Service was good. Place is old and crusty pretty unique if you like local flavor and into oldie stuff. Extensive wine selection. Downside is that even if you buy from the rack there is a 5 dollar corkage fee to your table. I ordered a off the menu broth/soup and it took 20 minutes. Pretty ridiculous on that end

This is by far one of our favorite spots as a family to go to a nice dinner. Great atmosphere, service, and food.

I’m not quite sure what to think of this place. On one hand, I’ve heard from many that the food and the service here are incredible. The reviews on this page seem to indicate the same. However, the oddest thing happened yesterday evening when I visited, which leads me to wonder if my experience was merely an aberration. When I arrived and entered the restaurant, no one said hello. After about five minutes or so, a woman asked how many of us would be dining with them. After I stated the number of people, the woman wandered off and never returned. I stood with my party for about fifteen minutes, awaiting the woman’s return before we all left. Should I return?

I LOVE their macaroni and cheese! It is the best I’ve ever had and they let you add anything you want such as bacon, jalapeños, salmon, etc. cute little restaurant and service is good.

My favorite restaurant in Renton. It is so cute and definitely a hidden gem. They have rooms filled with wines from around the world and the food is amazing. Love it!

This place is awesome !!! I really like the ambiance; it’s a freakin house for goodness sakes!!! I feel really bad for writing this review so far after visiting this gem, but better late than never. I ended up at the red house after some friends of the girl friend suggest led we go there for dinner. We ended up siting on the patio which is quaint and comfortable. Besides the weird couple eying our table the entire night, I really enjoyed sitting out there. There are a few dishes that i just have to eat when I see them on menu, and the red house had them both… steak frites and apple pie /cobbler. Once it was seen, I put the order in with a quickness. The steak frites was bomb, . The steak was cooked beautifully, a little more red for me would have been fine but who cares !!! The taste was there. The only thing that could have been better would have been a nice glass of red, but of course i forgot my ID. The fries were nice and crispy and they topped it all off with some caramelized onions, mushrooms and some Au jus. Man!!! I added some bernaise sauce or tartar(forgot which one) and that just knocked me out. Wow!!! After that, I tried the apple crumble with vanilla ice cream. Not too sweet, fresh apples, beautiful crumble with a little crunch to it … Dayuuuummm! This place makes me happy. Happy like I live in California and I already planned to be eat there in three weeks when I’m in town for Christmas . Bravo red house, bravo

Took my wife here for her Birthday. Oh my god. What a nice place. Feels real homey. Tried the crabs cakes. Totally awesome. Then I had the Mac and cheese. The best m/c I ever had. My wife had steak frites. Very tender and lots of flavor. Juicy mushrooms and great fries. The waitress made us feel right at home. everyone was very friendly. Tons of wine and beer selection. We will be coming back here for dinner

This place is happening. If you ever go for dinner at night, it is packed to the wall with people, for good reasons. The food is wonderful, full of tasty spices. If you don’t believe me, just try their paella and pastry puff. It is so good, it will make your head spin. The only problem I have with this place is that it is so small and crowded that ai felt like a Sardine in a can. Otherwise, this place would easily earn a five star.

Reservations are highly recommended… We went on a Wednesday at 6:30PM and the place was packed, so much they actually turned two groups away while we were waiting for our table. The place is literally a house converted to a restaurant. Simple décor, simple wooden tables and chairs. Food is absolutely fantastic. The steak friase is excellent, fries are fried perfectly and steak was tender and lightly seasoned so you could taste the meat. Desserts are made fresh daily so they change… I had the passion fruit cheesecake… Yum!!! My only complaint was the wait… It took almost 10 minutes to get straws for the water and then 55 minutes from ordering to receiving the food… The wait for dessert was another 20 minutes… Overall about two hours to have dinner.

This is a house that’s converted into a restaurant. With that said, space is limited and I highly recommend you to make reservations. I went on a Wednesday night and it was packed! They had an event that took all the space upstairs so we had to sit outside on the patio. Patio wasn’t too bad, they handed up blankets to keep us warm. For appetizers we had hummus with pita, baked goat cheese(they brought it to us by accident), and Alpine cheese pie. All 3 were great but my favorite would be the Alpine cheese pie. The puff pastry on too of the 3 cheeses with apricot chutney was delicious! For my entrée I had the Red House Paella. My friends and I joked about me disliking veggies. Our server took that into considerations and my paella came out without peas(YAY!) The portions were decent and it had good flavors. I recommend this dish to all the paella fans. Our server recommended the apple crisp for our dessert, huge portion. The 4 of us were able to share it! As for wine, our server recommended New Age because it was the closest to a Moscato. I think it tastes better than Moscato because it’s less sweet.

Red House is an adorable little house tucked away in Renton waiting to be found. The service was great. Very helpful and friendly; everything that service is supposed to be. I found the food to be hit-and-miss. The Pomme Frites were very«meh.» Regular, everyday store-bought-style fries with some truffle oil on them. You get 1 little container of aioli(which is average in flavour and doesn’t come close to being enough in quantity) and then you’re stuck with regular, everyday store-bought-style ketchup. They were super limp and that always makes me sad. The roasted mushrooms were alright. I found them to be much, much better without the feta. They were really good paired with the mac & cheese. Speaking of mac & cheese… omg this mac & cheese is amazing. This isn’t just any regular everyday mac & cheese, my friends, they make theirs with smoked Gouda and several other complimenting cheeses. Absolutely amazing! It was something else and it’s the reason I’m willing to go back to try some other items off the menu as well.

