This place is horrible!!! We waited over an hour and come to find out order was lost.

40 days and 40 nights… That’s about how long it took me to find this place inside the casino. But once I made it in, it was worth it. I was craving a really big fat pastrami sandwich and I was not disappointed. I loved the meat — sliced super thin, not too salty, crispy bark, and the bread, oh my LORT the rye bread, buttered and thick and gorgeously toasted perfectly. I asked — it’s local Franco’s rye bread. Too bad it turns out they only sell this rye direct to restaurants. So here’s what makes this story even more interesting… On the Facebook Reno Foodies page, I lamented that I would not be able to buy this bread as a consumer. Another member, Tracie B, turns out to be somehow to be connected with the casino. She managed to get me a loaf of that oh so precious Franco rye bread — «just come by and there’ll be a loaf with your name on it.» You just earned yourself a rabid fan, my friend. And no, you can’t have any of my precious Franco rye bread.

As the saying goes, Fool me once, shame on you Fool me twice fool on me and I am the fool. There were 12 people and half were eating. So after 35 minutes for a Reuben with potato salad. As the man says if your good keep doing it, not here. Once again a sloppy gooey mess, Not at all appealing. the salad is from a major supplier, Resses, I believe. Just not worth the $ 17. Nope.

Had the open faced Reuben with pastrami. It was wonderful as usual. The sandwich is huge, so my husband and I always split one. They split it for you and serve it on individual plates. The chicken noodle soup is the best ever. Just slightly salty with shredded rotisserie chicken. The best! This New York style deli never disappoints. The cheesecake is first rate. Have it with strawberries or blueberries. It phenomenal! We buy a whole one sometimes for the holidays. It’s a great value and you can freeze it if you don’t finish it. Always a great meal at Manhattan deli. The service is consistently good too.

I was craving Carnegie Deli’s Woody Allen(enormous half pastrami, half corned beef sandwich) so I ordered the similar double-decker at Manhattan Deli and was not disappointed. You could feed a family of four with it! The cheesecake: the cheesecake was light and creamy, one of the best I’ve had in a long long time BUT no cherry topping? Cherry and cheesecake were ordained by God to be together. The blueberry was good, but still… The service was fast and friendly, the location is easy in easy out — Atlantis Casino — and just minutes from the Reno airport.

I can’t believe I’ve never review this place! It’s as close to a NY deli as you’re going to find in Reno for B&W cookies and Chopped Liver. The knishes are ok but a far far cry from NY Style. The sandwiches are MAMMOTH so go hungry or split a sandwich; either way you’ll still need a doggie bag! The meal starts with a relish tray — pickles, cauliflower, carrots with a spicy kick. Yes, I miss the days when it was served on an actual metal tray. There’s never enough room for dessert but I HIGHLY recommend the brownies. You won’t be able to eat the whole thing even if you make a special trip just for dessert. Rich fudgey decadent — I usually take it home. Put it into the fridge. Cut it into 8 pieces. Try to eat it all in 3 days! After 3 days, I freeze it an crumble it over ice cream. Tons of seating options LARGE booths, tables, etc. Grab & go can be ordered a the mock deli counter. Service is nice. Full bar offerings with drinkable wines. The Good: The most picky eaters should be able to find something on this menu. It’s kid friendly — I was having a crazy day yesterday and they gave me a kiddie mat to color(it’s now zen for grownups to color) but only 3 colors of crayons. Atlantis comps are welcomed. The don’t rush you out so it’s great for a leisurely meal. The not so Good: You need a 2nd stomach to finish the meal but the silver lining would be take it home and have it for lunch the next day(it’s that good).

Go with a big appetite! I came here for lunch with coworkers during a conference and we had very little time. Right off we warned the waiter that we were on a very tight schedule and he was very accommodating. We had our drinks within 5 min and meals within 10 minutes(which was good since all we had was 30 min for lunch). He was even smart enough to bring the check with the meal to help us save time. The food. large portions. I had the Greek salad and only managed to finish half of it before getting full. I didn’t even touch the«large croûton» which was really a slice of very tasty garlic bread toast. Coworkers had the tuna salad sandwich and the burger. both were very large portions. Everyone had a smile on their face for how tasty it was. I would definitely come back when I have more time.

I have never been to NY, so rightfully, I don’t know what to expect from a NY style deli. But I never really had a bad experience here. Sometime service can be slow on a holiday from the influx of visitors but overall, staff here is always pleasing. I’d recommend the Lox and Bagel but if you’re like me, getting out of my comfort zone and trying different dish is fun here. Like, wtf is Gefilte fish?

