Pho Mignon #2

i’ve been on a phở kick lately, and last min dinner plans, i was craving phở. so i really really wanted to grab some to go. i saw that their hours of operations was til 9PM on a sunday night. i got there around 845PM and walked in thinking great! it’s still open. but as i walked in, the girl at the counter told me that their kitchen was already cleaned and closed. i left confused as to why a business decides to close early when clearly they are still open!

I ended giving this place another chance and i will NEVER come back here again. i came in to order 1 large bowl and 1 small bowl of phở to go. i give the lady the rewards card to scan and she tells me that the system is down for that. i was like ok then how will i get my credits. she tells me you won’t. then a few seconds later, she tells me to tell them next time i come in for my credit. i asked her, so i just bring back my reciept? then i guess i must’ve stumped her b/​c she then pulls out the piece of paper that everyone is writing their card numbers on. i was baffled at the fact that she tried to pull a fast one on me. i mean if you don’t want to give your customer’s credit for their purchases then don’t participate in that program. THEN as i was waiting for my food, one of the workers walks by me and stares at me up and and down. they are so rude. i will never come back here again.

I ordered a Strawberry Piña Colada (?) from here and it was probably the worst drink I’ve ever had. It’s probably just a poor choice to buy it but $ 4 for that? I was expecting something better. Also, I ordered taro bubble tea for another $ 4 that tasted really plain. I could’ve just went to downtown Renton for bubble tea for only $ 2.75. Waste of money.

DO NOT EAT HERE! I found a bug in my phở and when I called the the server over to show her, she acknowledged the issue and took it back to the kitchen and offered to replace it. I was too freaked out to accept. After she came back from talking to the owner, she then said it was not a bug but dried onions… I’m not dumb and we both know it was a bug. I am very disappointed that they didn’t acknowledged the issue and didn’t seem concerned to fix the issue. Warning, eat at your own risk!!!

I absolutely love this place I come here all the time and love the phở! It’s amazing especially their spring roles my bf absolutely loves them and could drink the peanut sauce that comes with it haha. I always get amazing service from the owner’s wife who is there almost every time I come in and recognizes me and my bf and is so welcoming and kind it makes us feel so special! I’ve been eating phở since I was a kid and this place is definitely one of the best places for phở. Never had any issues with the food or service and would recommend this place to anyone who wants a good bowl of phở or even a bubble tea! Which are also bomb the avodurion with tapioca is my fave!

Came for lunch w my daughter. Ordered chicken phở and com thi nuong w a side of potstickers and Viet coffee.. Enjoyed the potstickers but my rice plate was just ok. I was expecting a bit more as the bbq meat was tough and pretty fatty. The restaraunt is nice and clean w dark wood tables. Staff is very friendly and provides good service. But for $ 26 lunch, I want more. Thus the 3 star rating.

Our go to place near home but definitely not our favorite because homemade phở is always the bestest! Service here is always prompt and friendly. They have a pretty extensive menu, including other noodles and rice dishes, but so far we’ve only ordered the Phở Dac Biet and some fruit teas. Maybe we’ll try other dishes one day :)

I went to this place in a whim for a banh mi sandwich. I read the reviews and it said the shredded chicken was good…
Nope. I guess I’m just comparing it to all the other tasty banh mi I’ve had in the ID, Rainier, and MLK. First off, the bread was stale which kinda bummed me out. The meat… Definitely not what I was expecting. It was like fried chicken with some tonkatsu sauce.
I will just make an extra trip to get a tasty banh mi. OH! It’s like $ 4.50!!! Banh mi are only about $ 3… Bahhhh you live and learn.

i’m giving this a three star rating based on experience and proportions. Dined here a few weeks ago. we ordered grilled pork with salad, fresh rolls, and two noodle soups.
My grilled pork entrée arrived. I was not pleased with the proportions. My rice was bigger than the amount of pork which was only a few slices. My salad was the simplest form ever: a few slices of small tomatoes and five sticks of pickled daikons and carrots. The other two entrees were decent sized and satisfying for rest of my party. Perhaps they were low on their grilled pork since it was towards end of business day, but I basically paid for my big mound of rice.
Service was ok. the lady came to check on us one or twice. It was not busy for a Saturday evening between 630 – 745.
I’ll give this place a second chance when the opportunity arises.

Phở is like fine wine. If you broth is off by just a little bit your Phở sommeliers will sniff it out real fast! I thought it was bit on the sweet side and the star anise was over powering.
A good bowl of phở has to have great broth. A good noodle to beef ratio. If I’m out of meat before noodles, that’s a lacking bowl. And the right herbs and veggies to give it that cherry on top finish.
So far Phở Hoa, even though its a huge chain is still my favorite.

This is generally my favorite place to grab a bowl of phở with my gf, but this last visit left me very disappointed. We visit this location almost every week, we know what we like and what to expect.
So, we know when we get a bad dish. I didn’t want to say anything, but this time the soups taste was so poor, I had to complain. What happened next was very surprising to me.
The waitress, who normally is very polite, actually sought to dispute my complaint. When I told her the food was bad, she had the nerve to tell ME that it was good, and there was nothing wrong with it.
Umm… Excuse me?
No, I know how it’s supposed to taste, I was just here a few days ago, and this was wrong. It wasn’t even to its normal temperature. It was lukewarm when we got it. Even the tripe had a bizarre flavor to it! I love tripe!
So to tell me that it’s good, you must be kidding.
Anyway, she countinued to argue with me about it then proceeded to go «check in the kitchen». I don’t know what difference that was supposed to make.
Afterwards she came to our table and gave us some lecture about how if we have a problem with the food we’re supposed to tell her as soon as we try it. Umm, first of all we pretty much did. Second of all, back off. We didn’t do anything wrong, we probably only ate about ¹⁄₃^rd of one bowl of soup before we just gave up.
She said she would void it this time but if there was an issue next time she would not void anything. I found that to be rude, and unnecessary.
We didn’t go there for a free meal, we went there for good food, and they let us down.
Especially for how often we go there, I was offended by how we were treated.
Not sure we’ll be returning.

