UYE Esteban’s Happy Hour – Wild River Grille

Four stars because Esteban is not actually here!
What could be finer than sitting outside on one of the best restaurant patios around sipping drinks, eating great apps and visiting with Unilocalers? Oh, and being able to walk home. That is a real plus for these downtown events.
The real plus for me was getting to meet some new (to me) Unilocalers — Ruth G, Jennifer J and Jason. Getting some time with old friends is always a treat.
The drinks were great — I am hooked on the Wild River Mule. I also pigged out on the Bruschetta and the heavenly Salmon/​Crab cakes. I really need to get the sliders next time or maybe the Fish Tacos (thanks Sabrina for sharing)
Angela did a great job keeping us all in food and drink, running a gazillion separate tabs, and not messing any of the orders up! She is a pro.
Yea, and it was windy — Donna, you need to work on that.

The Happy Hour menu at Wild River is really quite good. I had a couple of glasses of their house wine ($ 4 each) and the short rib sliders (on recommendation) for $ 7. They were so delicious! After happy hour was over, I also ordered their cheese plate which came with an assortment of three types of cheese, pecans, local honey and fruit. It was also really good, especially with the wine!
We sat outside on their patio under the umbrellas listening to some local blues music. It was a bit windy but it’s Nevada, so that is expected in the afternoon. Our server Angela was amazing, she kept us all on separate checks without being asked and everything was perfect on our check. I had a great time catching up with and meeting fellow Unilocalers!

This one was a tad windy as we hung out on Wild River Grille’s patio, but still a pleasant night. Seventeen Unilocalers had a nice evening enjoying the happy hour menu of drink and food specials. I big thanks to Chuck, the owner, who extended the happy hour specials to 6:30 for our group. Angela was fabulous as our wait staff. She was constantly on the run as more people trickled in, getting orders and bringing them to the table. Bless her because she kept everyone on separate checks without any mistakes. Wild had us set up in our area which was also nice and Esteban had his own spot to watch over us all.
Cheers again to Esteban, and thanks to all who came out and had a few drinks with us. Look forward to seeing everyone next month.

Atmosphere — We sat outside under giant umbrellas. What a lovely night and the company was pretty good too.
Food
Drinks — Lagunitas Pils, aka Pilsner, for $ 3 during the happy hour.
Dinner — Esteban recommended the sliders so I had to get them. I picked the short rib sliders, three of them were perfect. My mouth is watering now thinking about. Please I need some more.
Service — Perfect. Angela was friendly and fast. And splitting the checks was not even a question which is great with a large group.
Future — I think I want to go back to their happy hour again.