Not half bad for a deli in Reno. The pastrami sandwich was really good. I would have gotten it toaster if I had known how easily it would fall apart. Huge matzo ball in the soup, that was yummy. I also really liked the knish! They offer knish topped with pastrami and melted cheese, my buddy got one and liked it. I tried the knish and it was good. The carrot cake looked amazing, I will have to come back to try. Try a New York Egg cream to drink, it’s like chocolate mike with soda water.

I’d honestly give this place 3.5 stars, but Unilocal doesn’t allow this… The deli is inside the Atlantis Casino Resort. Since the restaurant is open to the casino the smoke does travel in(which I hate). However we were sitting right at the edge of the restaurant at the chest height wall next to the casino; further, back into the restaurant I’m certain the smoke won’t be an issue. The restaurant is clean, had a cool retro deli décor. Even sitting right next to the Casino the noise level was low and having a conversation with my friends was easy. Our waiter was super friendly, but in the spirit of honesty he was my friend’s brother… We sat down in his section just because he was my friend’s brother; as a result, I am unable to offer an unbiased review of the service. The Grilled Cheese sandwich was really good(I inhaled it). It is grilled on thick slices of sour dough bread and filled with the cheese of your choice. While it isn’t the best grilled cheese I have had, I would definitely order it again. The fries were fries, nothing special. I would like to come back and sample more items from the menu, without my friend and his waiter brother and edit my review. Perhaps another day!

Once again, calibrated for the Reno market, this is a gem of a place because nothing else like it exists. In NYC it would probably be a 2 or 3 star. That being said, the food is huge. They give you a nice free pickle appetizer… Something I thought was pretty classy. Try to sit against the wall if smoke bothers you though… The air is much cleaner. Servers were good and the manager greeted us immediately when we got there… I had the corned beef Reuben. It was par for the course for me… Good, not exceptional, but for my hometown it was great. My dinner date had the shrimp Louis and thought it to be quite good. If you want NYC deli food, this is probably your only option and you could do a whole lot worse.

What brought me to the Manhattan deli was my terrible sandwich experience the other day at a chain sub shop. I was telling my Cuz who lives here in Reno, about that and how I had the urge for a nice juicy sandwich stuffed thick with meat just like you get at big city delis or Max’s Café restaurants in SF. She suggests The Manhattan Deli, inside the Atlantis Casino. Looking at some of the pics on their Unilocal listing, yeah, now that’s what I’m talkin’ bout … pastrami, ruban or roast beef sandwiches, piled high with sliced meats! We decide to head on over for a late lunch. It’s nice the restaurant isn’t crowded. No wait at all. I thought that with the closing of the buffet temporarily for remodeling till late March, this place might be more crowded. The deli is open for breakfast at 6am I think while the buffet is closed. We get a nice booth and scan the menu. Just waters this time around… I’m not here to drink, I’m here for a big meaty sandwich… and, OK I give in… and FRIES! screw the side salad! I see all kinds of Jewish type appetizers, it reminds me of Max’s Café in that way, sort of NY deli themed menu. I see this thing called Gefilte Fish. I’ve heard of it, but don’t really know what it is … we didn’t have that growing up… but I did know what the pickled Herring was. My Cuz heard of it as well, so we decided, what the hell, let’s try that. So one order of Gefilte Fish($ 5.00). As for the sandwiches, I went for the full sized Ruben sandwich with choice of corned beef, pastrami, or turkey. I choose pastrami. It’s served on buttered grilled rye bread along with my choice of fries($ 15.75). I was taken aback a little by the prices for sandwiches, but I guess this is a resort tourist place, so it is what it is. My Cuz opts not to go the sandwich route and selects the Shrimp Louie Salad($ 15.00). While we wait for our food, I notice how little smoke reaches into the dining area. Walking through the casino, it’s pretty smokey in spots, but in here it’s just fine… good ventilation! While in the middle of hearing of my Cuz’s latest adventures, the Gefilte Fish arrives. Wow, that doesn’t look like a fish at all! I’m not sure what it was supposed to look like. It looked like two formed neat mounds of fish’ish pâté’ with a center serving of horseradish. The whole presentation looked quite nice on the plate. After posing for pics, we dig into this thing. Hmmm. it’s firmer than I thought, maybe like thick tuna salad? My first taste … well, I never tasted anything like that before. It wasn’t super fishy exactly, but had an under tone of that and some sense of spiciness sort of. Definitely a foreign taste for me, not unpleasant but nothing that spurs me to have this again. Both my Cuz and I eat a little over half the order. We couldn’t say that it tasted like any other thing we’ve ever had, that’s for sure. Shortly our entrees arrive. My Ruben sandwich is certainly grilled and buttered and stacked high, flanked by a generous helping of fries. My Cuz’s Shrimp Louie was huge! Wow, look at all that perfectly cooked glistening big prawns loaded on top of a bed of Romain lettuce. Her 1000 island dressing is served on the side … perfect for dipping prawns! I check out my sandwich, cut in half to show the thickness of the meat combined with the sauerkraut and cheese. That’s a nice big thick sandwich, now that’s what I’m talkin’ bout’, this is the kinda sandwich that I like! No skimpy chain sub shop sandwich here! Look at the pics of that thing! I open wide and slide that meat filled thing into my mouth and bite down, releasing the sharp bite of the sauerkraut melding with the peppery meaty flavor of the pastrami and cheese. One thing I’d change might be the bread. The style of Rye used here is very fluffy and cut thick, though buttered and grilled well. I’d prefer a thinner and more coarse rye that will add some texture to the experience. This rye was a little too squishy. But still this was a quite tasty sandwich. I’m not quite sure it’s worth almost $ 16.00 bucks in a casino… if I had a cliffside view of the Pacific Ocean, then maybe … The Shrimp Louie(who the hell was Louie?), on the other hand was well worth the price with that huge pile of prawns on top! I reached over and tasted! Perfectly cooked with a slight nutty flavor and no shells, these were some nice prawns! The 1000 island dressing went well with the salad. I’d recommend this Shrimp Salad to anyone … for some reason I never see men order Shrimp Louie Salads… why is that? So, I’ll say the Manhattan Deli, inside the Atlantis is a good place to go for a big real meaty sandwich or Shrimp Salad. If you like real Jewish foods, they have these here as well. Our service was fine and the food super filling… I needed to take the second half home! We had a fine experience here, and I hope you do too if you go.

