Went here for the first time tonight… SOGOOD!!! I recently moved to reno from the bay area and hadn’t ventured out to find a sushi spot yet… well this is the one from now on. Inexpensive prices, good sized rolls and fast service. The owner immediately greeted us up one arrival and made sure everything was ok which I really appreciate. Definitely try this place, you won’t be sorry.

Though the service was good, my sushi was not good quality. My appetizers also tasted microwaved. Would not recommend.

I created a Unilocal account just so I could write this, and hopefully save some of you NON-Sushi eaters like myself. My wife loved the sushi. She said everything came out quick, delicious, exactly what she wanted, and with a friendly smile from the staff. My experience was not so wonderful. I ordered myself the most expensive Bento box available. Kitzmo Short Rib Bento. While the food took about 30 – 35 minutes to cook… i was reluctant to eat the cold, over-salted edimame, and drink the cold yet delicious(damn them) miso soup. When my bento box came out oh jeez. It comes with a salad, which had delicious dressing… but it was running off the lettuce as it was sopping wet. So before I got to eat ¼ of the salad it was drowned like the titanic. The bento box comes with a medely of fried foods for some reason. Fried green bean, cucumber, even potato. It couldn’t have been more misplaced or oily. The short rib was mostly bone, covered with sinue and fat. No real meat, and what meat you did get was dry and overcooked beyomd belief. It’s rare I pay $ 20 for a meal, and walk away starving. I walked myself to the tacobell across the street and took care of my hunger. As far as I’m concerned, taco bell or any fast food establishment will give you a better bang for your buck. If you’re a sushi eater, its great. If you’re into sushi/fusion restaurants… this one is not for you. I encourage the owners or anyone working there to contact me, so I can give them my two cents directly.

Seriously THEE best sushi in town. This place is a hidden gem that I love bringing my friends to. If you have the chance to try their sushi I really hope you do! Who else gives you free sushi after 10 stamps?

This was such a good sushi restaurant! The food was at a reasonable price and was really filling. The waiters there were also kind and friendly. I would really suggest the dragon ball sushi. The music was nice, and I would come back anytime! Thank you David Seong(and everyone else)!

I don’t often leave bad reviews. I have actually been here before for lunch. I had a bento box and thought it was great. However, this time we decided on AYCE and it was a serious debocle. The manager was very polite but it was apparent that they were understaffed. It took a long time for us to be approached initially for our drink order, they wanted all four of us to have our orders on the same ticket, so when food came out in waves, one person might get what they ordered, but everyone else ended up waiting over a half hour to sample their own sushi choices. Speaking of sushi choices, we recieved several cheaper rolls that we didn’t order and less than half of the ones we did order and almost none of the nigiri. I’ve worked in a lot of kitchens, so I understand a bad day, but the staff’s complicit behavior in the face of poor food and poor service kinda seems like this is the norm.

Unilocal only allows me to place minimum 1 star but I would give it 0 stars. I went to Kitzmo for dinner and the restaurant was at full occupancy with only 2 servers. We could not get the servers to come and take our order for at least 15 minutes. Just for getting some water we had to ask the waitress at least 3 times. When we finally got our orders in, it took 30 minutes to get the food to us. We actually saw 2 tables walk out because they could get any services. We ordered 4 sushi rolls and every one of the rolls were cold and not fresh. These were one of the worst rolls that I’ve had at a Japanese restaurant. I have no idea how Unilocal has them at 4 stars which is what drew me to the restaurant. I definitely would not recommend this to anyone.

Our group of 16 plus 2 infants enjoyed a wonderful meal here last night. The owner was onsite to greet us and had a special dessert created for our gluten free birthday girl. 15 of us enjoyed the all you can eat sushi and 1 had a bento box. They seamlessly worked around a shellfish and gluten allergy with superb results. I personally enjoyed the mussels, sake, and many rolls with lemon. Best of all our wait staff was attentive with water refills, additional order sheets, and splitting the check between group members.

Ok this place is gold. First time I’ve been here since the new ownership, and it’s definitely in good hands. Super nicer folks and the food is incredible. Prices are average but what you get for the price is above par. Try it out. It’ll stand above your favorite sushi place, guaranteed.

