Had to try after reading the great reviews on Unilocal and it did not disappoint! Omg the Banh Mi was an explosion of flavors including cilantro with a few hits of hotness — incredible!!! Did take-out and it was ready in 10 minutes. Ordered it with the Grilled pork. This is the slow food that I need during lunch. Quick, easy and healthy and so delicious. Will be back! Tried the fried banana for desert — not my fav — would not get that again. But that sandwich… yes please!

Mixed feelings about this restaurant. Service is extremely slow. The server got my order wrong. I ordered chicken porridge and got fish porridge, but ate it anyway because I was too hungry to wait for them to make the right dish. On the other hand, the porridge was really good! I can’t hate slow service if they give me something that’s worth the wait. Other negatives: My husband ordered a spicy soup dish which wasn’t that great. He also ordered a vietnamese iced coffee, which was brought out in a single serve coffee dripper. We were finished with our meals before the coffee cup was even half full. You would think at a restaurant they would have that prepared beforehand.

Well detailed menu describing a large assortment of traditional Vietnamese dishes. Reasonably quick service. I had the Rice-Noodle Salad with BBQ Pork, Shrimp and Egg Roll. Small size was enough for my dinner. Great flavors with super fresh ingredients. Price was very fair.

Well so far pretty good. 4 stars, not perfect but very good. Hopefully food and staff can remain adequate so I can continue to comeback. 3rd place we have tried for Phở, so far the best.

We called 10mins ahead. Reserved table. We have a party of 17. They started setting up the table when we arrive. Took them 10 mins. Ordered and waited for 45 mins. Still no food. People came after us got their food. Maybe our party is too big? Not sure. Don’t come here. Jus finished eating. The food is not up to par either. Conclusion is: do not come.

This place is the best! I have become addicted to their«Bahn mi»(a Vietnamese sandwich). I can call ahead and they have it ready to go, which makes it great for work. Certainly a hidden gem in Reno.

Not impressed with the level of service or quality of the phở. The wait for the food was long and had to remind the worker of our drink orders. Ordered the goi cuon, and it arrived wrapped in plastic wrap. Does it mean it was not freshly rolled? The #3 phở is suppose to come with tendon. Sadly, no tendon in sight. Hubby and daughter noticed the missing tendons in their bowls too. Long wait and mediocre food means no return visit to this restaurant.

Good phở. Good spring rolls. Good service until the joint filled-up and uncovered how poorly staffed Viet Phở is. Also prices are a bit high… especially when they charge $ 3 for hot tea(I liked you until you showed me your«cheap» side). The SF Bay Area has phở at a much better value, but meh, when you’re in Reno, Nevada where else are you going to get phở in a pinch?

1) our tea never came, but we were still charged for it 2) water did not come despite asking for it multiple times. When it was finally brought out, the waitress did not seem happy 3) we waited nearly an hour for our Phở 4) Bun Bo Hue was missing some key ingredients and the restaurant’s reasoning was that there aren’t any Asian markets around… then why is the dish on the menu? Overall this restaurant is critically understaffed which left the experience much to be desired.

A small bowl of phở is plenty for one! We had spicy beef and duck(the duck soup only comes in a large bowl). Hot and filling — exactly what we needed after a day of skiing in Boreal. The owner was friendly and welcoming, and the dishes were served super fast.

I had the chicken egg rolls and the rare steak phở; both were delicious. My friend also enjoyed his phở. The only reason this place did not get 5 stars was because of the slightly slow service. Took over 10 to get a check and about the same time for them to come get it from us when we were ready to pay with our card. Other than that, everything was great. I’ll be back if I am ever in Reno again.

So pleased we tried Viet Phở! Ordered delivery from here through the Unilocal app, which I’ve never done before and am so happy I did! Food arrived quickly, was hot, packaged well, and delicious! We got large orders of the chicken phở and won ton phở. Both were really good. Very nice broth and came with all the fresh phở fixings. I preferred the chicken and my husband preferred the won ton. We also ordered a pork and a chicken banh mi. These were also very tasty. Lots of fresh veggies and the bread was really good. We had plenty for dinner and lunch the next day. Overall, I am extremely pleased with every aspect of our experience with Viet Phở and we will surely be return customers! Great work!

Driving around running errands and the hubby says, «I want Phở.» Now… anyone who knows my hubby, knows he is a picky eater and doesn’t always want things like phở… «But I want to build my own… is that a thing? I want dumplings in it!» Wow that’s a tall order! I immediately took to my phone to search for dumplings in phở Reno NV only to have Viet Phở pop up as number one. Through Unilocal I found out about its star rating and then looked up its menu. The menu had a wor wonton soup with noodles which meant he could have his dumplings. I ordered the #4 Rare Steak, Flank steak and meatballs with rice noodles and all the yummy side veggies and herbs of course. And Mike ordered the #12 Wor Wonton soup with egg noodles and also the veggies and herbs that come with the phở. I got Thai iced tea and him a Coke. The phở was some of the best in town. The broth is what really makes the phở, some aren’t flavorful enough while others are too salty. This was perfect and after adding my veggies, herbs and a little hoisin sauce, it was perfect. Mikes wonton soup with all his veggies ect. Was flavorful and yummy too but the real star was those dumplings! So much flavor in soft little dumplings nestled in a warm soup with noodles… add the phở veggies and you have quiet the soup! All in all it was a great lunch for our anniversary, warm on a cold day, tasty and filling! I want to come back and try the duck soup!

