

Do not come here! if you are unhappy about anything or talk about anything personal to the owner she really will put it on facebook and send you threats and harass you! seriously, just look her up and you will see what you may get sucked into. you should be able to enjoy yourself stress free when you are paying for a service, but you wont get that here, just a crazy trip and days of harassment.

What I said in my original review is correct, I still think the ladies here are super nice, and I believe they DO care about what they do…
HOWEVER… that was 4 days ago. I noticed the next day, after my hair went back to it’s normal curly self, that the color I had her put in it… my gorgeous «unnatural» shade of teal, isn’t able to be seen hardly at ALL. I asked for streaks of COLOR. I said I wanted something Unnatural. They asked me what my favorite color is (green)… and went with teal. Barely any teal, underneath my hair. I asked for a haircut too, I wanted it layered the way it is, only shorter. Take off the dead ends, give me a cut. She literally ONLY took off the ends, it turns out.
Now part of it is my fault, I guess. I gave her the reins, told her I wanted something new. She took that as straighten my hair, and trim just the tips. So now that my hair is back to it’s naturally wavy self, what I have is the same length, the same color, with a once in a while slight peek-​a-​boo look at a flash of color at the bottom of my hair. But only if you look closely.
All of that… for $ 70.00 (and that was with a $ 10.00 discount!), plus I gave a $ 15.00 tip… so $ 85.00, for I’m not sure what?!? I went to the store the other day to get Bed-​Head color protecting shampoo… but then my daughter asked me why I would do that, when I have great Tea Tree Oil shampoo at home. Do I really CARE if the teal stays in? No one can see it anyway. And when I put my hair up, the part you DO see, is just the baby hairs around the base of my neck… but the actual strands that have the color on it, stops about an inch from the base of my head. So… I have strips of an inch of brown, followed by teal. Really… that looks kinda tacky. So no. I don’t need to keep that color in, and I probably won’t go back there again. I could have gotten just as good of a job done (possibly better), for a lot less money, at one of the local beauty schools.

I walked in today, no appointment necessary which was awesome! It was a very clean and relaxed environment. The cost of my hair cut was so cheap, and my stylist, Shannon, did such a great job I had to give her a good tip, especially considering the low price of the cut! I will definitely be making another appt with Shannon again; she did exactly what I wanted, without pushing me to get something different like a lot of stylists do. Two thumbs up!

Shanon did a great job rescuing my eyebrows after they were butchered by the last salon I went to. I walked in looking like The Rock, left feeling normal again! I will definitely come back and I hope I find someone just as good when I I back to Vegas :)

I went into this salon one time. The first thing I noticed was how unclean the environment was. ESPECIALLY for a salon. There was visible hair on the floor that had not been swept. And I had to walk around to avoid slipping. All I asked for was a bang trim. The stylist who was going to perform the service seemed very confused on how I wanted my bangs cut. I noticed all the hair stuck in her brushes and was so uncomfortable I got up and left without getting the service done. Aside from my experience I also came across the owners FB page. My intention was to let her know of my experience and to see if I could come back and see her… But all of that changed as soon as I looked at her page. I noticed her bad-​mouthing employees and making threats to her former stylists. I am appalled at this kind of behavior especially from a business owner! To be quite honest I feel for my safety if I were even to consult with her on a business level because I’m certain I would get the same treatment she is displaying on her FB account. This salon will NOT BE RECOMMENDED to anyone by me for sanitation purposes and lack of professionalism.

My mother has ethnic hair and its been a challenge to have someone style it or cut it correctly without damaging it. My mother and I stopped by explained what we wanted and were taken care of. My mothers hair looked amazing. I was soo impressed. .this is her go to place now!

Today was a very stressful day today and I thought I would treat my self to a full set of acrylics after having a wonderful consaltation with a girl named Jen. she gave me the advice to try and give gel nails another go after my last exxperince She worked quickly effortlessly and did a slpended job. I will never go back to acrylics again and never use another nail girl again. If you like a shop that feels like the movie beauty shop this is the place is you.

A very nice clean shop. My stylist Elysia cut my hair and did an excellent job! I will be back and have her cut my hair again. I would highly recommend her to any guy who can not get a consistent haircut.
