So the facility gets 0 stars. Dated cheap dirty moldy and falling apart. The message room you could smell the toilet and hear the flush. REALLY? See pictures of the shower steam room and sauna… gross! Had a decent message by a very nice lady, Heather. She was good and I give her 4 stars. Averaged is 2. They should pay Heather more!

I went from extremely dark box bought black hair to a bronze blonde thanks to Daniella! She was extremely nice and thoughtful about what I wanted. Though it wasn’t delivered how I wanted it exactly but it turned out great still. She lightened my hair really well and took great care of it products wise. Ask for Daniella on your next hair appointment!

Got a Total Rewards offer here for a nice discount on spa services, so I decided to splurge once I found out that I could combine the offer with Reward credits. I was almost immediately disappointed from the minute I walked in. The entire salon looked tired and ignored like a red-headed stepchild. I opted to go for the 80-minute aromatherapy massage for $ 140. Now let me tell you, this isn’t something I do for myself frequently, but I’d been on the road a lot and I just needed to treat myself to something nice. As for aromatherapy, pretty much the only choice was something lavendar-ish in the massage oil. It wasn’t very strong and the smell pretty much disappeared within an hour. When I lay down in the cramped tiny room and put my face through the little donut hole, I had to laugh — this was the only massage I’ve ever had where instead of a beautiful bowl of scented water with flower petals(or something similar), I got to stare at the massage therapist’s shoes. The massage itself seemed… insipid. The pressure was okay for me, it just didn’t «do» anything for me. I did fall asleep, but honestly, and I hate to say this, I think I was just bored. Don’t Shoot Me! The atmosphere of the place was so uninviting that I wanted to leave as soon as possible. The little«waiting» area had tables where magazines were scattered and messy and there was garbage on the floor. I noticed it before I went in for my massage. I came out 80 minutes later and not a single staff member had bothered to straighten the area up? In the reception area, there were several girls who were just sitting around staring at their phones furiously texting or Facebooking or whatever. I would’ve given 2 stars but my massage therapist was nice, just not amazing. For $ 140, I wanted amazing.

Moved to Reno and was looking for someone to my regular waxing lady in town and saw Carly’s review. Locals get 25% off the spa and restaurants along with rooms in Reno so I signed up for Total Rewards where they put a local sticker on it. My eyebrow appointment was with Heather. She was very thorough with my brows and was very friendly and gave me eyebrow advised(yeah my brows are uneven!). When I told her I was looking to use the facilities(there is no minimum to spend in order to use the facilities here), she brought me a mimosa, bathrobe, sandals, and a little extra champagne! She also gave me a little sunscreen since I mentioned I forgot mine. I’m a local(now anyway), and want to be pampered too! She did a good job cleaning up my brows but to be completely honest, she really didn’t give me the arch shape I asked about. When I was done gabbing with a nice tourist in the locker room I then went to use the little whirlpool. They have 2 rooms within the locker room with basically bath tubs except they have arm rests and jets. It wasn’t fancy at all, but hell I wanted to get my money’s worth! After that I went to use the steam room. EXCELLENT steam room. Many steam rooms have hardly any steam! Just wish they had eucalyptus scented steam. Then I went to the pool area. A bit of a disappointment. No ambiance, bar was closed(was told the bartender just quit), and it’s all concrete. Average age was over 55 it appeared. Anyway I just laid down on a lounge chair and read about how Khloe Kardashian is going to leave Lamar. When I went to pay it was less than $ 14 for my brows(with the 25% off discount). Pretty good deal considering I haven’t gotten my brows touched since the end of July. Most of the services looked overpriced(but hotel spas usually are), but the waxing is very reasonable. –1 because I agree with Dee that it does need a bit of a makeover. It doesn’t have much of a spa atmosphere but hell from 11 – 1, I got my brows done, a drink, used a steam room, used a whirlpool, and laid out by the pool for less than $ 18. Heather will be my go to waxer in Reno :) While I went here a few times, I do need more of a shape instead of just a brow cleaning. I also found that end of the day appointments were hard to get(hotel spas operate very differently than regular spas). Now looking for a regular person whose hours fit my schedule more. Will miss using the facilities here and the price :(

I love this spa. Its like a private little gym. You have an exercise room, steam room, sauna, and a bath with jets. You can close the door to have privacy, and the locker area is small with keys provided by the front desk. The day I went it was empty except for two other people. I was a guest at Harrah’s and yet I still paid the $ 5 which is VERY affordable for the amenities they provide. I have never seen a pool which is 8 feet deep let alone swim in one, yet they have it. I believe they close at 8pm everyday and they also close the pool during the snowy months. The staff is very friendly. I was waiting for a few minutes by the desk and was approached many times by employees who told me someone will be with me, smiling. Quick shout out to Danielle. Superb service!

