Renton II KinderCare

I have been at Kinder care for over a year now and have seen allot of changes. The school has helped my child so much. She loves her teachers and wants to go to school everyday. I would not go to another preschool. My daughter learns so much each day. We are a very happy kindercare family!

As a parent, one of the most terrifying thoughts is your child not anywhere to be found when you think they are safe at child care. This was my experience last Friday. While I was on my way to pick up my daughter from school, where she attends YMCA after school care, the last thing on my mind was she is missing. I walked into YMCA and one of the teachers looked at me a little strange and said, «We haven’t seen her all day, but I just arrived.» Not thinking much of it, I walked in to talk to the the other teachers who said the same thing… it was 4:30 at this point which in my mind meant she had been missing for 90 minutes. I ran to her class room, lights off. The YMCA teachers helped me search after what seemed like forever, we discovered through the dismissal logs that she had gone to the KinderCare bus line. Keep in mind my daughter is 6 and this is the second day of school. When I called Kindercare I was connected with another location who told me the one by Fred Meyer in Renton off of Petrovitsky had called them and said they had a little girl there, whom they did not know. When I spoke to both facilities, neither of them had called Fairwood Elementary where they picked her up from to see if they could find out who she was. 5pm at this point, I walked into the Kindercare on Petrovitsky, I asked how something like this could happen. Olga took me into manager’s office as to not disrupt the other parents picking up their children and said my daughter had a Kindercare sticker and the bus driver had, in fact, called to say she was not on their list but Olga had told her to bring her to the facility anyways. I asked her why they wouldn’t double check with the office who she was and if she was in the correct line, like I said it was the second day of school, she wasn’t on their roster and they had never seen her before. Olga told me the office brought her up and, instead of taking 5 minutes to send someone down to verify she was in the correct place; in Olga’s words, decided to take her to the facility and they would deal with it when she got there. Olga stated she didn’t want to leave her alone at the school. They pick the kids up at 3pm, the office is still open and the teachers are all still there. 5 minutes to check in with the office would have solved this. I looked at her and said what if my daughter had a medical condition they were unaware of? They gave her a snack, and I asked them what if she had been allergic and they had to take her to the hospital with no notification to any parent and they do not know who she is… Olga’s response to me was, «Well we will not charge you for today.» I was shocked. As a mother, I believed my child had been missing and her complete disregard for their actions to the the lack of professionalism and attention to child safety, I was speechless. If there had been some remorse, a simple apology explaining what happened and that they were wrong, but she tells me she will not charge me for the day and that is to make up for taking my daughter. All I could muster to say was, please tell me where my daughter is… I grabbed my daughter and left.
I do believe there was a lot of confusion and mishaps at the school, as well, where this should have been caught but to take a child, on a bus that you have never seen, not on your log and you have no papers for is absurd, it is kidnapping. The school was never notified, my daughter was never asked her phone number either. A number was found inside her backpack and a voice mail was left but that was the extent of finding her parents.
I will be taking this further to make sure it does not EVER happen to another parent.

I attempted to contact this KinderCare location twice through their website contact form back in Feb/​March of this year. (No call back) On 4/​23, I called and spoke with the receptionist who said the admin folks were out to lunch or otherwise not available, but she would pass along my info and have one of them call me back. (No call back) On 5/​1, I called and spoke with the same receptionist, again the admin folks not available. I mentioned the trouble I had getting info and to set up a tour, that I had still not received any call backs after 3 previous attempts (⁵⁄₁ being 4^th attempt). She apologized, provided some info over the phone, and said one of the admin ladies would call me back to set up a tour. It is now 5÷25÷14 and still no call back. Needless to say, I have scratched this child care option off the list and will make sure to tell all my friends and anyone that might listen, to not use this facility simply due to the non-​existent customer service. I cannot believe they are actually in business if this is how they treat potential clients. If I could, I would not even award them this one star.