One thing I love about the new location is the expanded menu and the weekend specials, which allow me to eat some of my favorites. They also try to post their specials on their Facebook page. The owner is really friendly and gives me a chance to practice my elementary Vietnamese. If you are new to Viet food their menu and paper guide to Viet food would be very helpful. I tried the special Hu Tieu Nam Vang and my boyfriend had the classic Phở Tai. I am never disappointed and will be frequenting Viet Phở more often.

When you discover a new-to-you food that really excites the palate, or perhaps punches your comfort food buttons, you’re likely to judge later encounters with your earliest experience. Variations on preparation and ingredients between kitchens keep things interesting, but you’ll still have that baseline set of expectations. With this in mind, my wife and I had a mixed experience at Viet Phở. The spring roll my wife and I shared was served in two pieces, tightly bound in plastic wrap($ 3.50). Though I realize they’re prepared in advance, I’ve never had one served this way even as take-out. The plastic was probably left on because the rice paper was very thin in spots, a challenge to keep together while eating. The thick peanut sauce was served cold, topped with at least a couple tablespoons of chopped peanut. The pork was a bit tough but the noodles, veggies, herbs, and shrimp were plentiful and tasty. The appetizer menu includes a couple cabbage salads, something we haven’t seen or tried in the past. We split a chicken cabbage salad($ 6.95), a healthy serving of finely-sliced cabbage topped with thin strips of chicken breast, Thai basil, and chopped peanut. The dressing was very good, a savory combination of flavors pulled together by the unmistakeable pungence of fish sauce. My wife and I agreed we’d return just for that salad; I’d really like to try the shrimp and pork version. Completing the starters, a steamed dim sum combo featuring a sweet pork bun in the middle of the plate surrounded by eight dumplings; four pork, four shrimp($ 6.50). All three items looked very similar to their Chinese counterparts, and the bun was pretty much akin to its northern cousin. The dumplings had a very loose consistency, unlike the firmer texture of siu mai in Chinese dim sum. The shrimp balls were ok on flavor, but I can’t say I cared much for the pork. For lack of a better description, they just didn’t «wow» me. Most soups on the menu are available in small or large servings. My wife ordered a small won ton soup with rice vermicelli noodles($ 7.95), also available with egg noodles. The won ton were very soft, likely steamed rather than fried. My wife really liked them and said this is now her favorite won ton soup in town. I prefer fried won tons in the soup, but agreed the flavors were solid. Torn between ordering a cold noodle bowl or small order of soup, I decided if I’m trying a place called Viet Phở I should probably taste some phở. My usual favorite is phở dac biet($ 7.95), or what I call«all of the cow soup». Featuring rare steak, flank, tendon, tripe, and springy Vietnamese meatballs, it’s the dish that I first fell in love with and order again and again. The broth of this serving was subtle, perhaps not as flavorful as some but good enough I didn’t feel the need to add any sauces. As is customary, a plate of fresh bean sprouts, hot pepper slices, and a more-than-generous sprig of Thai basil was provided with a couple small wedges of lime. Once incorporated, the fresh veggies and herbs worked their magic. Although I appreciate plenty of meat included with the noodles and veg, the tripe and tendon were very roughly cut into much larger pieces than I’ve ever seen before. Also, some portions of tendon were so tough I couldn’t eat them. The other meats were fine, so perhaps a little more precision with the knife and attention to the cooking technique would help. This meal had some issues, but I’d return to try their good-looking pork banh mi sandwich and another cabbage salad. Though I don’t normally think of salads as comfort food, those at Viet Phở could be our new favorite thing.

The food is very fresh and delicious. Portion size and price is pretty comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Service was mediocre but nothing terrible, it was a young girl and she was pretty busy waiting on all the tables. Later the owner came out and stopped by all the tables to see how everything was. If you pay by debit/credit they do charge a $ 0.50 surcharge. They offer a pretty wide variety of dishes and appetizers. We will definitely be returning to try out some other items.

WOW! Really fresh quality food and super friendly owner! We ordered the tofu banh mi, tofu veggie phở, tofu fried rice and a Thai tea boba. The banh mi was amazing! Probably the best sandwich I have ever had. Loved the fresh veggies through out all of the dishes we ordered. The Thai tea boba was very sweet and delicious. Made for a nice treat after our meal. The owner was also very kind and explained menu items to us as well as customizing orders. Really great food and service! Will be back!

The menu says«the best duck soup» and that’s no lie! My boyfriend enjoyed the duck soup and I had the green papaya salad with pork and shrimp. The waiter was smart and brought a small bowl so I could share in the duck soup. We split an order of spring rolls. So many layers of flavor! We will definitely be back!