This review is for the mens health/fitness club and pool area in the Spa at Harrah’s only, as I haven’t tried any of the spa services themselves. Either way, I’ve found the desk staff to be extremely friendly. It’s located on the fifth floor of the West Tower and is open from 7 am — 7 pm seven days per week. The pool is area is very big(although unheated and seasonal,) 3 – 8 ft. deep, has a separate designated smoking area, several private cabanas for hire, in addition to a poolside tiki bar that has a truly awesome mural of Lake Tahoe painted on two of its sides. The artist went all out by putting logos like Skyy, Corona and Jameson on the sails of the painted sailboats in the mural. Really nice touch. Fully padded wrought iron lounges, chairs and tables are everywhere, availability never a problem. Awesome views of the city. My only qualms — no hot tub or diving board, just the pool, and it seems to be closed for the entire day every time there’s an accident or a small child has peed/dumped in it. What parents are doing bringing their kids to the casinos at all is still way beyond me, but oh well. After recently becoming a Diamond player at Harrah’s, I was notified that the health/fitness club has completely free admission for Diamond and Seven Stars players(which is probably why I never had checked it out before — it’s $ 5 per day for all others.) In addition, although it’s not really heavily publicized, you don’t necessarily need to be staying at the hotel to utilize it — many locals are in there quite frequently, including myself. Sure beats having to pay a membership fee at a local club elsewhere. The entrance has a really nice rock waterfall and a bunch of electric candles lining the walls. Once inside, there’s the standard locker room, scale, and restrooms. There’s a separate entrance to the exercise room, which I haven’t checked out yet. There are two individual jetted whirlpools in separate rooms, which is awesome, as you don’t need to deal with the whole public hot tub scene(or the chlorine, or the pee,) in addition to a sauna, steam room, and shower stalls. Sauna: OK for the most part, medium sized, two levels. Steam Room: Medium sized, two levels, thermostat controls seem to be set where the cycle begins every 10 minutes or so. In a nutshell, it’s a pretty good setup, just old, and on the smaller side. As I’ve been in many health clubs all over the world, here are the issues: 1. There should be more signs posted telling people what and where things are. The few signs that are currently posted contain typographical errors and are a bit misleading. 2. There should be signs & locks on the tub doors. The tubs are first come, first served, and the open doors usually indicate they’re available, while the closed doors along with the jet timers being on usually indicate they’re occupied. However, there’s been many occasions where I’ve been walked in on, simply because people don’t know what’s inside the rooms. Many people often fail to leave the doors open after they’re done using the tubs, making it sometimes hard to determine if one is actually available. The drains to the individual whirlpools have a unique release setup: it’s a dial that’s turned to the left or right, located right under the faucet. So many people can’t figure it out, the tubs are often left undrained by previous occupants. 3. The sauna’s breaker trips out a lot, making it go cold, although the controls are indicating it’s working properly. I’ve seen one repeat vagrant dump whole bottles of water on the rocks vs. drizzling them. There’s a breaker release switch on the extreme lower left hand of the heater unit, but again, no signs indicating so. 4. The biggest issues I’ve encountered here are with the clientele of people, and their lack of etiquette. I swear I’ve seen a few homeless people wandering in and out, somehow getting past the check in desk. Lots of older, weird types that seem to like letting their junk hang out vs. wearing a towel or baggies — this ain’t Finland! It seems like the place stays constantly trashed with everyone’s towels being thrown on the floor instead of in the many bins throughout the club(which all have signs!) — sorry, but the last thing I wanna be doing is sitting in a steam room full of used, skid-marked towels, or stepping all over them to get from one place to another! Not to mention people doing just plain stupid things, like leaving newspapers/towels/water bottles literally inches away from the sauna heater, a fire hazard for sure. More people than not are often loud and are constantly yapping in the steam room and sauna, totally killing the relaxation vibe. Many leave the doors to the steam room and sauna wide open, completely throwing their cycles off. It’s not a bad idea to bring a spray bottle of bleach water and sandals, because I’ve never seen any sanitization of the tubs and steam room going on, only dirt rings left behind in the tubs.

I booked nail appointments for the ladies in my family during our visit this past weekend(Memorial wkend). I called a couple weeks ahead and was able to make appointments for us all without a problem. I wasn’t sure what to expect based on below reviews but the spa is easy to find(5th floor) and the entrance is very modern and clean. We were quickly ushered in to a room with two pedicure chairs, a hair salon chair, and one table for manicures. There is also a washroom there for our use. The room is beautiful and there are four leather chairs to lounge in. Theresa did all of our nails(three manicures and one pedicure) within 2 hours and was amazing. Super friendly and she chatted with us and went above and beyond during our visit. We happened to chat about nail art and I walked away with funky ‘tiger’ stripes on my nails. Ask to see her examples of past work as if you’re getting gel nails, she has amazing options. Prices are super reasonable to cheap and we were even provided with complimentary mimosas. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend coming in as the staff was amazing and we had such a fabulous time! Thank you!

