Walked here from Circus Circus at 11:40am. Unilocal says open 24⁄7. This establishment opens at 3pm. Maybe they should take the time to update their business hours.

Reno Public House is a perfect example of the neighborhood bar. Beer, cocktails, and even wine are all solidly represented with a nice blend of new and old school choices. Music you can hear, friendly and knowledgeable bartenders, and Buck Hunter round it all out. When I find a bar like Public House in other cities(which isn’t guaranteed), I always stay for a second drink.

Reno Public House has a great atmosphere that includes a wonderful beer and liquor selection that most other bars to not have. The servers are extremely friendly and professional and I’ve never had a bad experience. I’d like to add that Reno Public House is NOT anti LGBT in any sense. If you walk into any bar acting belligerent, or seem to be making other customers feel uncomfortable, any responsible bartender will refuse to serve you. Some of these posts are a perfect example of people trying to destroy another business because they didn’t get what they wanted. The customer is not always right, and sexual orientation is completely beside the point.

Never, ever got to Reno Public House. The bartender, Josh, may be one of the most outright offensive people I’ve ever met, with no cause. He refused service to a group of friends as we walked in, saying he didn’t want to serve my friends, because the bar had a «mellow vibe» going(we were just happy) and didn’t want to «clean up» after us(what?!) and then told us gays to «swish away» as we questioned the behavior. Apparently, every other place we go, including restaurants, have no no issue serving us. Wow!

They have a great beer selection, and they make great cocktails. If you are looking for a deal… they offer $ 2 hams for those looking to save some cash. Their Old Fashions were pretty flippin good… and strong too. I tend to use an Old Fashion to judge a bar’s cocktail quality(gotta get the same drink to fairly compare), and this place certainly passes the test and beyond. Highly recommend this place.

Kyle!!! Seriously, this is what having a local bar and bartender is supposed to feel like. He’s always so knowledgeable and kind, literally knows everything about all the different beers/liquors served here. We are always stoked to walk in and see him bc he makes us feel welcomed and cozy :)

Hands down one of the best bars in Reno! The drinks are delicious and bartenders are always helpful and friendly. Right next to laughing planet so you can grab a bite to eat and head over for a drink. Definitely recommend for your local drinking night.

While it can get loud on busy nights, this is a nice place to hang out. The beer is good and the people aren’t too douchey. I like sitting outside, weather permitting. I’ve also seen people with their dogs inside, which is cool if you have a dog who doesn’t get stressed out by a lot of loud strangers. The inside makes me feel like I’m in a whaling town during the 1800’s. So if you like that, I’d go here.

We had our work holiday party here with 35+ people and we fit pretty comfortably in the long table area. Drinks were reasonably priced and poured strong. There is an outside patio area with a table and a few bench seats that was enjoyable. The lighting is pretty dark but it goes with the ambiance they are going for. It’s a fun hipster bar in midtown that serves specialty cocktails.

Firestone Oatmeal Stout. Look, if I walk into your bar/pub/brewery and you don’t offer me a porter, a stout or at the very least Guiness on tap, I’m walking out. Reno Public House did not disappoint tonight. They offered Firestone Walker Oatmeal Stout tonight and it was excellent. I love a stout that makes me think I should ask for a fork and knife while drinking it – I love it thick and rich! Thank you!

If you like crappy loud music playing on multiple blown speakers outside and sitting at a picnic table and seat which both constantly rock and move, this your place. Needless to say, don’t like this place very much and really don’t ever want to return. There is very weird and awkward vibe to this place, feeling hollow and empty.

Public house has a great location right in the middle of Midtown. They are perfect for grabbing a drink after strolling the streets, checking out the shops, and grabbing food. They offer indoor and outdoor patio seating, and frequently have local bands and other acts playing here. The beer selection is great, although it’s impossible to read! I found myself bending my neck in all sorts of directions just trying to figure out what to order. Luckily, the bartender was helpful in filling in the blanks, and my beer turned out to be exactly what I wanted :)

I used to love this cocktail place, but they are for sure changing to more a beer and shot place and the bartenders get annoyed when you ask for a cocktail. Last time they rushed through the cocktails and they weren’t that great and we went on a Sunday afternoon when it wasn’t even busy. I like that in the afternoons they allow dogs.

