Very good dining experience. Food was good. Nothing was extraordinary but it was a solid experience. Prices were what you would expect for this quality of dining.

Why does the restaurant not provide serving spoons for small plates that are to be shared by diners??? The waiter presents a large bowl, which he places in the center of the table to be shared by myself and 3 companions. One companion dips in with her spoon, takes a bite and then a second. The dish has totally lost any appeal for my appetite. The restaurant has an extensive small plate menu for Happy Hour, but they should consider providing serving utensils so that all may enjoy. 2÷22÷16. Just went to Twisted Fork for happy hour, wine and small plates. No serving pieces accompanied the small plates until asked for. Why???

Went here for the first time a couple weeks ago. The place is big, with nice big booths. I had the Brie Chicken sandwich, and it was delicious. I opted for a side salad instead of fries, and the salad had mixed greens, and was really good. The waitress was very friendly, and I plan to go back soon.

I hate to be one of the only bad reviews, but we were highly disappointed over Valentine’s Day Weekend. We hoped that this was going to be a wonderful dinner and valentines date… but alas it was not… sadly. The Positives: Amazing customer service, attentive waiter, nice seating, great beer and awesome margarita. The Negatives: The food was poor. We should have sent it back and asked for something different. I had the special of the weekend, the filet. It was not worth $ 38. I should have sent it back and have it recooked or asked for something different.(this may be my fault for not bringing it to the waiters attention, he surely would have fixed it, I am almost positive of this). My wife had the Cabernet Braised Kobe Beef Short Ribs. She said that they were«ok.» After leaving and into the next day, the didn’t feel well and that the food«just didn’t sit right». Horrible to know that this was our«special night out». To spend over $ 120 was not worth it and to leave feeling unsatisfied and with upset stomachs was highly disappointing. We will not be back and will take our $ 120+ dinners/special events elsewhere. For $ 120 you should get great service and a great dinner.

A little bit out of the way for most locals to get to. but definitely worth the drive. A large open outside seating area for when the wind is not blowing and the snow is not coming down, is the ideal place to sit to be able to view the variety of the Reno scenery. from the sagebrush to the pines!!! Inside he booths have high sides and allow for a more intimate atmosphere, small enough for 2 or big enough for 8. The service staff is very knowledgeable. They know the menu and can and do easily make substitutions. We often go here with our Vegan friends and the menu is friendly to them! Often the waiter gives them a new option as well. A full bar that is separated from the general restaurant so if you want to watch sports you can, with some video poker machines as well in there. A very large wine list and beers including a lot of local flavors with the wait staff offering a sample of the beer to make sure the selection was the right one. Before you can order a basket of freshly baked bread appears so that not only can you smell it, but you have to taste it before deciding what to eat! The appetizers are big enough for a full meal, many of them are the smaller versions of the full dinner menu. The ravioli’s are plump and the just enough sauce to cover them without smothering it. The fondue has that fun cheese that stretches and can be twisted around the toasted bread while eating… ceviche…the fish one, or the cauliflower one… both are packed with flavor and a HUGE portion.(cauliflower is my favorite). A wide variety of salads, it is either always the pear, blue cheese salad or the fresh herbs… both are full of crispy lettuce(more exotic greens than Romaine)…fresh fruit and candied nuts. Tangy and just enough dressing. If you are still hungry the dinner menu is loaded with everything from salmon, rib eyes, burgers, pizza, pasta and shrimp options. The sides that come with each dish are fresh and attractive.(I enjoy watching the waitstaff walk by with dishes for another table). One never feels rushed to leave, the coffee is freshly brewed and there is always a refill being poured while you catch up with your dinner guests.

Outstanding, outstanding, outstanding. The food was great! This place could hold its own among the top restuants I have been to. Feels like fine dining with great prices. I ordered the BBQ burger cooked medium rare and they nailed it. Serice was great and they anticipated my needs. I totally recommend this restaurant.