It’s was my first massage ever. I booked an appt for a neck, back and shoulder massage. It was wonderful! I felt that the cost might have been a little high, but I did not take advantage of the other things I could have having the massage. With that, you have use of the health club and other areas of the spa for the day. I would like to visit again if we make it out to Reno again.

I got married in Reno, and Nancy came in on her day off to wax my eyebrows, color my hair, and give me a manicure for the wedding. She was pleasant the whole time, and made the experience absolutely wonderful! Theresa helped my mom with her manicure and the both of these ladies were wonderful. I would definitely go here again.

I made an appointment for a hair cut and color. We are from out of town and staying at Harrah’s hotel while my husband is working in the area. We were going to be here for a few weeks so it was convenient to book at their salon. I was a little skeptical because I couldn’t find many reviews regarding the salon itself and/or any hair services. But I decided to give it a try. I had Ms. Tracie and she was SUPERFABULOUS! She has a great personality and did a fantastic job on my hair!!! :) She took her time to make sure everything turned out the way I wanted it. She was very friendly and positive and it made for a great experience. We discussed what I wanted and she gave me a price upfront which I appreciated. I have been shocked before when getting the total. So I thought this was a nice touch. And the price was very fair, especially for a salon inside a casino hotel. I realize a couple of other casinos have newer spas and salons. But Harrah’s should feel lucky to have employees like Tracie working for them. I have already made an appointment for nails tomorrow and plan to visit Heather for a facial next week. :) We try to be loyal to Harrah’s since they treat us nicely with comps. So I just hope they value their employees which are doing a great job pleasing their customers! :) Book your appointment with Tracie today! You will leave a happy woman!

In serious need of a remodel, walls need moved as the layout is discombobulated, and it is beyond old and tired. Time to send some of the gaming profits this way, less you lose $ to other casino resorts that have the full package. They have a good special going $ 150 for a 1 hour massage and 1 hour facial. The gal who did my massage talked about 70% of the time. If the client is not initiating the conversation, then they are just being polite in responding to your initiations, silence makes the massage markedly better, and will lead to more satisfied clients, and might lead to better tips. 1 star just for Heather, whom gave me one of the best facials, I’ve ever had. I would go back again just for her, and would check out what else she offers. Is she the same Heather mentioned in another Unilocal, that did waxing?

My sister and I choose The Spa for convenience, I was staying at Harrah’s.We did a some research but decided on Harrah’s and we didnt feel like driving to the Atlantis. We asked about there specials and decided on the 50 minute massage and express mani/pedi. That was our first mistake. The Atlantis was a few dollars more but was most likely worth it. When we arrived we were greeted by our M.T. and nail technician l. When taking the tour of the facilities it was brought to my attention that I could not use the the spa with my boyfriend. I felt that when I am being charged $ 10 a day to use this facility I would like to spend that time with someone I can talk to. I was able to use the area for free because I was paying for services, however the BF had to pay the fee. Once he realized what was going on he decided against it. If you were wanting to sit in a in a hot tub that isn’t what you get. It is a tub with jets in a room by yourself. Its ok if your not like me and wonder how many people were in there before you and when was it last cleaned. I will say that although the décor was out-dated and the waiting area didn’t have a gossip mag in sight the steam room and sauna were nice. My sister had her massage first so I used the«hot tub» and steam room. I dont really do well in that kind of stuff for long periods of time so I took like a 15 minute break on the couch reading USA Today(I had to read USA Today. UGGHH, because of the lack of bad mag reading) which isnt something really upbeat to be reading on my spa day. While I am doing this I cant help but hear the therapist talking. I thought that was weird. The I realized it had happened the whole time I was sitting there. I decided to go back into the steam room where I was met a few minutes later by my sister. She was clearly disappointed by her massage but did the best she could to hide it from me. I went into my 50 minute massage with an open mind. I think the entire time I had about three minutes of relaxing silence. The therapist was very nice but talked way too much. The combination of relaxation, hot stone and deep tissue was different. It was nice to experience the variation of massage but not worth the 110 dollars. After my horrific massage I met my sister in the steam room where we sat for about 30 minutes before mani/pedi. That was awesome. Thankfully our nail tech saved the day she was so super cute and personable. She worked with what she had. and there was plenty of champagne to drink.

You can use the spa for FREE all day with any service! I live in Reno and I go here to use the spa… but I get an EBW from Heather! Heather(wax) does a fantastic job. It is so relaxing and pretty at this spa. For the price of an eyebrow wax, I have sat in a whirlpool of my own(private room), lounged by the rooftop pool(it has drinks!), and sat in sauna/steamrooom/jacuzzi. Seriously, I almost hate to tell everyone abou this. It is Reno’s best kept secret in my opinion. So, if you feel like getting away from our man/kids/job/parents, whatvah, make an appointment at the spa and use al of their relaxing and beautifying stuff for free! Remeber to see the lovely Heather!