There are a few things about this bar that really make it stand out above others in the area. The biggest thing is that the Bartenders at Reno Public House really know their stuff! You can show up not knowing what you are in the mood for and they always have the best recommendations. No matter what beer is on the menu, the bartenders can tell you everything about them. Either they love beer or they spend many hours researching beer critics critiques. I think that we all know which one it is. I hate when you ask a bartender something like«how is that sour ale?» and they respond by simply saying«good.» That never happens at the Public House. Bartenders describe the beer very well and make recommendations based on the styles you prefer. This might not a bar that you would go to if your ideal beer is Bud Light and you enjoy getting rowdy while watching sports. If you want to relax and converse with friends over one of the best craft beer selections and delicious cocktails in Reno, than this is more of the place to be. The bar is pretty large with a lot of open area. They have seating to accommodate just about any size group that you arrive with and best of all, during the summer you can enjoy the patio. The best way for me to describe the atmosphere inside the Public House is that its a hip locals bar in an up and coming neighborhood. Give it a shot! Public House is hands down one of my favorite bars in town but If the atmosphere isn’t for you than you can at least leave knowing you got an exceptional drink.

Service: quick without loosing a personal touch and thought. Friendly if you are a regular or not. Price: great for the value and breadth of selection. Ambience: Great for groups and barflys as well. Outdoor area is near perfect. Cons: No pool table.

We spied this little gem one day while getting our Sup on. Despite it’s immediately scary/shady location, we decided to take a shot at it when our usual cravings for Great Basin or Silver Peak had petered out. Don’t come to this bar if you’re looking for fancy. If you’re looking for a trendy ambiance. Come to this bar if you want to see two old men sitting on the patio drinking their beers while talking about the old days. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention they were drinking Budweiser. In a beer bar! It’s a place you can come after the gym, when you’re sweaty and gross, and no one will give you a sideways glance. It’s a place where I did go, covered in paint from a home-restoration-project-that-seems-to-never-end. No one cares. They’re there for the beer, the company, and the friendly acknowledgement from the bartender. I don’t think they have food. But I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t mind if you brought your own.

Having a drink at a friends house is awesome. Don’t you agree? I mean the atmosphere is casual, comfortable, and you can really feel at home. For me, the basic design of Public House, with the exposed brick, communal tables, comfortable seating, mellow music, and placid patio, really resonates with me. It makes me feel like I’m hanging at an old friend’s, only this friend has a beer and whiskey collection worthy of your envy! The constantly rotating taps and bottles are impressive, including some familiar faces and always something of great interest. The bartenders are very accommodating, answering questions well and quick to offer you a taste of the unfamiliar. Sure they want to sell you a beer, but they make it seem like they’re first priority is sharing their passion for beer with you. But they are definitely not one-trick ponies! These people can make a mean cocktail, and their seasonal house creations are d-lishes! I’m a fan of the Old Fashioned, and they do it perfectly. Not too sweet, and not too spicy. Goes down smooth every time. I really like what Public House brings to our local scene, and I’m always excited when I get a chance to stop by. I mean, even though I don’t know the staff by name, it always feels like walking into an old friend’s.

I have been here twice and really enjoy the local neighborhood hangout feel of the place. They also mix a pretty impressive Bloody Mary. I was there both times with some Unilocal friends and felt comfortable being there — I am way north of the hipster 20-something. The first time we pretty much had the place to ourselves and sat at the large group table in the middle of the room. The atmosphere is urban, industrial with solid wood and metal and low light. The bar sits at center stage. This is a BAR not a café or eatery or grill. The second time it was a lot busier, but we were able to snag some tables and chairs together in an alcove away from the crowd. The noise level can get a bit high, but again — this is a BAR and people want to party. Parking is what it is in midtown. There is a very small lot next to them that is shared with La Crème. On a busy night, be prepared to walk — it is good for you.
