Stopped in to buy a treat for my employees. What I assume was the owner came out of the back and spoke to me regarding the volume of what I was buying.4 dozen-48 bagels. I was told to call ahead, especially Saturday and Sunday, as this was Friday I pointed it out. Silly me, I was informed that this day was included in their«weekend bake», how dare I not know that. Then there was confusion among the front line staff as to whether or not they could actually sell me the bagels. It was embarrassing, all the while the line formed behind me. I like to purchase local whenever I am able, I am a big fan of supporting local businesses. I will, however, take my business elsewhere. I don’t believe the customer should be publicly flogged for trying to purchase a item sold by the establishment. The behavior was outrageous. I have been a very long term customer, but no more. I will take my business elsewhere as they clearly don’t want it. Read your reviews, several similar comments, why take a dump on the customer in front of you for a potential one down the road! You show in your actions you don’t value long time customers… I have an idea! BAKEMORE! I have also reiterated this story to anyone who will listen and the reactions have been consistent… utter amazement that an owner would behave in such a manner.

I have been coming to truckee bagel(galena location) for about 12 years on and off. Have moved other places but when I come back I always visit truckee bagel because I have always loved it. However, the past 3 times I have come in, it has taken them over 30 minutes to make 1 bagel! 2 of the times I even called ahead and it still took that long. This last time, once I did receive my bagel, the avocado on top was hard and disgusting. I understand bad days but having the same experience 3 times within a couple weeks in un-acceptable.

I have been coming to Truckee Bagel for many years, I love their Bagels and breakfasts sandwiches. Unfortunately the last 4 times I have been in there I have received the worst service and it has gotten progressively worse which has prompted me to write this review. The last time I went in they had forgotten my order and I had to wait for 45 minutes. When I asked the to make it, I had to wait another 20 minutes. They forgot my smoothie and messed up my order. After repeating my order to 2 different girls who were helping me I still had to repeat the 2 bagels i wanted just to go. I was not the only one in line who had there order messed up, at least 3 other people had the same problems I did. I would normally say this was just a busy day, but It has happened to me so many times in the past. Although the product is good, the horrible service has worn my patience down and I will no longer returning.

I have been going to Truckee Bagel since it opened, multiple times a week. I’ve moved out of town a couple years ago but still make it a point to go multiple times when I am in town. This trip it was by far the worst experience. We arrived around 8:20am this morning June 19th. There were only 2 other customers in the place and 3 girls working. Not only did it take over 30min to get our food, they left out 1 of those bagels and a cinnamon twist. We let them know what we are missing and to warm up the twist not only did they try handing is a cold twist, they handed us a bagel without cream cheese! Now let’s go to actually eating the bagels, the ones that just had cream cheese must have been sitting for a long time while the sandwiches got made so not only were they cold but now hard and to top it all off, mine had a hair in my cream cheese! Never have I had a bad experience there and this was crazy. How hard is it for 3 employees to make bagels?! And their attitudes, they just didn’t care. Disappointed.

I used to really love this place. Ive gone here almost every Saturday for the last 4 years, sometimes stopping by during the week too. I’m sad to say, no joke, the last 5 weekends in a row, my or my husbands order has been drastically wrong. Its been going down hill over the last couple months, recently consistent downfall. Sometimes wrong bagel flavor, sometimes forgetting the cheese, sometimes forgetting the meat even! I feel that the ordering/paying system is very unorganized… the staff always seems overwhelmed. There are no line signs such as «order» and«pickup» which would be helpful so everyone just stands around and the staff has no idea whos waiting for what. A designated cashier would also be helpful, as well as a designated order deliverer seperate from the bagel makers. If this were the case, everyone could focus on their specific task and not get jumbled. Typically we call in our orders ahead of time. Lately I’ve said my order twice(it’s usually not volunteered to be read back to me) just to make sure they heard it right and it still comes out wrong. This used to be my grab and go breakfast spot. Not anymore. Unless you have time to return your order and wait for a remake, don’t bother coming here. There’s Rounds on Moana, a little out of the way and the bagels aren’t as good but they’re always good about getting your order right. Hope this place figures out what went wrong as there’s no other alternative in galena area. If not, to rounds we go.

I have been a customer of Truckee Bagel for over 8 years. I used to stop by at least weekly when I was I college. I love the variety of bagels offered and appreciate that they serve both breakfast and lunch. However, recently, I had a bad experience that caused me to never want to give Truckee Bagel business again. I went to Truckee Bagel to buy a dozen bagels and a couple of different cream cheese spreads for a social gathering. When I got there, I picked out my cream cheese and waited my turn to order. When I got to the counter to order my bagels, I was informed that they would not sell me more than two bagels at a time. I was told they had a piece of equipment that was out of order, therefore they had a limited quantity of bagels. You mean to tell me that you’re going to deny me, a guaranteed customer, business on the chance that someone may come in AFTER me and want them? I arrived around 9:15AM and realize they still had lunch customers but why would you turn away business right in front of you? I walked away very disappointed. Instead, I went next door to Raley’s and bought a variety of a dozen bagels from the bakery(for MUCH less). I can forgive a lot of things but bad customer service is not one of them.

