Raley’s

The pharmacy department is excellent, and always tries to offer outstanding service.
In addition, many of the employees, such as in the meat, produce and alcohol departments are knowledgeable and helpful.
Unfortunately, the whole experience falls apart when it is time the check out.
There are typically long, slow lines in the few staffed checkout counters. The self-​checkouts often malfunction with nobody there to help.
Attempting to return an item seems to meet with an argument instead of an apology.
As a topper, the prices on many items are very high compared to other local chains.
Raley’s at Wedge Parkway charges boutique prices, yet offers low-​end service when it’s time to check out.

This has got to be the fanciest Raley’s in the area. ‘Brightly lit, but with accent lighting to make certain areas stand out from each other. A huge area for beautifully arranged produce. Another large area that serves deli items and sandwiches (and of course, my favorite, sushi), is inviting. Sushi is as usual, a bit expensive, but I just have to have it once in a while… So much for my budget! Once I saw the sushi, well, I stopped thinking about my budget! This store hosts almost anything you might want, even ethnic items. A full service pharmacy as well. Of course, as I said above, some things are a bit pricey but you get excellent service, fast. Parking is easy to find and the shopping center it is located in, has several popular fast food eateries as well as other nice stores and 2 banks… Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Easy access to Hwy 431 or I-​80. Just the place to go when driving from Mount Rose and Lake Tahoe before, or after hiking or skiing.

This place radically re-​branded for Whole Foods competition. Thank God they Got It that acoustic tiles and fluorescent light bars and bad music belong in a 1970s mall and not a quality grocery… They re-​did the ceiling into industrial chic and lights and really stepped up the products. They fail at good wine deals, they don’t have the products expected much at a Trader Joes or Whole Foods (pie crusts on down), but i must compliment them for the BEST Fried Chicken I’ve had in years. I assumed their light golden fried chicken next to the baked salmon at their expensive new food bar would be something far beyond the old grocery chain horrors and I was right. This place is nice to shop at… A great Vibe… Save Mart and Smiths should pay attention.

This is where I do all my grocery shopping! Loved it before the juice remodel, love it even more after!!! The staff is wonderful!!! They are very helpful and friendly! You can tell that they actually care about their jobs!
Their fruits and veggie section is HUGE!!! And so fresh! I’ve never have a fruit of veggie come from here not be amazing!!! They now have a peets coffee inside… The hubby is on cloud nine!!! The coffee is so fresh and consistent! I would bet that they have the best pastries in town! Seriously every time I bring one of their desserts to a dinner, people rave about it. And I recently found their deli sandwich counter!!! Yay! Very fresh and huge sandwiches!!! They defiantly don’t skimp on the meat!
The pharmacy staff is super friendly and efficient! I fairly have to wait longer then 20 minutes for a prescription!!!
The meat department staff is so wonderful too!!! Always there to answer questions, and help you out!!!
Now the fun part… The liquor department… Holy moly!!! Not only do they have free wine tasting on Fridays, but often have the liquor venders in to do samplings!!! Their craft beer section is amazing!!! AMAZING!!! (It needed to be said twice!) and their wine section is huge!!! My dad is a tequila expert, so I used to have to hunt for his favorites to give him as gifts, now raleys carries a large selection, including his favorite! And a ton of other tequila brands that he hasn’t even tried, so I can surprise him!
Overall I won’t be shopping anywhere else!!! I love my raleys!
P. s. Even their bathrooms are nice! They are super clean a the time and often have fresh flowers in them!

It is unfortunate, but I will never be back to this store, despite the close location to my home. The employees here are all SO unpleasant, bordering on angry. I wanted a balloon bouquet, so I picked out a large one in the aisle, $ 6.99 on the price tag. I took that over to floral to get some additional balloons added. While creating the bouquet, I noticed the lady remove the $ 6.99 tag, and add another. I assumed she was just tallying everything up for the tag to reflect one price.
I went to check out and saw she added 2 tags, one for $ 9.99, and one that said 4x .99. I told the checker there must be some mistake, after ringing it up. Instead of handling it, she grumpily instructed me to go back and deal with it myself. I did, and was met with more grumpiness from the floral lady, who wasn’t happy about going to the aisle where the balloons were to cross-​reference the prices. She pulled a comparable balloon down, showing me it was $ 9.99. I firmly believe she removed the $ 6.99 tag (which was likely an error, but not my problem.) I wasn’t going to argue with Grumpy.
I also purchased a cake (this was all for a co-worker’s birthday.) I asked for «Happy Birthday Jenny» to be written on the cake. My mistake for not checking it, but it looks like a kindergartener could have done better. It’s embarrassing.
When I finally did check out, my checker never even acknowledged me, just processed the transaction. A neighboring checker was having a melt down about something he «HAD NEVER SEEN BEFORE! Oh my gosh! Get over here now! What is this!?» All of that being addressed to a manager who was making his way to assist.
For me to feel the need to spend the outrageous prices this store charges, and deal with the «old grocery store smell,» despite the recent remodel, I expect to be treated with civility, at the very least.
Perhaps management should have some positive-​attitude building meetings or something, or the old bitties that work there need to get out of customer service. Oh, and put someone in the bakery who can use a piping bag properly.

A little pricey, but again, you get what you pay for. Great customer service and quality food! I love coming here! Great flowers and wine too!

This Raley’s had recently gone thru a huge renovation which left it reorganized and sparkling clean. They have a bit more of a selection than some of the other grocery stores in the area. The downside is that the prices are also higher here than other stores. We come here for the prepackaged lunches and dinners. Love that convenience for busy people! The baking section has all of the specialty flours and ingredients you need to make those unique bakery items like macarons. This was my first stop for Christmas cookie ingredients because they have a wide variety of chocolate chips and some great name brands you cannot find anywhere else in town.
This isn’t our regular grocery store but we definitely come here for the speciality items they have!