3 words– Caprese Grilled Cheese. Yummy and comforting on sourdough –grilled cheese. I was super torn on what to order. That means I had options. The girl with all the weird restrictions had options! I love options-because it doesn’t happen often. It’s generally a salad or a really sad veggie burger(like straight out of the freezer and into the microwave-veggie burger). They have a great selection of «foodie» vegetarian dishes. I went with the grilled cheese because they put basil and tomato in it. SOLD. It had the perfect crunch and melt. The fries were good but I was eyeing my friends side salad(funny-right?!) and will probably go that route next time. It had apples on it-who does that on a side salad?! We started our meal with the cauliflower ceviche which sounds weird but it’s so amazing. The texture is spot on for ceviche-you wouldn’t guess it’s all veggie. There were 5 of us at lunch and everyone enjoyed it. Our server was awesome-2 minutes, 2 bites-the whole shebang. My only issue with Twisted is that they are dangerously close to my work…

I have to say all the hype of this place was pretty on point. The atmosphere definitely is more geared towards the working young crowd with happy hours. I had their ceviche de atun, it was definitely my favorite of the night. The dish was big enough for two to share but small enough to be able to eat afterwards. The dish was spicy yet sweet, the tuna itself was fresh and light. The chips that it was served with was crispy and lightly salted. My husband’s ribeye was cooked to perfection, nice medium rare and served with asparagus and a sunny side up egg(yum). My salmon was good, I think it was overcooked, a little dry for my taste. But the flavors were all there. Lemony and robust with tongue tingling flavors. Next time I would try something else but in time I might go back and have a second taste of the salmon.

After nearly two months, we returned and enjoyed our food. My wife had the ahi and I had the espresso burger. I enjoyed both. Our friends had a sandwich made of chicken and brie and the pork tacos. Everybody was happy.

Have to praise Twisted Fork again. We have dined at Twisted Fork numerous times. Services is always excellent and this time was no exception. They have a fine wine list and the manager is very knowledgeable if you have questions. On this visit I choose a burger for lunch with the chips and my ever lov’n had the French Dip with a salad. Both were very tasty. The house made chips are about the best in town. I highly recommend them. Their small plates offer a very nice selection as well as a great selection of salads. This is one of our go to places for the ladies who lunch. It never disappoints.

January 15, 2016 Friday — 1:15PM for lunch 7 adults Atmosphere — 5 stars Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — This is the second time have been here for lunch and a time to update my previous e-mail. Atmosphere — The place has a totally different vibe at lunch than dinner. The place is bright during the day with all the windows letting in the sun. They sat at us at booth for 7 people and still was comfy. Food Drinks — Just water as I am on a lunch break from work. My Main Course — Our table was raving about the short rib grilled cheese. I had to get it. I figured it is a grilled cheese with some meat. It was a meat sandwich with some cheese. The cheese just held the sandwich together. The meat was tender and moist. I am stuffed but I want another sandwich now! Service — Amazing today! Thanks Jenny! Future — For lunch would love too, dinner I would like to try again.

I came here for Happy Hour with my child(*woof*) and the BF. I didn’t expect much from this place considering there isn’t much great choices and options in Reno. But, this place didn’t disappoint, instead I was pretty surprised. Prices are very reasonable(for HH), service was great(we were outside at the patio with the child), and the food was not bad. We ordered 3 items: Mac and cheese, Ravioli, and Prosciutto pizza. Out of those 3, the thing i enjoyed the most was the Mac and cheese(make sure you enjoy it while it’s hot). Like everyone said, nothing super special, but nothing bad here. I will be back for HH with the child and BF.

I have been here twice before and it was ok. Tonight I went for their happy hour«small» plates menu. I was extremely pleased. Beautifully creative dishes that were as stunning to look at as they were delicious!!! FYI they are not small and at $ 6 a plate a fantastic deal! Please Twisted Fork will you share the cauliflower ceviche recipe with me!!! I loved it!!!(I’ll keep it a secret I promise). The staff was great even moved us outside when a friend showed up with her new dog. Very accommodating. I live clear across town in Sparks and rarely make it this far south but I will now for sure!!!