It was okay… The service was not the best. There’s nothing I specifically didn’t like about it. It’s just compared to other local places, KitzMo is just a place I will not be back to. I didn’t do the all you can eat, because I never do the all you can eat. I feel like they feed you in super slow bites so you don’t eat as much. I always just do the regular a la carte and end up paying about the same, but I get my food much faster. The rolls were okay, nothing spectacular. Nothing that I haven’t had better at a different place. Plus the service… well, she didn’t seem to understand what I wanted, so she brought me the wrong appetizer to begin with. Then when I explained that it wasn’t what I ordered, she started to argue with what I had said/not said. I told her to just bring me a new appetizer and that I would pay for it. She happily complied. I asked for sashimi and the first thing she did was point to it on the menu… as if I should realize that it is expensive before I order it. Someone who comes into a sushi place and asks for sashimi probably is a seasoned sushi eater and probably knows sashimi is not an cheap choice. Sigh… always have high hopes for sushi places in Reno… but just no luck yet.

After deciding to try a new sushi place, I turned to Unilocal for suggestions, and chose to go to KitzMo Sushi. My boyfriend and I ordered the gyoza as an appetizer, which was perfectly crispy and delicious. I ordered the Sierra roll first. It came out a little slow, but it was worth the wait as the salmon was fresh. Next I ordered the Rainbow roll and it was served without cucumber, despite the menu’s description. I was kinda bummed because cucumber is my favorite sushi ingredient. After having a piece of my boyfriend’s Hana roll, I ordered my own because it was that tasty. Then I ordered the Sora Maki, which was just okay(I prefer the rice on the outside of the seaweed paper). The sushi chef offered us something«special» which turned out to be sea urchin! It was interesting… When I put it in my mouth it seemed liked it disintegrated immediately. I wouldn’t order it or eat it again if offered. Then she gave us snow crab; now that was delicious. Next was dessert and I ordered mango mochi and my boyfriend ordered strawberry mochi. They were out of strawberry, but offered chocolate mochi which was not listed on the menu. I changed my order to chocolate, too. We had even commented that there wasn’t chocolate mochi earlier in the evening. Turned out they only had one chocolate left so we split it and split the mango, too! Sharing is caring! Overall, this place was pretty good and there are still a few rolls that I want to go back and try(including one with gyoza in it). Another Unilocaler said it best, there are a few other sushi joints I prefer over KitzMo, but if invited to go back I definitely would.

The sushi is amazing, the fish is fresh, the menu is unique, and the servers are friendly and attentive. But the chefs, I don’t know what is wrong. Every time we have come here, which has been every 2 weeks for the past few months, they mess up the order. Sending out the wrong rolls, inconsistent rolls, missing ingredients, replaced ingredients. Half the items we order we never receive. They don’t understand their own menu, and today they even messed up a simple tobiko nigiri by putting quail egg on top. It really is a shame, because the food is delicious. The frustration with ordering is getting old though.

The owner, Ernie, did a great job renovating this place! The sushi is great and I would recommenced everyone try this out at least once! I took a coworker here for lunch the other day and we had a really good experience. Right when we walked in it wasn’t very busy so we were able to sit up at the bar and get service right away. I started off with the Hanabi and upside down shrimp which was delicious, the tuna was very fresh and melt in your mouth good. I also ordered two other rolls, the mona roll and another one that was really good with a mixture of spices, fish and jalapeño which is my favorite thing inside a sushi roll! Another thing I really like about this place is the selection of rolls. Its not all the same style, you can get one with bbq sauce, habanero, jalapeño and even teriyaki! So much too choose from! I will definitely be back here to try more. The service was great and we were able to say hi to Ernie who was very attentive and said hello to all of his customers. By the end of our lunch the place was packed! I would say my experience overall was very positive and I am excited to come back again to try new rolls and of course bring more friends!