Great customer service!
They just re did this raleys store, luckily it is right by my house.
Just put in a Peets coffee bar, almost everything that is refrigerated are in coolers with doors on them to keep everything at the correct temperature. For energy efficiency the lights turn I when you walk by. Pretty cool.
They put in 4 self check out stations too. Much easier to get in and out quickly!

I am not usually a Raley’s shopper, but this one is great. The layout makes me want to shop, the produce is fresh and their is a great selection of pre-​made items. Love it!

Needed cupcakes and small sandwiches for my daughter’s Mad Hatter Tea Party. I ordered quickly and easily from the deli counter, choosing the Hawaiian roll platter. They were perfect and delish.
The cupcakes were perfectly decorated with the colors I requested. I added a little bit of party flair. They were so tasty too!

I had a fantastic experience here today.
After calling around a couple of stores earlier to find a 2lb tenderloin, fail. Big fail. So I thought… what the heck… I’ll just drive over to Raley’s as my last stop and ask the meat department if they might have something. Without any expectations, boom.
Meat guy: «No problem. Give me 5 minutes.»
What!!! Seriously? I was stoked. Beautiful piece of angus tenderloin. I must’ve thanked the meat guys like 5x.
Headed over to the deli department…
Deli lady: «Thanks and I hope you have a wonderful day.»
I’m on cloud 9 now.
Produce guy: «Hi. How are you? Please let me know if I could help you find anything.»
Wow.
Cashier guy: «Whoa. I’ve never tried this yogurt before. Let me know how it is. The other ones are good.»

Every department that I went to provided excellent service. This will be my go to market from now on.

Remodel gives it an upscale organic «farmer’s market» atmosphere, but also an over priced feeling. Some good deals to be had, if one searches. Nice produce selection and friendly employees.
The floor looks like it belongs in a kennel, and the music broadcast through the PA system was horrible last time I was there (screaming jive/​soul/​funk that didn’t go with the place at all). In-​store post office and nearby businesess in the center a big plus.

This store just underwent a renovation and looks quite good. The staff is nice and a great help when you can’t find something as the aisle shaved shifted a good bit. This store added a salad bar which has been something my wife has loved to do when I don’t want to cook or am out of town. The produce is always great and this store seems to get first pick among the raleys in the area. The alcohol selection is great and well organized. Prices do tend to be a bit higher than other stores but the quality products and great staff always seem well worth it

Always get great service at this raleys. They just remodeled, and now have a peers coffee bar in the store with seating to sit and enjoy your cup of joe. Everyone that works here seems happy to be at work, and not put out to help out a customer that has a question. High quality meat and produce.

They are currently undergoing a complete remodel and the store has been a bit difficult to navigate. There was a friendly employee that attempted to help me find what I was looking for but didn’t succeed and I had to make another stop. Prices are pretty fair for a higher end grocery store. Whenever I am not at a ‘bag-​your-​own’ store I come here.
I dinged them a star for overall quality of products. The tri tip roast I bought from them the last time I was in stated ‘trimmed’ of which, I also paid an extra dollar per pound for. Once the roast was removed from the package the complete backside, the part which faces the bottom of the tray that can’t be seen, was a thick layer of fat. This is not what would be considered ‘trimmed’ and looked exactly like the ‘untrimmed’ roasts that were available for the better price by the bag.
Also, the produce wasn’t been that great on my last couple visits either. We normally buy zucchini, broccoli, carrots, green beans, apples and lettuce for the most part which were all pretty dismal looking. We only ended up with a few apples and a single bunch of broccoli. I do like the quality of their store brand products and don’t have any complaints there.
I hope it gets better because they invested a huge amount of money into the remodel which even includes motion sensing lights that come on when you turn down an isle. They have expanded their wine and liquor selection to the biggest I’ve seen in any local grocery store.

This is actually our favorite Raley’s, but since it is a bit of a drive from downtown, it is not our regular store.
We were down at the south end of town today so we decided to do our shopping here instead of our neighborhood store on Mayberry.
Pluses:
+The store is HUGE! the isles are wider and there are more items available than at our unusual store.
+ The upper-​end items — such as higher quality meat (more pricy) — are more often available +Staff are always friendly and helpful as we have come to expect from all the Raley’s stores. Everyone who works there seems to know were everything is and if you have trouble finding + It is the only grocery chain that offers to take your groceries out to the car for you
+ it is convenient to 580
Minuses:
— The parking lot is not laid out very well. Entering and exiting is a bit dicey
— They are in the midst of a complete remodeling so everything is torn up and the usually clean and upscale ambiance is gone. It is like shopping at WinCo.

Life does not get any better than when you are at this Raley’s.
The entire store is filled with the mega rich of Galena Forest, Montreux, and Arrowcreek. It is never crowded. There are probably like 15 customers and 20 employees at any given moment. It is the steak house of supermarkets. So clean, so nice, so helpful, and nothing but classy and well-​mannered rich people. I come here anytime I can afford it!

Raley’s is a great place to go for more specialty items. Whenever I can’t find something at the grocery store I frequently attend, I know that I will be able to find it at Raley’s. I don’t shop at Raley’s on a daily basis simply because of the price. I can find things at other places for almost half the price. However, considering the amount of specialty items they carry, I guess you are paying for that luxury.
This particular Raley’s is always clean, well-​stocked, and has what I’m looking for!

This raley’s has those chocolate filled croissants, yum. Along with dutch crust bread, the coffee flavored mousse cake, makes this the best grocery bakery in town.
Their sandwiches are great and so much better than port of subs. They are cheaper with better ingredients. The salad, drink selection, and snack selection make it my go to place for a quick and healthy dinner or lunch on the go.