We had an awesome meal at this New York deli in the Atlantis. Both of our meals were excellent I had a grilled corn beef sandwich with Swiss cheese and a salad. I have the half sandwich and it was more than enough to eat. My husband enjoyed the Ruben half sandwich and a cup of their clam chowder soup and it was excellent also. Dominic our waiter was very friendly and efficient and took care of everything we could ask for. We do enjoy this Manhattan deli at the Atlantis we’ve been there several times and we will surely return many more times.

The Atlantis is an awesome casino, with a great buffet, always improving gaming, a great location at the foot of Mt. Rose, and the Manhattan Deli. Saturday afternoon was about half full, and I can only imagine what this place will look like in a few hours. Had the Matzo ball soup and Corned Beef sandwich, and this was 3rd behind Jerry’s Deli in Woodland Hills and Brent’s Deli in Westlake Village. #3 because of the small cup of soup but still tasty matzo ball, #3 because of the small portioned corned beef, making the sandwich drier and needing more mayo and mustard. Service was average but attentive. The keno runner never made it to my table, even through I asked my waiter and even the restaurant manager. Will return the next time I’m in Incline Village and traveling through Reno airport.

Let’s just start with the best; the chicken noodle soup here is very good. I ordered this several times and it’s easily one of the best things I’ve eaten lately. The broth is clear and savory, the chicken and vegetables are tender and I don’t even know. you should just order it. Egg salad sandwiches, ham and cheese and beef sandwiches all came on fresh baked, fluffy breads. I love how everything here is fresh made in house. In hindsight I should’ve ordered something with corned beef or pastrami because duh –NY deli., but these other items all made me plenty happy. Somehow I ended up with a free slice of cheesecake(thanks, Mr awesome waiter!) which was stupid good. I don’t know what they do to this, I swear it has to be a 50⁄50 cheese and heavy whipping cream mixture., it’s so rich, yet fluffy and very vanilla-y. You should get the soup in a semi healthy move and then mess it all up by getting the cheese cake right after. It’s cool, because after all lunch was light(and I said so).

Take it with a grain of no salt… and pictures are posted. Broccoli and cheddar soup ~~~ tons of flour added to the roux. Wasn’t cooked out. So it was wallpaper paste with a sprinkle of broccoli and a dash of pepper maybe cheese in there. You HAVE to cook the flour milk mixture that makes soup. Oh, and no flavor. Did I mention it missed salt pepper cayenne jalapeño or anything that resembled flavoring. aWESOME wry bread. Did I say awesome? Tuna was tasteless. See pic. Come on… salt and pepper goes a long way. I asked for mustard. Denied. dENIED! Can’t believe it was so bland. Again awesome wry bread, double decker beef tongue and corned beef. Love them both but not here. No SEASONING. Salt and pepper. Sheesh. Should’ve asked for mustard timesFIVE, I just couldn’t believe how bland a double decker Sammie with two«flavorful» meats could be. It’s like they rinsed in in dishwater and put it on AWESOME rye bread. Matzo ball soup — like a flour bomb in a minuscule amount of flavorless broth. This made me saddest. That soup is to be treasured. Cheesecake — not NY style. Whipped overly sweet cream cheese and no sour cream topping. Sad. But okay Cheese blitzes. Best thing on the menu.(Better at IHOP) but tiny and Cheese was questionable. $ 50++ worth of take out was wasted. I should’ve ordered a loaf of rye bread and made my own. when I think of the dinky little Quality Inn and how hard the Farahi bros worked over 30 yrs to build this place up, I’m appalled. Not even worthy of a star. Sad that I blindly recommended this place to tourists. The fact I can only recommend the bread, well… its just sad.

