I’m going to be honest, I finally stopped in to check out this place because of all the good things that I had heard. Unfortunately I did not seem to have the same experience. I found the bar to be cramped, and somewhat unkempt. I then approached the counter to order a beverage. It took entirely too long to get service(considering that there were no more than 15 patrons, and two bar tenders on duty). And once we got our drinks, they were below average in quality. I had ordered a mimosa from one gentlemen, and left my tab open. When I came up to ask for a little more orange juice for the rest of my champagne, the female bartender looked at me like I was crazy and informed me that they don’t carry champagne. Then it too her about 15 minutes to close out my tab. Unfortunately it seemed just to be a rough night. This will be a location that I will most likely not return to.

I went to The Point on a Saturday night a couple weeks ago and had a great time! My girlfriend and I enjoyed a show in the back room then came out to the bar area afterwards and sang karaōke. Excellent karaōke setup! There’s a small stage with two mikes on stands and the sound is great! I really enjoyed myself and all the other singers were super nice and there was actually some very talented people there. I met Paul & Gina, the owners and they were wonderful. I started a tab when I got there around 6 p.m. and I bought a lot of drinks and at the end of the night I was pleasantly surprised at how low my tab was. If you’re looking for a good time with some good people I would highly recommend The Point.

We LOVED The Point, before they moved. I know it wasn’t their choice, they couldn’t renew the lease, but this place is no longer fun. Tiny dance floor, no way to get to the bar to order drinks as people park their butts there and don’t move. Singing is practically impossible to get up to the stage to do. Admittedly, I haven’t been in probably 6 months, but that was my first and last experience at the new place. The bathrooms were having issues, so where we were sitting, against the wall reaked like poop. The other part of the place was blocked off. Some friends have gone fairly recently, and they said nothing has changed. We had heard rumors they were going to renovate the place and open it up, get rid of some walls, but hasn’t happened. We used to frequent twice a month or more, and that hasn’t and won’t happen until things change. Which sucks, they had good DJ’s generally, and good music selections at the old place. No smoking and sometimes this amazing burger truck. Too bad they couldn’t have kept the old location. A lot of the people that go in now, are 2nd street karaōke super drunk and careless. This location was cool because the people were there to have a good time, but not be destructive and obnoxious.

Awesome place to hang out, relax and sing some songs. The owners Paul and Gina are absolutley wonderful fun people. A great mix and local and out of town customer base.

The Point is fantastic! The sound system is the bomb plus its a non smoking establishment which is very important to folks trying to get their singing on. Excellent singers hit this spot on a regular. Super nice family owned business with an old school personal feel. Its definitely not just a silly be drunk and goofy karaōke its a place where folks with a REAL talent to sing showcase their skills. A party high energy atmosphere is the overall theme in the place and as each person singing provides their part to the music growing genre to make a completion of the collaboration being established… They do what they do and it works! No other karaōke spot in Reno comes close to providing the quality as this place. Great places are like The Point are often imitated but never duplicated! Ill give it 10 stars just for the sound system alone but dont just take my word check it out yourself. If your looking for quality this is it… if looking for .99 cheap beer off singing and rudeness? Then hit another spot.

The Point is my home away from home and I don’t even sing. Paul and Gina(owners) are 2 of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Karaōke is Thurs-Sat. Open Jam session on Sundays at 6:30. The singers in Reno are amazing! A great group of regular clientele. Kinda like«Cheers» where everybody knows your name and there’s karaōke!

Eek! Methinks not! That’s a great depiction for The Point. First of all, they advertise karaōke on weekends, they did not do karaōke at all this weekend. A dance floor? Nope, not one of those either. We did however get pretty lousy bar service, very aggressive clientele, and assaulted by a drunkard outside of their establishment! YAY, EVERYTHINGYOUCANEVERWANT! Oh, and I was asked to leave after being punched in the face. Good work, The Point. I won’t be back. Good experiences last 2 months, bad experiences last YEARS. And I’ll be letting all my friends know WHERETONOTGO for karaōke. Skip this place at all costs.

The Point moved from W 4th Street to this location. This used to be El Borracho. There’s a medium-sized bar area and then a room with tables, but I’m not entirely sure what you’d do there unless the place is packed and you need a place to sit in a separate room. They don’t serve food here. What they do is karaōke Friday and Saturday nights at 9PM. They are closed Sun — Tuesday. There’s a small dance floor. It feels a little small in there once you get people dancing and stuff. There was some wedding party thing going on when I went, so perhaps if it’s crowded it feels really tight. Not a bad addition to the Midtown area. What I really like about their karaōke system is that they show you how many songs to go until you’re up. I rarely ever went here when it was on W 4th Street but I’ll definitely go here. It’s a bit nicer venue than say Cortez or W 2nd St for karaōke and cozier.
