Took my diamond ring there to sell, not wanting to use CL. We have had the ring appraised at over $ 6K at a local jewelry store, and brought it to Metropawn. We watched as they tested the diamonds, and the light changed the appropriate color signifying diamond. After the clerk conferred with another associate, he told us that the stones were Moissanite, and not diamond! He also gave us a low value on the value of scrap melt for the platinum.
We took the ring to a different store, they confirmed the value of the diamonds, cleaned the ring properly, and gave us a more accurate measure of the value of the platinum. NEVER take your jewelry to Metropawn. They outright lied about the diamonds being Moissanite — which is a synthetic stone, when we knew they were diamonds!
