Public Storage

I will start off with when we first moved in the staff was very pleasant to deal with and still are. The problem with renting here is the owners. There has been 3 break-​ins since Nov. 30, 2015 to one building with about 40 units and every one of them has been broken into (including ours), some more than once. The owners will not take the extra steps to put up security cameras to monitor the doors or alarms. Needless to say we will never do business with them again or Public Storage.

Linda was very professional & courteous. I’m a bit concerned about security because many of the units do not have security cameras.

We rented a unit at the 2233 E valley road location and the manager was very kind and friendly. I felt comfortable leaving my things there. Until two weeks later I got a phone call from the fill in customer service rep asking if I had been there the night before and happened to forget to close and lock it. You can imagine my dismay. We arrived and our lock had been broken with a grinder, the door was not able to be opened or closed. The customer service rep had to call someone to come fix the door and then had to go get her lunch. We waited a good three hours before the door company came and after working with it for a couple hours they were unable to fix the door. He asked the customer service rep to call her district manager to see about getting another unit for us to put our things in until they fixed the door. She was told no. The man who fixed the door then called and was able to get us another unit temporarily. After we had moved our things and were on our way out my boyfriend noticed that the gate was not opening or closing only to discover that the bearings on the wheels of the gate were completely worn through. The gate could be picked up and lifted. No code necessary. Easy thieving.
The door was eventually fixed. We discovered what all was taken. It broke my heart. Things of sentimental value were taken as well as things of value. They took my dogs shirts! I am convinced it was an inside job. When we emptied the unit the manager did not make eye contact with us and wouldn’t even look in my direction. Compared to when we came in and she was our best friend.
I highly advice people to NOT use this location.

DO NOT RENT HERE! I would give negative stars if I could. My unit was broken into along with 4 others within two weeks in the same corridor. The interior doors especially are cheap, and really easy for someone to bust open. To make matters worse the attendant was going to leave my unit unsecured all night and not have it secured until the next day when someone came to fix the doors. Unacceptable. There is also no surveillance cameras within the buildings.
This was the worst experience I have ever had storing my belongings in any public storage. It is not worth the money saved to go to this place. Lesson learned.

If I could go lower in stars I would. I had a unit here for over one year and thought my belongings and memories were safe. I went to my unit over the winter holidays to find I was robbed. To get to my unit you had to go through a secured gate and a secured door to my unit with a round recommended lock. I found a cheap/​fake combo lock on my door and once opened almost everything of value had been stolen. When I called the manager to report what happened I was told it was the lock I had moved in with and put on the defensive. No apologies for what had happened. Instead I was made to feel it was my fault. I believe this was a inside job. I attempted to contact the corporate office and there was no returned reply. I am disgusted by this company and will never trust them again. I strongly urge all to avoid this place!

Good Experience Overall. The front desk attendant was a little crass and rude but overall helpful and knowledgeable. The price was the best here for the area of all the storage places I looked at. Only gets three stars due to the mediocre customer service and there is a light switch in the hallway where I have my unit that doesn’t work. They know it doesn’t work but I guess they are just not gonna fix it either. It is pretty annoying that I have to go though a different door to turn on the light because my unit is right next to the door with the light switch that doesn’t work. Other than that no complaints about this place.
