March 25, 2016 Friday — 5PM for a drink 1 Adult Atmosphere — 4 stars Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — Been here for the UYE Beer Club and time to get here on my own. Atmosphere — It is part of a business park. Just watch for the signs at the corners, probably 3 feet tall they will take you through the maze. It is like going to a friend’s garage with a few more taps. Probably one of the smallest brewers in Reno and glad to be able to support them Food Drinks — I want to try something I had not had before from Stoneyhead and the Honey Porter was calling me. A solid choice. Service — Brad was working behind the bar. I placed my order he is wait I have a sample for you. They rolled out their new beer Spring Fling. A good ESB but was craving that porter. Future — Sure.

Cody and Paul made us feel very welcome. Cody insisted we sampled mostly everything before settling on a Sneaky Redhead. I will definitely be back to Stoneyhead. Great products on offer, friendly service and very reasonable prices. I was told this place has been in operation for three years, long may it continue! Look out for the Sneak Attack and the 7 Troughs Oak Attack(instructions will be given at the bar)

When you ask a brewery how long they’ve been open and they say«Several years.» And you’re surprised because you LOVE breweries and you really had no idea that this one existed. Good luck finding the place. No, really. It’s completely hidden. Even if Siri is guiding you and you know where you’re going, it’s likely to take several wrong turns and a few«Really? Where are we going?!» before you end up pulling into a parking space just in front of the brewery. The ambiance sucks. It’s a brewery, not a bistro, and it definitely takes that to heart. A bar, several fun games to play while you drink, and some popcorn/nuts to soak up the brew. This is what you get. Also, a group of regulars. Basically, my favorite place to drink. Their beer is good. Not going to be the best you’ve ever tasted, but it’s very decent and they do some unique things. First, if it’s your first time you get a full taster set for free. How cool is that? Second, while they have several beers on tap and in bottles, some of their tasting glasses are filled with mixes of their beers – it’s one of the few breweries I’ve been to that does a really good job of taking their beers and making them better by mixing them with different beers(their own as well). If you have questions, ask the guy pouring. He knows all. If he doesn’t know(maybe if it’s about another brewery), one of the regulars at the bar will.

Great, high quality craft beer. Customer service is wonderful; one can tell the owner loves sharing his thoughts about his beer! Nice tasting room. Check out this brewery and support local entrepreneurs.

I’ve had Stoneyhead Brewing on my list of local breweries to try out for a while now, and then Paul was going to host a UYE here and I thought, perfect! Not only do I get to go to my first Beer Club event, but I can finally check out Stoneyhead. This brewery is hard to find, but they have signs out to help point you in the right direction. They offer free tastings of their beers and of course you can purchase growlers or bring a growler to fill with anything they have on tap. We collect Growlers from the different breweries that we try, so we bought one filled with their Honey Porter for $ 23. The Honey Porter is a mix of(you guessed it) their Honey Ale and their Porter. It’s really, really good! They do not serve food, but they had snacks of popcorn and pretzels out during our visit. They also sell t-shirts and tanks with their logo on them. The brewery itself is small, but that gives you the chance to actually meet the guys making the beer. We had a chance to talk with Cody and learn about their brewing process. They also recycle the used grain by having a local farmer pick it up and feed his goats with it. We always like to hear about local companies helping other local companies. Overall, we had a great time, we enjoyed the beers we sampled and we will visit again!

In an era where good customer service, especially in the hospitality industry, seems to be dying, Stoneyhead refuses to follow suit. I didn’t catch the gentleman’s name that was on shift that day(I do know he was not the owner), but he was quick, attentive, non evasive and friendly. Pretzels and popcorn bowls placed out on the bar for snacking(and thirst making for more beer buying) were quickly refilled as were the empty beer glasses. A decent assortment of quality beers were on tap. This place isn’t far from where I live but this was my first time stopping in. It seemed a lot of locals gather here. Some places heavily populated by locals can make you feel alienated or «out of the loop». As a matter of fact some of the bad service I have had at other places in town largely stemmed from the fact that the staff seemed more interested in chatting and hanging with their friends than with helping a new face. This was not the case at Stoneyhead. The beertender quickly assed that we were new to the location and jumped right in to offer us the full round of tasters. It was so refreshing to have such great service after the string of lousy incidents in recent days. They fill growlers and sell four packs of their bottles on site. We took home a 4-pack of their«Sneak Attack: English style IPA. The bottles did have one problem at home of perhaps being over carbonated, but other than that, we had a great experience.

This is a neat lil’ brewery. The bartenders customer service is an A+. He made me feel right at home-This was my first visit. I was able to taste what Stoneyhead offers-delicious. Loved the popcorn and pretzels. We took a four pack home with us too. I liked how it felt like a locals hang out. It was a great experience and I can’t wait to go back. Next time-I’ll bring my growler to fill!

If you want to hang out with your friends without the hassle of waiting in line at the bar for a bartender to get to your order, then Stoneyhead Brewery is for you! The atmosphere here is down to earth, everybody is laid back. Their selection of beer is amazing, if you want Genuine Local Craft Beer this is the spot to go. I personally love their beer, the taste is different from others that I have tried. Shelly and Paul are the most awesome people to hang and chat with. They actually entertain their customers! They don’t hide behind an office door, they are there behind the counter pouring your cold pint of goodness! Come here and discover this awesome hole in the wall that Reno has to offer. You can’t go wrong if you just want to hang and relax. I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Great assortment of beers… Both of the«sneaky“s were delicious. We took a growler to go but they also had 4pk bottles. The Porter was also on point.

I really enjoyed the Irish Red, great taste and a nice way to end your work day. You can purchase a glass and chill and you can also buy some to go. I would recommend it.
