Happy at the Bay Teriyaki

This is the best Teriyaki place around. I am seriously addicted to the fried rice right now. They have a great variety and good combos.
The staff are very friendly and the food is ready quickly.
The map for this business is incorrect. The address and phone number are correct, but this location is in downtown Renton next to the Safeway on Rainier — not between Taylor and Logan near Benson).

My goto for teryaki in downtown renton. Also large selection of Chinese food. Around lunch it can get crowded with the high school being across the street.

Just moving to Renton from Seattle– I was on the hunt for a new teriyaki spot. Found it! The service is sloooow, so I would call ahead with your order– we waited over 20 minutes for our takeout order (2 entrees and a couple eggrolls), but good things come to those who wait. Everything was so good! Perfectly cooked rice and tender meat. The teriyaki sauce is a little watery, but that would be my only complaint.

Came here for a quick ish lunch with the bf. The bf met me here and he had already ordered since he knew I was short on time. I ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch special that comes with a bomb salad (their dressing is great) and two scoops of white rice. They do offer brown rice, but the bf forgot to get that for me. It’s ok though bc I think they charge north of $ 1.5 for it (which I don’t like paying for in places like this). Teriyaki sauce is liquidy but good flavor. The chicken was so dry, I did not like it at all! But I was hungry and it was lunch so I ate it. The bf got the beef and I think the beef tasted better. I like a little bit of char on my meat and it’s tricky bc chicken gets dried out much easier than beef imo. This place is fine, just close to work for me. There’s a lot of people who come in, order, and leave. We dined in here. We were the only people dining here! haha When I left, I felt like the area is a bit unsafe. Luckily, I was with the bf! I probably won’t be returning though. Too inconvenient to drive here from work for me with all the construction esp going on.

I paid almost $ 20 for fried rice with beef! Not going back again !! I can get twice the Amt. anywhere else!

This place is great for teriyaki in Renton. It’s always good and their salad dressing is on point. They’re always very nice too.

Really good chicken teriyaki, I’ve been coming here since 2005. The salad dressing is also very good. Now I come here with my daughters and they love it to. It’s not a big place, it has 10 tables but is pretty clean.

Best beef teriyaki in the area. Plan to come back to check our their chicken teriyaki and egg rolls. Prices are what you’d expect from a teriyaki place. The wait is decent, not too long. Keep it up Happy at the Bay!

The best teriyaki in Renton! It’s close to my work so I come here a lot for lunch. They are always busy and the food is freshly made and brought to your table quickly.
I always get the bento box. I like the variety and it’s always tasty. The teriyaki chicken is made in a delicious sauce and the California rolls are perfect. I love their salad dressing too.
I highly recommend this place!

This is the best fried rice in town. I go here everyday to get beef fried rice with no veggies. They deserve an award for their food. Nothing much to complain about just small things but the food is delirious! I love it!

I used to go here all the time when I was in high school & I seen that the reviews here are still pretty good, so I decided to try here again. I called in on my lunch for the chicken teriyaki with potstickers & when I got there in about 10 minutes, the food was ready to go! I can definitely say it was sooo good! The teriyaki sauce that they use is perfect! The only downfall I’d give is that I had a decent amount of dry, over-​cooked chicken in my meal. I still devoured it though! The potstickers were good too, although it’s kinda hard to ruin that.
I’ll be sure to give this place another chance. They give a good amount of food too so that’s a plus. If anyone wants to join me, let me know!

I love this place. It’s my favorite Teriyaki joint. Period. Their food is just so good. Their fried rice is my favorite, along with the chicken teriyaki & short rib combo. The Chinese is A-​OK, but they keep the spicy dishes very spicy, which is a big plus for me. The décor isn’t the greatest, but the plating is nice and the food is bomb. I can’t recommend this place enough, go there, you’ll enjoy it. It’s a little pricey for a teriyaki joint, but I attribute that to their food quality.

THE TERIYAKI SPOT DURING MY HIGH SCHOOL DAYS! 8 years later and this place is still poppin’! I love this place so much! I remember coming here during lunch and every after tennis practice and we would just pig out! I love ordering their chicken fried rice with no peas and it tastes the same every time! I remember driving to this place during lunchtime at work too and I would get the bento box all the time… It’s pretty much a package deal because yo get the teriyaki with your choice of meat, salad, California rolls, etc. One of the best things about this place also is their salad dressing! I would put that in my salad and rice and usually, I would use up half of the bottle that they give us for our table.
I also love how friendly the ladies that work there are. They are always so accommodating and nice to everyone that comes in and orders food from them. That really helps because it keeps people coming back not only for the food they make but also for the good service that they get and I can definitely attest for that.
Location is so convenient as well. It’s located in Downtown Renton on the same side as Game Stop and Safeway and all these other businesses there. They can definitely handle their own out there and I cannot wait to go back and be reunited with my chicken fried rice with no peas! It has been a while since i’ve been there but I can assure myself that it’ll be the same as 8 years ago.

The food here is absolutely delicious. I love that the flavor and portion sizes are consistently good. I haven’t disliked anything that I’ve tried on their menu. They are pretty good with having phone orders accurate and ready on time. The wait for walk in orders isn’t too bad. My favorites are the beef short ribs, spicy beef teriyaki, spicy chicken teriyaki and shrimp fried rice. Oh, their salad dressing is amazing!

Great teriyaki and it’s quick. The bento box is my favorite thing to order here. The tempura is well made, and the California rolls never disappoint. I love their teriyaki sauce and salad dressing.
When they first opened up, they were all smiles but now they look like they all need a vacation. They are still polite and do a good job.
They bring your order to you if you’re dining in.
Small dining area. Sometimes it’s not kept very clean when they are busy from people’s dishes, newspapers, etc.

Not really a teriyaki joint fan but I Came here at lunch time and it was packed with all the Buisness workers near by. I only tried the tempura which were huge and very crunchy. All my coworkers say this is the best teriyaki around and so far it’s not bad.

Food was hot fresh and the customer service was great… can’t say that about most teriyaki places but this place is great will be back !

I love this place. Plenty of parking spaces around.
Their food is good and they also have sushi or Chinese plates on their menu if you want to switch it up sometimes.
My husband and I LOVE to get their 2-​person combo which is $ 19.98 plus tax. This is plenty of food for 2 people, we always have leftovers. And you can try out pretty much everything, the pot-​stickers, teriyaki chicken, short ribs, beef, etc. And they always served with a side of salad per person. The food is great!
Service is also very nice.

I love this place. The owners are very nice and know me by name on the phone and when I arrive. I call in my order and it is waiting for me when I get there. I’ve been going to HATB#15 for several years now. My favorites are the Chicken Yakisoba, the regular Chicken Teriyaki and the Happy Special. Other stuff is good too, but those are MY favorites… I also like their home made salad dressing a lot.
