There food is always well proportioned, served hot, tasty and consistant. I have been going to various Jimboys since the early 90’s all the way from Cali to Nevada. They remain a decent choice.

Tucked away in a little side street off of McCarran near UNR is my favorite guilty pleasure, Jimboys Tacos. It’s a Sacramento-based Mexican fast food franchise, but it is worlds away from Taco Bell. Sometimes when I’m barely enduring a boring class I’ll promise myself that I’ll get Jimboys for lunch, and it never disappoints. They have a standard menu of beef, chicken, or pork tacos, enchiladas, and burritos, and also offer salads and burgers. They also have several vegetarian options. They have daily specials as well, ordered by the day of the week and they are a good deal. However, I’m a sucker for the chicken tacos and enchiladas(every item can be upgraded to chicken for some extra coin) and I never miss out on the refried beans and Spanish rice. They even add a nice salad with jalapeños and tomatoes with the combo plates. They have a nice salsa bar inside, and the drive-thru is a convenient option. This is classic, old-school, Mexican restaurant food that isn’t that easy to find anymore. It’s a good buy and good food, made with care. What more can you ask for?

Super super slow and incorrect order It took 15 minutes for me to get my order or one tamale to go. And when I opened it at home it was an enchilada. For almost 6 bucks for a cup of rice and a «tamale» I would like to ATLEAST get what I asked and paid for.

As far as fast food tacos go, this chain is the best in town. As much as I love me some Taco Bell, these are my go-to snacks when I am up at UNR. Not much else can be said. Good food. Decent price. Tacos. Also, I saw another review that went out of it’s way to point out that(and I’m quoting here) «HUGHIGH» was near this place. Not sure why they pointed that out besides wanting to affiliate the bad rap that the school has with this place(I guess)? Hug is a good school with teachers who are trying to deal with having no funding and have nothing to do with the tacos served at Jimboys. Beware skewed reviews!

this is the same jimboys reviewed on clear acre lane. the worst managed franchise i have ever been in! Close to a high school. campus(HUGHIGH). Very expensive. for what you get. Buyer Beware!!! Don’t ask for extra item’s because you Will pay, but not receive. If your bag that u get from the DT window is light… you will know that it has nothing to do with less calories.

WORSTJIMBOYSEVER !!! No stars would be better to describe this place. RUDE ! Pulled up to the menu.(Open till 1130)(open drive thru sign on) and they turned off the lights then shut the blinds to the window. Didn’t even have the DECENCY to tell us they closed. DONOTGOHERE

My mom and I did the drive-through tonight, and there was someone in front of us ordered three tacos and a taco salad. It took the people there about 10 minutes to cook their entire order, and then give it to them. My mom and I ordered a taco 6-pack and a chile relleno, and it took about the same amount of time to get our order, all through drive through. They were working really slowly, and not really caring how long it took to complete one order. I get home, and open my chile relleno, and then there’s pico de gallo that I never asked for on top of it, and the heat from the food really intenseified the heat from the pico de gallo. I really don’t like getting things on my food that I never asked for.

This place was nasty. My burrito was so soggy that I couldn’t even hold it in my hand. I should a gone across the street to aldertos now that place is good. I will never go there again

Jimboys. Had this one as a «to go» bought by my foreman because we worked through lunch to get the job done a day early so we didn’t have to come out. Those three tacos were some of the best tasting tacos I have ever had in my 43 long years. They hit spots I didn’t know I had. And the salsas were really good. So good that when a co-worker dropped one on the ground and it busted, he awwwed like it was an ice cream cone. So three stars for«to go» tacos and salsa. Nothing more to see here, move along and try them for yourselves if you expected more in my review. I will say that I plan on returning to this Jimboys in the future to see just how good they do their breakfast burritos with chorizo. Because the one on Sullivan nails the Chorizo burrito better than anywhere in town.

Not sure why this Jimboys has bad reviews. I’ve eaten at this location several times and have received food and service just as good if not better than the other Jimboys in town. Their regular beef tacos are fantastic but my favorite are the bean and cheese burritos.

Had bad service here & food here before & swore never to go back. Went back today anyway because I live close to it. BIG mistake that I promise I will never make again! Looked at menu & saw I could get a regular salsa cruda for 39 cents or a large for 75 cents. Lady told me they didn’t sell it in the large size. Lady from kitchen started yelling through window the only large salsa cruda wad $ 2.00? I made her come around & look at menu & see what it said. They both showed me the regular size container, tried to convince me it WAS the large suze & told me they were out of the smaller size. I’ve been going to Jim Boys for 40 yrs & it WAS the reg size! She showed me the next 2 larger sizes. One was twice the size of the regular & she refused to say it was a large. Horrible customer service considering you can get all the salsa you want at their salsa bar. I asked for both of their names & requested the owner’s name & they refused! This time I guarantee I’ll never go back due to the rude, incompetent employees. I will always go to the Jim Boys on 2nd st. Great food & always fantastic service there… even though I live close to the Clearacre one and will have to drive several miles to the 2nd St one. My advice is to steer clear of this location!

I got a plate with a burrito, rice, beans, and a taco. It was okay, but I’ve had better. I was expecting the taco to be better especially, but it wasn’t that great.

What the hell is wrong with this Jimboy’s? They deserve a –5 start rating! We ate there recently and everything tasted like shit. Nasty ass red grease was dripping all over everything. Krista, sorry you had to go to this hell hole for your first experience of Jimboy’s, but I assure you that they are not all this shitty. Jimboy’s in general has really tasty food. When we were there, the restaurant was out of napkins. WTF!!! How does a fast food establishment run out of napkins? Especially one that has nasty ass greasy food. If you’ve got a Jimbo’s craving, make sure you bypass the Clear Acre location!!! Your bad, if you don’t.