First things first. Good bagels with a BIG menu of tasty options. The bagels themselves have good flavor and texture. O.K. now the rest… The first thing that hits you when you walk in the place is. It’s Dirty. I have problems with«if this is the dirt you can see, what’s in the back…» the floors aren’t clean, the counter isn’t either. The heater vents over head are covered in dust. The main air vent, way up above the counter is visibly clogged with greasy dirt. It’s disgusting. Then the view behind the counter into the back area is grim. It’s nasty. Again I ate, I enjoyed. But only because I was very hungry and crunched for time. I won’t make that mistake again. All in all I can’t recommend a place that doesn’t make the effort to keep it clean. And this looks like a habit, not«it got a little busy this morning».

Truckee Bagel is my favorite bagel place in Reno! Tons of bagels to choose from(though I almost always stick with the salt bagel), lots of in house made cream cheese flavors(cranberry is my favorite — yes on the salt bagel, try it!), and plenty of sandwich options for breakfast or lunch! This location is close to my work and super convenient for lunch and the new location in midtown is awesome too! If you’ve got a choice between Truckee Bagel and Einstein’s… pick this one, trust me, you won’t regret it! Better(and faster) service, happier employees(or so it seems from a customers point of view), MUCH better quality food and they’re a local business!

Always loved coming here when I get the chance to or when I’m on this side of town. All there bagels are amazing. Their cream cheese are even more amazing! I love the garlic flavor! Has such a kick when you eat it. Noticed that they carry dirty’s chips. If you’ve ever tried kettle cooked chips you know they’re pretty good, but dirty’s is way better. I believe there’s only 3 ingredients in it and that’s it. Very good. Anyway back to the bagels. They are more than accommodating if you want to change up the normal bagel sandwiches they have. It’s always busy so you know it’s a good place to eat at.

What a horrible experience this morning. Have been going for many years and will never go back. First the scone they had for a taste was wonderful so we bought some. Ours were dry, hard and bitter tasting. Then we ordered 2 bagels with cream cheese. The cream cheese was a schmeer and gritty, was supposed to be sun dried tomato but was tasteless and sweet? For an extea $ 6 they added less than a ¼ teaspoon of capers, a slice of tomato(so thin you could see through it) and two even thinner rings of onion. The bagel was even worse. So for over $ 14 most was thrown away. I know many will defend this company but I work hard for my money and have certain expectations. The one in Truckee is by far superior and price is more reasonable.

2016 is the year to try new things and new places. When I went to the Unilocal feast event I had talked to fellow Unilocaler Vickey and she told me how incredible Truckee Bagel Co is and that I needed to try it. Well what better time to try than when I’m in south Reno at my parents and we are hungry for lunch?! This place is really cool. Lining the walls are beautiful photographs of Lake Tahoe. Nothing better to me than getting to look at beautiful scenery, even if it’s just in photo form! My mom and I both ordered the Castle Peak. It probably took 5 minutes altogether for them to make it. Speedy, just how I like it! You order your food at the register, but they bring your sandwich out to you which was really nice! Onto the sandwich. Wow. I truly mean WOW! It was so good! So many flavors, that mustard sauce they use must come straight from heaven. I wish mine had a little less cream cheese on it, but that’s a personal preference that I know now for future orders! So glad I finally got to try this place out!

Slow and unorganized. I ordered and they forgot about me. I paid $ 15 for a bagel, coffee and cookie. Then the bagel girl rang a new customer, touched cash and coins and went back to making bagel sandwiches without washing her hands. Not cool. And there are 3 – 4 workers behind the counter not helping customers or bagel girl.

The employees are very friendly. They charged me for my sausage garlic and cheese bagel. I didn’t want a receipt. Shortly after sitting down I was approached by the cashier and he told me he over charged my account totally over $ 63.00. He gave me a receipt showing it was voided. Very honest and I could have easily walked out of there only to see the charges later causing a headache 500 miles from where I live. The food was great and had a large selection. I highly recommend this place, and they seem to be doing well even with a Starbucks in the same shopping center. I’ve seen more people come through this door than Starbucks.

I am a sucker for bread! I love the small environment feel. However the only downfall for me Truckee bagel company is they are location. But maybe that’s why it just taste so much better when I make the drive! I ordered a delicious sandwich. It was called the biggest little Ruben on a garlic bagel. Let me just tell you it was so good that I am writing this wanting another one! The prices of their bagel sandwiches, and their bagels are reasonable price. When I get the chance I will be back!!! My recommendation is that everyone should try this place!