Alright. It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Chef Sergio, Joe, Dave, and their amazing staff and operation(Much love Mimi!). It’s also no secret that I eat here a lot. For dinner mostly though, and very rarely for lunch. But when the opportunity arises to check out the lunch menu, I do get a little excited because it makes me to evaluate all the delicious options differently. My dinner order is somewhat standard including ceviche de atun, another«big small plate» and a shared entrée. But for lunch, I’m in a different mindset. Today te Torta captured my attention. Now TF is the last place Id normal go to get a torta, but knowing Sergio is Mexican, and his food is generally incredible, I figured this was going to be a great one. On the menu it’s described as Carnitas, pickled jalapeño, shaved red onion, chipotle hummus, aioli, and avocado served on a toasted roll. This sandwich is all that and more! What makes it special are the carnitas. When you see that word you immediately think pulled/shredded pork, but here that’s not the case. This is a pork shoulder cooked carnitas style and then sliced thick and put on the plancha to get that crispy exterior. It eats like a carnitas steak! So good! My pro-tip on this sandwich is to take the kitchen’s suggestion and leave it in the wax paper. I didn’t, cut my sandwich in half, and changed my napkin 3 times in the process of eating it. TF is a great option any time of the day. The Torta was so incredibly craveable that I can’t wait to have another. Since it’s not on the dinner menu and that’s when I usually go, I’ll be the guy in the dining room at dinner time begging them to serve me one. Remember to say hi if you see me!

I love going to Twisted Fork for lunch! I definitely want to go back for dinner because I am sure the dinner menu is even better. The vibe is very industrial chic and it always feels open and inviting when you walk in. There is a good size bar to your right when you walk in, although I am always there for lunch so I haven’t gone in there… yet! The wine list looks pretty good as do their cocktails. One of the things I like the most about the Twisted Fork are the servers. I have never had a server less than stellar there and today was no exception. John greeted us right away and had our orders in within minutes. He had a great personality and made sure that our glasses were full and that our meals were delivered quickly. He even brought me a special dressing(Wasabi Ranch) to dip my chips in because he said it was a staff favorite and he thought I would like it. He was right! I always want to try something different for lunch but the Brie Chicken sandwich always calls my name and I can’t stray from it. Layered with a grilled chicken breast, mushrooms, fried onions & shallots, tomatoes, and of course brie, it is so delicious! I always order it without the bread and have them put their house made chips… so good! There is a nice patio outside that I am dying to try but today’s weather was not cooperative. Hubby’s company uses their private meeting room for dinners and says they do a great job with groups as well. If you are looking for a nice restaurant for lunch in the south, I would definitely give it a try!

I always like going to Twisted Fork. Not only is it close to my work but it’s one of the nicer restaurants in South Reno for a good price. I almost always get their special of the day which is normally an excellent salad. I had the salmon salad there last time. Another one of my favorites is the veggie tamal which is on their big-small plates. They have a good happy hour with fresh drinks and good beers on tap. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a good atmosphere, nice service and great food!

It’s so not in my neighborhood, but so worth the drive. In the summer we enjoy late lunch on the large patio after golf. But lately we have been stopping in dinners. Come on let’s face it– any time of day or year is just a good time to eat here. The service whether it has been a couple of us or many has been great. Questions on the wine or beer list have been easily answered and offered to sample to make sure of the choice. I like that menu has small plate, big small plate and regular entrée selections for various appetites. Nothing seems plain Jane on the menu– they have gourmet burgers, wonderful huge salads, interesting sandwiches and even steaks. Picture day way more than I can describe their food, so check them out.

