Bartell Drugs

While convienent … The pharmacy is HORRIBLE. Never fast. Always takes way longer than they quote. No sense of urgency. Been charged wrong amounts (full amount vs insurance amount) and didn’t realize it until I got home … Super frustrating.

Like most of the other reviews here, my issue is with the pharmacy. Every time I go there is a long line and no sense of urgency. I’ve tried going through the drive through and waited 10 minutes to even be acknowledged. I had a prescription faxed in and waited two hours before going in. They looked at me like I was nuts for expecting it to be ready at that point. I had to go back an hour later. Lesson learned. Next prescription I dropped off and waited SEVEN hours to go back. They needed some other authorization from my doctor before my insurance would pay it. A courtesy call would have been nice to let me know not to come back. Here I am four days later still waiting for it to get hashed out. I’m having to constantly call and check because they could not care less if I do or do not get the medication I need to function. This will be the LAST prescription I fill there. They may be the only thing convenient in the Highlands but I’ll drive somewhere else to get even mediocre service.

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with. Immediately after having surgery on a broken leg, my regular pharmacy was out of the prescription I needed for a pain medication. First they refused to fill my prescription because it was a large quantity and I had never been there. Then told me they couldn’t get ahold of my dr (they called the clinic after hours and not the hospital I had just come from to confirm my story. After showing them my broken leg, hospital arm band and discharge papers they reluctantly filled my prescription. We have had interactions with 3 separate employees here that are super unhelpful and have TERRIBLE attitudes. Never in my life have I been made to feel like a pill-​seeking junkie. Worst customer service EVER. Disgraceful.

they are terrible. Each time I use them — there is an issue. They call and tell me the prescription is ready and then it’s not. They call and tell me my meds are ready and then I get there and they don’t have it all and they say they need to order it. The staff is very unhelpful and not friendly at all.

I wish I could rate the store separate from the pharmacy. Store staff is always very friendly and helpful, but the pharmacy staff have attitudes. Bad attitudes. After my first bad experience I said I would not go back but my doctor’s office forgot to change my pharmacy information and sent it to Bartells rather than Walgreens. Since I needed the medication quickly I picked it up from Bartell. What a mistake. It is too complicated to go into the reason but if you’re interested in bad attitudes go see them. I will never go to the pharmacy again

It’s like a Longs Drugs before the pharmaceutical industry destroyed local drug stores that tried to maintain independence. I don’t know if this is a part of their financial conglomerates, but it looks very home-​towny and seemed pretty cool.

Every time I go there they are busy. There can be 5 people in line with only 1 cashier and 4 people in the back working but whenever a car pulls up someone else goes and helps the drive thru. Ridiculous. No acknowledgement that the person in front needs help! Horrible horrible team work.

I have tried emailing Bartells directly with my issues with their pharmacy service but have not heard back. The store seems fine but their pharmacy is the most inadequate operation I have ever come across. I wish they were good because I really want to support local business.
Unfortunately every time we go to pick up a prescription it is a really long wait (today it was 20 minutes) and more often than not there is a prescription missing (today 1 was missing we were told when we called, it was because it was filled 2 hrs after the others so was in another bag and they missed it, even though they were called in at the same time).
I am afraid we will be moving our business elsewhere.

I bought my 1^st bottle of generic NyQuil at Target (huge mistake) & felt like a felon for buying it as they had to scan my drivers license for me to purchase. Fast forward three days, I’m still sick so I go to Bartell’s for my 2^nd bottle of generic NyQuil & VOILA! No ID required or scanned! YEA! When you feel like $hit, who wants to go through that? Thank you Bartell’s for allowing me to get on my way to better health!

These guys sell packing tape cheaper than any store I’ve come across. And they also sell Big Red — a drink I thought I could only get in Texas. They also have purple hair dye, which I thought was just the coolest.
Basically, big store with great selection and great prices.

Bartell sells milk for $ 1.79.
I drink milk like a baby cow.
Therefore, I get all my milk at Bartell and don’t spend an arm and a leg doing so. Yay!
When it comes to their pharmacy it is the standard waiting in line for seemingly eternity sort of deal, but the pharmacists/​employees working there are all very nice and once it is your turn it doesn’t take too long to get what you came for.
The store is always clean, not too busy, and the people who work there all seem friendly enough. One cashier even went outside to give my dog some water while I was waiting for my Rx! That lady is awesome.
This local one next to me also has a big selection of Rimmel makeup which I like, and they also carry my hair dye which is also sort of hard to come by so it makes for one happy Kate! Glad to have these guys down the corner when I need them.