I wanted to get bagels and I heard there was this place located just off Mt Rose Highway in south Reno. I went once to the location in Truckee when I was skiing a few years back and thought the service to be kinds spacey and aloof, but that’s that laid back Truckee experience. I wanted just to get bagels and maybe coffee and do some surfing on the internet. I found the place just fine. The space was smaller than I thought it was gonna be. There are just maybe 4 tables and then the display case with bagels. They offer a wide variety of bagel sandwiches. The girl behind the counter was actually quite friendly. I said I wanted a dozen bagels, and she told me of the options and of the day old bagels offered for ½ price. Looking through the fresh bagels, looked pretty sold out and low for just 9am! I guess they bake once and don’t refill the supply for the day. It sort of pissed me off that my fave kind the everything seeded bagel was all gone, but I suppose that means they are really good, or the store doesn’t know how to judge how much to make. I’m hoping they’re really good. I sort of jumped at the chance for the ½ off bagels, with my mind thinking, so the bagels are $ 11.00 per dozen so the bag of 6 bagels should be like $ 6.00 bucks or less. But they are ½ off the full per single bagel price of $ 1.20, so not as good a deal as I thought. but I still bought 2 bags of day old bagels for $ 7.00. I then ask about the WiFi internet and was told yes we have that. OK, good, I think. I get seated and try to log on to the WiFi and I see no network signal for Truckee Bagel… lots of other signals but not public ones. I was gonna get up and ask, but there was a constant line of customers, so I wasn’t gonna wait in line just to ask that. Screw it! I’ll just go over to Starbucks across the parking lot … heck I’ll just go to the McDonald’s, cause they’re never crowded like Starbucks. Oh well so much for the staff knowing what the store has in the way of internet access. The blondish girl at the counter was friendly and offered to look for more of the seeded everything bagels, but to no avail… no more. Now as for the bagels themselves. They do hold up to the toaster well and don’t get all soft like the ones from Rounds do. I’ve tried them, firm and dense cold, but heated they go soft. I don’t want anything I get heated to go soft! OK, well, except pasta maybe. These bagels I ‘ll give credit to for holding up and staying firm and dense and keeping the right chew it them after toasting. Seems to me they are in general a pretty dense bagel. The day olds I got were garlic and poppy seed. The diameter of the bagels though seemed a bit smaller than the average bagel. I’d still return here, cause beats going all the way to Mid Town for the south.

They have this one unique bagel sandwich that I get almost every time I stop here at this convenient location at the bottom of the Mount Rose highway before launching some Tahoe adventure — the eggs Benedict sandwich with brie on any bagel of your choice. All the savory deliciousness and calories on a fresh bagel that you need for high energy output exploits. The time that they open suggests that they know that they are a breakfast place — there are some so called breakfast places that open at 8AM… tsk, tsk… not this place, they are open at 6AM and ready for their people to start filing in to get fueled up for the day.

Immediately the customer service stood out. The hospitality in this place is Texas first class! My salmon lox bagel will haunt me my entire life. How do you describe the indescribable when there are no words to utter. Pure enjoyment ran across my face. 5 Stars all the way guys! Thanks for the memory! Jeremy Dallas, TX

I love Truckee Bagel! It’s been around almost as long as I have, and boy have I eaten a lot of it! They’ve seen me through all my phases, «E-Z Pizza» all the way through high school, «Veggie Slide» for my vegetarian days, «Pacific Sunrise» for weekly breakfasts, who knows what I’ll be eating next! The only thing MORE exciting than the Galena area Truckee Bagel is the one opening in Midtown. It’s an addiction and this new store is really only them being enablers.

The bagel competition in Reno is getting fierce but Truckee Bagel Co still gets my vote, and my business. Their bagel sammies are hands down my favorite of all the establishments. They even have one with hollandaise and brie, oh do they know the way to my heart. Their bagel selection is crazy good, the jalapeño and the cranberry(that’s 2 different bagels although if they combine them I would totally eat it!) are my favorites. The jalapeño has just enough kick to get me going in the morning. The cranberry bagel smeared with plain cream cheese is almost dessert-y with the sweetness in the cranberry. Cheesus they are tasty, tasty bagels. I can’t wait until they open in Midtown-all of the convenient!

I used to be in here a lot more when I worked close by. Now I tend to go to a competitor because they are in closer proximity. That said, whenever I am in the area and craving bagels, this is a no brainer. Their sandwiches are delicious(breakfast ones are always my favorite) and the fresh bagels are delicious. Their house made cream cheese is great and comes in a variety of flavors. My favorite bagels are cranberry when I want sweet or garlic or onion when I want savory. The garlic and onion make for great breakfast or lunch sandwiches — to go or made at home. They freeze well and thaw quickly. When I am going through a bagel craving I ask for a freezer bag and buy a few extra to keep on hand for a rainy day. The staff is always on point even when they are quite busy. The store is small so it’s hard to wait off to the side for your sandwich when the store is busy. They do try to make everything as soon as possible so you aren’t standing around for too long. Parking is easy as the lot is large for the shopping center.