This place is a cute little spot tucked away in downtown Renton. The food is tasty and the wine and beer list is impressive, if not a little pricey for the off-the-beaten-path location. I would recommend this place for a nice lunch, dinner out or evening drinks on the patio. It can get busy in that they have pretty limited seating, and if you have a group larger than 4 you’ll definitely want to call in advance.

A few coworkers and I decided to check this place out after Unilocaling places close to our hotel, and this turned out to be far better than expected! Food, service, and ambience were all spot on, and for someone new to Renton, I would say I would definitely bring friends here to check it out together. For the entrees, the three of us got the lobster ravioli, chicken dish, and steak — my b, should’ve written down the exact names D: but they’re all there in the entrees section! Anyway, they were all served in generous portions and presented nicely, so it was hard not to «whoa» when the waiter brought them out. Each were huge hits, so you can’t really go too wrong with their entrée section. Even though we were stuffed we still had to ask about their dessert selection today, and the waiter did a beautiful job describing each candidate(and there were like 7 that he expertly rattled off). We flipped a coin to split either the chocolate ganache torte or the apple crisp, and fate decided it would be the crisp. And HALLELUJAH because that apple crisp was probably the best crisp I’ve ever had, and with the scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, it was mmMMMM good like I-can’t-even good. I’m also a huge sucker for any pairing of something warm with ice cream, so this really hit the spot. As for service, the waiter noticed we were getting a little cold from being out on the patio, so he offered to bring us blankets! And instantly we were sold on the service. Haha. It also added onto the home-y ambience that the place had already, and everything was just so cozy and lovely. The boss lady also came out to chat with us as she gathered the remaining dishes, not minding that we were still there a little after their closing time. She was super chill and wasn’t doing the whole butter-you-up-for-a-good-review kind of business, so we ended our night with some nice conversation. All in all, a great experience.

The ambiance here is really quant and cute. It is in an actual house in a mostly residential area, such a unique experience for renton. The food: we go mussels with some bread. The bread was grilled rather than baked, so good for dipping. We asked for more bread to dip in the mussel wine sauce. The Portuguese seafood stew had so much seafood, clams, salmond, scallops, they didn’t skimp out at all. The salad was simple beets with spinach, i would opt for the beets apitizer next time since the spinach wasn’t spectacular. I love beets ! Drinks: ample wine and beer options. Parking: suppppper easy and free. They’re in a residential area but they have a parking lot right in front. Overall awesome experience :)

Have been wanting to come to this place for awhile, I have driven past it for months and finally decided today to give it a shot. First impressions walking in were very quaint and has a variety of wines from the Pacific Northwest, Italy, and France. The décor was very homey and tables were painted and cute. The menu had a variety of options to choose from. I had a hard time deciding what exactly I wanted so I too a referral from our waitress. The Salmon BLT. It was amazing. The bread had been grilled and had a smokey taste. The bacon was crispy. Yum. I will come back here to try their dinner menu. The only downside was it was a little cold in there with the one pane windows non central heating. My toes were frozen.

This place is one of the best wine bars around and their menu for food is fabulous. I’ve been here several times and always have a great experience with the servers, food and of course the Vino. Make sure you ask to try a sample of a wine you might not normally gravitate to and ENJOY!!!

A friend wanted to meet here for dinner, and although I’ve been living in Renton for several years, I hadn’t yet heard of/been to Red House. My conclusion: The Jewel of Renton! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and since you’re literally eating in a house, the environment is very intimate. The Red House would be a good spot to catch up with an old friend, go on a first date, or celebrate an anniversary. The Food? Flavorful dishes with large portions, and decent prices. How can you go wrong? I ordered the lasagna my last visit and it was very hearty. I’d definitely go back to have it again.

This place restaurant is absolutely amazing. My husband and I stumbled across this place by chance. The atmosphere is very calming. I like that fact the it’s open yet close nit. My husband and I are both vegetarian and they have a pretty good selection for vegetarians. We had the humus and let me tell you… It was the best humus I’ve ever had in my life. It was so creamy and rich with flavor we almost wanted to order another serving. My husband had a tomato mozzarella sandwich with a house made potato soup. The soup was bland but the sandwich was delicious. You could taste even the extra virgin olive oil that used on the bread. I had a pear salad w/Gorgonzola cheese and it was so flavorful. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful as well. He didn’t hound us and he was very patience. We will definitely be coming back soon.

Pretty good spot for Renton! Make reservations! Not sure if it was necessary on a weekday, but they’re on opentable so easy peasy. Food: Very generous portions. Amongst 3 girls, we ordered 1) mussels($ 13) — good! And a lot of it! 2) roasted beets($ 6) — so much of it for so cheap! 3) paella(~$ 20s) — this one was just ok, by def lots of it 4) stuffed chicken with mashed potatoes(~$ 20) 5) gelato for dessert, normal. We probably could’ve fed 4 people with what we ordered. The meal ended up being about $ 27pp w/tax and tip and leftovers. There were few other items that sounded good as well. Kinda felt like the meal was pretty cheap for the quality and quantity that you get. I would come back and try other items!