Being a New Yorker, I couldn’t «not» try something called the Manhattan Deli. They come pretty close. Sandwiches are piled high. Chopped liver is delicious. Bread is not quite right. too thick. Hard to find a good Jewish Rye, and they obviously do not get their bagels from Rounds Bakery(Moana). They start with a pickle bowl, which every good New York deli provided. Half sour pickles and pickled veggies. Sandwiches come with choice of potato, cole slaw, creamy cole slaw, or fruit. I like to order the chopped liver appetizer with little party rye bread. I always order extra bread, because there is so much chopped liver. Ask wait staff to bring you some extra red onion to put on top. ‘ Pastrami and corn beef looked great. Think I had a Rueben on a past visit. They have made a serious attempt to recreate a «black and white» cookie. It’s good, but it’s too cakey. A black and white cookie really is more cookie than cake and is half iced in chocolate and half iced in vanilla. Even NY deli’s are becoming a thing of the past; they are few and far between, when they used to be on every corner. So this is a great reminder of what once was. I’d definitely come again.

I’ve always heard that matzo ball soup is the best thing for a cold, so this week, as my cold morphed into bronchitis, I dragged my sick self into the Manhattan Deli and got some. First of all, a complaint: I’m still sick the next day. What the heck?! Aside from THAT, it was a very good experience all around. Let’s just start with the floor tile. That’s my favorite thing. I know that pattern must have a name but I don’t know it. My kids called it soccer ball, which seems fitting. Anyway, it’s cool. I want that in my house. The matzo ball soup was nice. Served piping hot with an enormous matzo ball in delicious, savory broth. Maybe a bit too salty though. The star of the show wasn’t my soup though. It was my daughter’s tuna melt on sourdough. That was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever tasted. They use albacore tuna, and that in itself is delicious– they prepare it with mayonnaise, and I think onions and celery. Then they take it above and beyond– they get a good sear on the tuna so it gets crisp on the surface before they slap on a slice of cheese(not sure what kind but I’d guess provolone) and then put the whole thing on buttered sourdough toast. Oh baby. The creamy texture of the tuna with the crunch of celery; the crisp seared spots; the melty, stringy cheese; the slight crunch of the sourdough toast., this sandwich made my mouth happy. I think I ate about half her sandwich– which turned out ok because it was a huge sandwich. My husband enjoyed his fish and chips and the son liked his BLT(with no L– weirdo). We all liked the fries a lot, too– perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The menu is huge with lots of intriguing stuff I’ve never had before but would like to try. The hardest part next time will be choosing which dish to try!

Today my husband craving a sandwich so we decided to go to Manhattan deli. He ordered a NY Special sandwich. It was corned beef and coleslaw on rye with thousand island dressing and potato salad. Sandwich is too big, so huge to fit in your mouth. It’s stacked high with meat and coleslaw. He said it was perfect sandwich. Potato salad was perfect not too much mayo. Ps: just expect that you’re going to make a mess while you eating this NY sandwich. I ordered a fish and chips. The French fries was fried perfect. The fish fried perfect too, nicely brown color, not oily and the important wasn’t thick with battered. The fish was good too. Our server was Travis. He is a funny young man and attentive.

Matzo Ball Soup. Say that with me, please. Matzo Ball Soup… ohhhh yes! I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while now, but since I rarely find myself in casino’s, I just kept forgetting to go check them out. My daughter and her family came into town and stayed at the Atlantis, so after an afternoon of swimming in the pool, we decided to take the kids and go eat. What took me so long, to come here??? I ordered the matzo ball soup and a half egg salad sandwich on rye bread, toasted… O.M.G!!! So simple, and so TASTY!!! Their soup tastes like they get up in the morning, pour a ton of love in the pot and slow cook it all day so it can extract all of the goodness it can possibly muster. The matzo balls are so delicate and perfect, I caught myself more then once closing my eyes and savoring the bites… quietly saying out loud«Mmmm!». Must. Have. Again!!! The food is so simple, yet delicious!!! Our server was super friendly and outgoing, you can tell that he REALLY loves his job… no one can fake it that good! LOL I wish we had gotten his name, I’m sure he gave it to us but I was too distracted and admit that I’m a very bad person for not remembering. :-(I really think that more people should be going here though. They are THAT good, and they have plenty of seating. Take a group, go have great food with excellent service! I almost gave this rating a 4-star… but the more I think about it, no. They really truly deserve a 5-star. They are THAT good!