3 stars max from me. The place is very very clean (not to stereotype but this is unusual at MOST phở places) which was a pleasant surprise. We had phở and spring rolls — I thought pricing was about average but the food was mediocre or less. I do admit I am picky about my broth since I eat phở with my wife was is from Vietnam and has family here who eats it all the time. Like most places that I rate low for phở, I found the phở broth a bit watery and not as rich and full of flavor as I prefer.
Right after we got our food, we had an emergency and my wife had to go home to check on something and then come back. She was gone for about 20 minutes and the owner walked out and offered to re heat the phở when she returned which I thought was a very nice gesture. Overall the waitress and owner were friendly and service was good. Unfortunately since I rely on taste and not service when in the mood for phở I don’t plan on returning.

This is the best phở in Renton by far. I have gone here a number of times now and their phở is always consistent. It comes out extremely hot which I love and it’s flavorful and not too sweet. I want to try one of their other dishes next time I go in to see if their food is as good as the phở. They have a huge menu and usually big menus make me nervous because the food quality gets compromised so I’m curious to see! I ordered the tried tofu today and it was very good! I was happy ^.^
I will be coming back to try more!

The service is always great and the veggie phở is awesome. The broth is so flavorful yet light.

A gloomy day, rain, feeling under the weather, or need a cure for recovery phở always comes to mind.
My girlfriend and I always find trouble with finding placed to eat, we intentionally were on our way to a restaurant and came across this place so we were willing to try this out.
We were welcomed, it didn’t look busy due to it being 10 in the morning but the environment was updated and clean unlike other phở restaurants.
Gave it 4 out 5 stars because the broth was a little bland. Didn’t have much taste to it, like the ratio had more water than taste/​seasoning… Other than that, sides were fresh (bean sprouts, lime, jalapeños, etc.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon with some friends. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in by a very polite an friendly staff member. The atmosphere wasn’t like the «typical» Phở places that I dine at in Hawaii. It was very nice and modern. Our server came over and greeted us as soon as we were seated.
I usually just get plain Phở (pretty much soup, noodles, thinly sliced meat, and basil) every time I go to a Phở place… but since there were so many things on the menu that looked good I decided to try something different. I had the grilled lemongrass chicken and egg rolls with vermicelli noodles and the blended vietnamese iced coffee. The food was great and the beverage was so refreshing!
Keep in mind my usual Phở place is Bale in Mililani so if you’re really into Phở you may not agree with my rating of their food. But I would definitely dine here again!

If you decide to write off this place as another typical strip mall phở type place, you would be making a big mistake.
Surprised would be how I’d describe how I felt when I first took in the interior. It is refreshingly nice and classy. Definitely not, (as a I alluded to), typical for a phở place and more like a nice restaurant.
My first experience there only got better when I discovered how friendly and accommodating the staff was there. It was empty, (to be fair) but a perfect day for phở: raining and gray.
But the gentleman working there was conversational about both their offerings and food in general. I went with their specialty: phở with filet mignon in it and papaya salad with beef in it, inside of the shrimp it typically comes with.
He was completely understanding of my preference for omitting the noodles and even threw in some vegetables insteade, also pretty atypical of other phở places. The only other phở place that actually has a «low carb» option, for example is Papaya.
The papaya salad was mouth watering. Intense complex flavor profile with pleasing textures, it was simply a grand slam. I enjoyed it so much I got it again the next day. I also got the tamarind wings and they were also delicious and mouth watering.
All in all, an amazing find for the area with class and well executed Vietnamese fare. The phở was ok, not the best I’ve ever had. A couple better examples I could think of would be Phở World and Monsoon East. To be fair, I did get it take out and reheated it at home. Offering filet as an option is a home run, however; delicious tender meat butter and a refreshing twist from the norm.
I plan to go back often and recommend you do the same. If their other offerings like banh mi, rice dishes, etc. are as good as what I’ve had, their stock will only increase.

I’m lucky to have Phở Mignon #1 2 blocks from work and Mignon #2 couple minute from home.
The second location is actually clean and trendy. Service is good and the foods are awesome.

This is a sweet broth. I wasn’t sure if it was the mouthwash I rinsed with before I started eating, but i’m pretty sure it was the phở broth.
I’m not going to say much about the service. Every new Vietnamese restaurant seems to struggle with good quality service. Why? I don’t know, but it does.
I give the service a 2 stars, even with 2 people in the restaurant there was a problem with hospitality.
But back to the phở. It is good here. The dense richness of the broth is a good sign that the broth has been stewing for a very long time. Light, oily phở is just a sign of too much MSG and bullion to enhance a flavor which should take hours to cook.
I ordered the usual Dac Biet/​combination and it was full of meat, noodles and the rest of the cow.
I like this place and would be happy to come here. Hopefully the service changes, but then again, you can leave a 5 percent tip and it’s nothing they would be surprised about.
