NNHopes is an awesome place. It was a bit chaotic during construction, but that can’t be helped. Now that the new facilities are open, things are much better and nicer. I encourage those looking for primary care to come check this place out.

this place is ridiculous! i’m a new patient with medicaid insurance and have been calling all week to get a new patient appt request, everytime I call at 8:00 am and they keep me on hold for 15 minutes maximum, then when the receptionists answers they are extremely rude and say«all our new patient appts have been filled, try again another day.» then they hangup on you. how do they expect anyone to get a new patient appt if all they’re going to do is make things difficult.

NN Hopes has saved lives in our community! Everyone that works there is patient, kind and they do not judge the patients. A dear friend went to get a check up there, as it had been years since seeing a Dr. They discovered heart problems within about 15 minutes! I credit NN Hopes with saving their life. I have spoke with many people that have used NN Hopes services and helped them when they had no place to turn. Reno is so blessed to have a facility so caring and competent. It may take a few phone calls to get your initial appointment, but be patient and trust me it’s worth it.

Connie in social services has consistently been kind and steadfast helping me with my disability needs. Intake was very friendly. The medical appointment situation has been horrible. I have to work and there’s no way I can call in the 8:00 to 8:15 window. I’ve taken off work to call and when I did I was told either to call back in a few minutes which I did and they told me to try again the next day. Although I was pleased with the care and direction of treatment Dr. Cristy was giving me, I was forced to find another physician because I simply can’t arrange an appointment. If the appointment policy changed I’d have Dr Christy as my doctor again in a heartbeat.

This is the review of the experience of calling to try to make an initial appointment. I don’t know what their actual medical care is like, and I guess I never will. I called because even though I have insurance, NNHOPES seems to be one of the few games in town for informed-consent care for trans people. I called on three separate days to try to make an appointment, all unsuccessfully: — Last Thursday, I called at 8:30AM and was told I had to call back between 8:00 — 8:15. — Last Friday, I called at 8:05AM. I was able to reach a receptionist, but she told me I had to call a different phone number because I have insurance. When I did, I was kept on hold until 8:20AM, then told it was too late to make an appointment and I would have to call back on Monday. — Today, I called at exactly 8:00AM. I got through to a receptionist around 8:05AM, but when I said I wanted to make an initial appointment, she hung up on me. I called back and was able to reach someone around 8:10; without asking whether I had insurance, she transferred me to the intake department(which is only for people who don’t have insurance), and the phone rang through to voicemail. So I had to call back a third time. I was kept on hold for 15 minutes and then, once more, told I was too late and I couldn’t make an appointment. When I explained I had been effectively hung up on twice, the receptionist just repeated«you have to call back between 8:00 — 8:15», without any acknowledgment of what I said. It’ll be easier for me to keep seeing my doctor in San Francisco and drive 200 miles each way than to try to get through to NNHOPES; I don’t see how anybody is able to get in as a new patient. I feel bad for people who don’t have insurance(unlike me) and who work an irregular schedule(like me) that makes it difficult to impossible to make a phone call at 8AM(never mind getting hung up on once you get through). Now I’ve lost three full nights of sleep trying to get an appointment, all for nothing.

Front office girls in Dr’s office are always rude(unless you’re Hispanic, apparently). Dr is good, she’s the one of the only reasons for the second star