I find it is rare for me to be able to give a place all 5 stars because the teacher in me has to really make sure it means the place is an A+ in all areas. Twisted Fork definitely made me fork over that outstanding A+ for our dinner last night. I love a place that can surprise me and they sure did. I want to start out by saying the service was fantastic. Our waitress was extremely attentive without being overbearing. Our glasses were never more than half empty, half full? My water loving heart was thrilled not to have to ask for a refill ATALL during our stay! As soon as a plate was emptied a bus person was by to pick it up a mere moment later. Everyone was so friendly and hospitable I felt like I was eating a meal in the South and loved every minute of it. Southern hospitality is pretty impossible to find here on the West coast so when I spot it I am thrilled. People think it’s a lie but us Southerners take our hospitality seriously! We want you to leave feeling like part of our family. Twisted Fork has this in spades and I would return just to experience that little piece of home here in Reno but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the food! I have Big love for the BIG-small plates. I have a hard time finishing a big portion of food but find an appetizer isn’t big enough to serve as an entrée’. Twisted Fork also solved this problem! The BIG-small plates are big on flavor, big on food, but in a small portion that is still very filling! Tonight I was starving so I actually ordered two of the BIG-small plates but on an average day one of these would have been plenty. Let’s start with the Short Rib Arepa. I love love love short ribs and order them whenever possible! This dish was absolutely phenomenal. The short ribs were in their tender, melt in your mouth, make you moan moment. The crispy corn cake added a nice texture to the dish with the crema fresca and avocado lime cilantro purée adding the perfect taste to the dish without overpowering that delicious meat. I would have this every night if I could! The second dish was a BIG-small Risotto Crab Croquettes. I liked the flavor and texture on this one but the romesco sauce was a miss for me. I think it competed with the flavor of the crab too much. This was the dish I had the highest hopes for, I love anything crab, and it was just a little off. I didn’t feel like the crab was as much of a star as it should have been. Don’t get me wrong, it was still a good dish but I didn’t think it was as good as the arepa. For dessert they had a nice selection that the waitress gave us verbally, they don’t have them printed out. I tuned out anything until I hear chocolate so I can’t honestly remember many of the other options. I got the brownie with a raspberry purée. It arrived with ice cream on top and was pretty good. The raspberry purée gave enough of an added flavor to make the brownie unique. The ice cream was the perfect amount so I could have a bite of brownie with ice cream for every portion of this dish. That always makes me happy. Overall, this was a fantastic meal for a random Tuesday night dinner.

Walking into Twisted Fork, you will likely encounter the notorious mob of Reno’s Kept Housewives. They will likely be absolutely suffocating the laypeople with Gucci’s latest Toomuch perfume. This, my friend, is the restaurant of the Botoxed, the Bedazzled, the Betty Crocker in Beemers of Reno. This is the watering hole of Galena High School’s PTA super-moms. The place where the Aging Gracefully are quickly shunned and the Scalpel-Obsessed are warmly welcomed. It is where I have to protect my boyfriend like a lioness protecting a fresh kill from hungry hyenas«Back! Back, you ‘definitely not your natural hair color’, back! Back, you ‘wearing your daughter’s tank top’! Back!» That’s pretty twisted. But here’s what’s REALLY twisted about this place… the fact that it’s not more popular than it already is(I mean seriously!) What’s wrong with all you dumb Forks out there? My go-to Celiac-friendly meal is the Apple and Pear Salad with seared ahi. NEVERONCE have they over cooked the ahi. I’m serious, Forkers. They know how to sear a Forking tuna steak. It’s always perfectly peppered and precisely prepared. They use a gratuitous amount of Gorgonzola, which as it turns out, is about all it takes to win my heart. On the same Celiac train, they always have a couple of ciders available, and sometimes they even have one on tap! This winter they had a pear cider that was delicious and, as you’d expect, went delightfully well with my salad. The boyfriend has ordered a wider range of meals here, and he’s never once left disappointed. He’s raved about the Chicken and Italian Sausage Pasta. And he’s had the New York Steak a few times with nothing but the best to say! And that’s probably one of the most appealing things about this restaurant: the Forking consistency! So while you may have to endure the MILF sideshow, what you won’t have to endure is a disappointing, unimaginative meal. I am truly impressed with how this restaurant has progressed over the past few years. And I hope to see them continue to flourish. FYI: I’m holding my 5th star hostage until they ACTUALLY get some twisted forks as silverware. Yeah, that’s right, it’s a mother-Forking hostage situation.