$ 22.95AYCE Dinner 3pm — 9:30pm 7 days a week. We came in on Sunday evening at 5pm, and baked mussels(which are creamy and delicious) included in the all you can eat, as well as 3 or 4 items from their appetizer menu. The chef was very attentive, as was the server. We never were kept waiting there at the bar, although it was pretty empty. All of the fish tasted fresh, and they have a big selection of rolls to choose from. There are a couple of big tv’s there with the NBA Finals playing. The place began to fill up as we were leaving. I was hesitant to come here, as my experience in this same building back when it used to be Sushi 7 was very disappointing. The chef asked if we wanted to try the sea urchin. Well we did, I am not a fan at all! It’s a brownish colour with the consistency of yogurt, and it tasted like what you might scoop out of the bottom of a fish tank. Actually it tasted like the ocaen, but super strong. It’s a very pungent flavour that stay with you. Try it if you dare! I thought it was cool that he offered us something unusual though. Try the: Kitzmo Godzilla(Deep Fried) — Cream cheese, godzilla roll with spicy crab on top, habanero sauce, teriyaki sauce Double Crunch — Tempura shrimp, cream cheese, avocado, tempura flakes, sweet mayo, teriyaki sauce Picoso(Deep fried) — Tempura shrimp, crab, cream cheese, jalapeño, cilantro, habanero, teriyaki sauce Diamond — Spicy crab, cucumber, albacore, yellow tail, avocado, tobiko, teriyaki sauce — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Didn’t like: Gyoza Sake — Fried potstickers, salmon, lemon slice, avocado, spicy crab Sea urchin nigiri — YUCK! — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - Happy eating!

When the sushi cravings hit, some of us ignore them. Some of us look for a new place and stuff our gobs full of sushi for one. straight. hour. LIke most sushi lovers, I have a place that is my go-to spot. But in the interest of spreading my wings, I found a review from Robert S. that made me decide to give KitzMo a try. Not to mention, I live on Mo, so it’s definitely convenient. Price-wise, it’s comparable to other places in the area, with a slightly different price for lunch and dinner. I started with the seaweed salad, which is by far my favorite appetizer option. Theirs was good, but a little saucier/sweeter than I am used to. Still tasty. Then I moved directly into the main event: the sushi. The kind of sushi I like is boring and doesn’t photograph well, so I can’t really compare variety in the menus between places. For me, it’s fish and rice. Their fish is fresh and clean tasting, and they have a good proportion of fish to rice(very important). The sushi chef was a delightful lady who made sure to let everyone know that it was her first day and she welcomed any feedback. She did a really nice job of making beautiful food, even if she was a bit slower than you might expect. The server was very attentive and friendly, asking me about the book I was reading and my plans for the day. I don’t know that this will be my regular haunt, but I definitely will keep it in mind when the urge strikes.

When was the last time you went into Kitzmo Sushi? Was it within the last 2 months? Then you know it’s improved. If it was longer than that… you need to go back. Ly and I used to go here very often. Like up to 3 times a month. The sushi chef there was awesome and knew just exactly how we liked it… then he left. Then someone was put in charge that I couldn’t trust with my food(especially raw) at all. But things have changed at Kitzmo. New owners! And with these new owners, a revitalized new Kitzmo! The previous owners/management were always awesome to us and treated us as friends. But I know that sometimes our experience wasn’t a typical experience that a regular Joe coming through the door got. I think that may have changed. The owners have been on hand every time we have come in. They have hired on some experienced sushi chefs that roll properly(smaller rolls) and have implemented a new menu and have brought in some new sauces. So tonight we gave the menu a try. Most of the things were awesome and flavorful and different. The menu did seem a little teriyaki heavy, and I gave them that feedback, but we were able to fill up on a good variety of rolls and flavors between the 4 of us. The star of the night was the white tuna. I honestly don’t know what this is, but it was really good. Simple as that. So again, if you have been to Kitzmo in the past and haven’t had a good experience… give them a try again. It’s almost a completely new place! But some things are the same. Vanessa is still giving great service and they still have(for now) the Wednesday all day Lunch price deal!

I ordered the vegetable udon noodles and that was really good! The service was fine but there was miscommunication between the owners and the waitress which lead to my party paying for things unexpectedly. I tried the sushi and it wasn’t that great, Reno definitely had better to offer. On average, the noodles are good but the sushi isn’t worth the price.
