I’ve only been here twice and each time I’ve gone here always ordering 2 chicken teriyaki dishes, 1 to go and 1 to eat in, it’s like I’m a bother to them. On the other hand, the white couple at the other tables seem to get the friendly service. I’m Asian. I rarely have this happen, but it’s such a weird feeling. Location/convenience and familiarity with the«Ginger» Teriyaki brand(also one in Auburn/Lakeland Hills) was the only reason I stopped by. After 2 times of the poor service however, I’ve decided it’s not for me. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Location is great as its in the hub of downtown Renton next to the transit station. I ordered the«combination» fried rice and spicy chicken teriyaki. Ok. Here we go. Combination Fried rice — horrible. Or rather, it was horawful = horrible and awful. Don’t get me wrong. The service was okay and the shop is nice. But the food was not good. The portions were quite small which was okay but here’s what was in the combination rice: rice, cubed carrots, peas, bits of eggs, chopped up ham(the sliced kind from the grocery store) bits of beef, and tiny little shrimp. It was all combined and fried up with grease, salt, pepper and soy sauce. I’m Asian. I know this stuff. The spicy chicken teriyaki tasted like boiled chicken with bottles sauce slathered on top. I won’t be going there again.

Get your teriyaki in renton here. All other places are effin bull essss. They serve the best quality food and have the best customer service…(btw, I am a bartender and customer service is the most important thing when you serve anything that is consumed). Don’t go anywhere else for teriyaki, and tip well here. They are keepers in this hood. Don’t want to start turf wars but this is my hood and they r part of it

kind of new to the area so I rely on ratings to try some places out. had a craving for some teriyaki so I found this place since it had such a high rating. before ordering I read a few reviews and liked what I saw so I thought I’d try it out. first let me start off by saying the parking lot for this business is shared with the neighboring business and it is very small and compact. the Parkin lot was very packed at about 12:30 in the afternoon, which I thought would of been a good sign. but come to find out that the restaurant was empty with only one customer eating. I ordered spicy teriyaki with brown rice. my food was finished by the time I got there so the food is fast. the salad that I received on the side was just nasty. tasted like it has been sitting inside the fridge for quite some time and was soft and no crunch, almost like it was about to go bad. the teriyaki sauce has nothing special about it. just a typical«white-washed“teriyaki spot.(keep in mind that this is my first time eating here, but probably my last) the teriyaki sauce is runny and super sweet, so anything but traditional.

I’m particular about chicken teriyaki, and I like theirs. I like chicken teriyaki that doesn’t have skin on it, so if you’re like me, you’ll like this place. It’s tasty and they don’t overdo it on the rice, they give a perfect portion. I always get the chicken teriyaki and gyoza combo and their gyozas are just as good. Also, it comes with a small salad, which is crisp and fresh. They give you some dressing to go with it, but it is not as tasty as other places’ dressing I have had.

About 10 years ago when I worked down town Renton, this was our go-to Teriyaki joint. It rocked. Ive been recently and the food isnt so great, the staff isnt so nice, and the ambiance is lacking.

Awesome spicy chicken Teriyaki! Best Teriyaki in Renton! I’ve been looking for a good Teriyaki place here in Renton for quite some time. I had pretty much given up, until I found these Unilocal reviews. I went and tried it out as soon as I read the reviews and I was completely satisfied! The restaurant was clean, the people were friendly and the service was fast. My spicy chicken Teriyaki was delicious! I can’t wait to go back and have some more. :)

After much talking up this place from a family member, I decided to give it a go. Prices can be a bit higher compared to other teriyaki houses, but this one serves up chinese egg soup! Interesting to be in a Japanese teriyaki house that serves up Chinese food =D presented by Korean owners. Great cross cultured mix =D Overall, this place has good quality food and okay service. It appears it is well liked by the weekday lunch crowd because there is a nice stream of take away and eat in customers. Location is convenient in the downtown Renton area nestled among restaurants and the piazza across the street! Private parking is a nice option too.

This is my favorite teriyaki joint in the Renton/Kent area. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The chicken is moist, very good teriyaki sauce and they have the best egg rolls ever. If you get the 3 piece egg roll it could possibly fill you up.

Mouth watering Teriyaki sauce! Besides the sauce this place is just your average teriyaki joint in a mini strip mall.

I haven eaten at Ginger’s since I went to Renton High School, I have always been satisfied when I come here. I am a teriyaki fanatic, and granted they are standard fare compared to some places. But if you want yummy teriyaki with great service I highly recommend this place.

I went there before a little before pm to get a togo order. They were shut down even though they say they are open until 9pm. I understand the not«eating in part», but I find this practice not customer friendly. I worked retail before. If you’re open until 9, you’re open until 9. It’s like the current, we don’t take reservations phenomena… why do we go to places that have a 30 to 45 minute wait and treat their customers like that. I’m spending my money somewhere else.

This is the best Teriyaki place in Renton. I tried this place for the first time about 3 years ago and used to come in and eat but now I just call ahead and order and the food is ready in like 5 – 10 minutes. I love the food because the chicken is grilled and the salad has the most amazing dressing. I bring it back to my office and the smell makes everyone jealous. Give them a try, you will be glad you did.

They had a change of ownership since the last time I came here. Inside was redone with new & different paint and décor. Alot more colorful for sure. Nice, though. I like it. Still korean, although I think the previous staff were all korean and didn’t have any mexican labor. The food didn’t suffer, there’s a paper on the wall describing brown rice benefits, and they usually have their laptop on a table in the back. I miss the old staff, but this ain’t bad.

Ginger Teriyaki is one of my favorite places for lunch. There’s nothing on the menu that I haven’t liked so far, from the yakisoba to the teriyaki to the fried rolls. Delectable! The servings are perfect, the service is great and smiling, and the interior is simple and casual. Not a fancy place to eat, so if you’re looking for a nice dressy place, you should try somewhere else. But this is a great family-friendly place, and the foods up before your stomach can start growling over the amazing smells inside.

I’ll keep this update short. Ginger Teriyaki continues to offer good quality food at a good price.
