November 28, 2015 Saturday — 2PM for drinks 8 Adults Atmosphere — 5 star Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — Time for another UYE Beer Club! Atmosphere — A Mexican chain restaurant built the building and was vacant for a while and took over by Great Basin and converted into a great place and brewery. The place was gutted and given a rustic wood metal feel. Love the vibe at this location. Food — Drinks — I started with an India Pale Ale collaboration beer between Great Basin and Mammoth Brewing. Not too hoppy but solid. Paul was the manager that took care of us today and after the tour and brought us to samples, Kaffir Lime Leaf & Basil Saison and Mayan Maybe Not. I loved the Mayan Maybe Not it was a dark beer with a little hint of spice.
Meal — I had their Philly Cheesesteak, it was an open face sandwich as this thing was think with beef, cheese, onions and peppers. Cheesy goodness Service — Bobby was our waiter and was great. Our group was small today but we still got split checks which makes it easier to settle up. He was always there to get new beers and food. Paul was the manager on duty, and it seems we found the guy in the know. He gave us our tour of the place with a history of Great Basin. He answered all the questions the group had. Big thanks to Bobby and Paul. Future — Yes I will be visiting Great Basin and there will be more UYE Beer Clubs.

A relaxing afternoon sharing beer and food with fellow Unilocalers. Yay! I had the Bitchin Berry beer. A raspberry beer. It is delicious! Definitely a favorite. Fellow Unilocaler Sarah R introduced me to the mix of Bitchin Berry and Outlaw Milk Stout for a very yummy beer! I am going to be ordering that next time for sure. We had great service, the food was hot and delicious and the beer was awesome. Great event!!!

The older I get the less I tolerate beer, so I rarely drink it. Although I love it. Hence the reason this is my first Paul S’s UYE Beer Club Event. However, been a fan of Basin since it opened(even hostessed in Sparks for a spell). So since I liked the day and time of this one I figured I’d join in. It was a great time. A nice tour was given to us. We were also given two samples to try, the Kafir Lime Leaf and Basil, as well as the Mayan Maybe Not. It was fun meeting other Unilocalers I’ve not met yet and the food as always was good! Oh and huge shout out to our server Bobby… he was on point!!! Gonna have to go to another one of Paul’s Beer Club events even if I don’t drink the beer!!!
