The soup was good, I got the spicy miso soup. It was spicy but tolerable spicy and good!!! The only thing bad were the noodles were so thick! I was looking for thinner noodles. I would recommend them buying thinner noodles.

Always busy and always good. So convenient and close and love the choices. #19 is my favorite, especially when a cold is coming on.

The BEST ramen noodles in town. Been coming here for years and it’s the biggest, most delicious and filling ramen! My favorite is the Minzen Ramen!!! Cash only.

I had some reservations about coming here but I had to try it for myself. I just love ramen on cold nights and even though the Valley isn’t the best place for ramen, it sure gets cold here during the fall and winter! The Spicy Miso Ramen was rather oily for my taste so I found the Spicy Shoyu Ramen to be more tasty, albeit slightly on the salty side. If they just read the many reviews here that basically say their broth is overly salty, I think they could easily fix that and everyone would be soooo much happier. Aside from the salty broth, I found the ramen to be pretty decent, but broth being so important everything else seemed to drown out a bit due to the saltiness. It’s cash only, and in case you couldn’t tell by the many reviews here or the sign or their menu, the server will let you know when you place your order. I find it dampens the experience slightly, sort of this undertone that says, «You better have cold hard cash to pay,» and maybe, just maybe, they should consider accepting debit cards and credit cards, even if they require a minimum amount. Good grief, I’ve charged less than $ 1 on my debit and credit cards before. Atmosphere-wise, rather standard for a Japanese restaurant, small, clean, enough seats for singles, couples, and very small groups of 4 or so. Can’t say anything stood out. Prices were cheap and seemed like everything was under $ 10 per item, so it’s an affordable option, if not the best. Not my favorite nor second favorite place for ramen in the Valley, so I don’t know how likely it is that I’ll be back here again.

Over 5 years since my last review. Still the best in the Valley by far. Still doesn’t accept credit cards. Still waiting for them to add tonkotsu ramen to the menu. At least they are consistent. LOL. In the summertime, spicy hiyashi chuka(cold noodles) is a must.

Went here at 9pm, the place wasn’t very full… and I don’t know why! This place is a gem! Great service, prices are low, you get a lot of food and it’s delicious. Two of us came in and ordered 2 large bowls of Ramen, an order of pot stickers and a large sake. All for under $ 30 we had to take our Ramen home because there was so much food. I took one star away because it was a cash only establishment. Good thing I had cash! I think that can potentially turn people away since who carries cash anymore?! Anyway, great place, well be back.

So, I like to come here every other week. Usually by myself. I have had many of the different ramens, and have found my favorite to be Negi Ramen. I usually get it with a side of Curry Rice. Even as I think about it it makes me warm and happy. The place is not to big, and sometimes is full. But the wait is never very long. The staff is courteous, and pretty quick. They take cash only. The only downside is that parking in the stripmall lot can be challenging.

Bland, no taste and where’s the ramen. I ordered the spicy miso ramen with the fried rice and gyoza combo. Ramen had decent flavor however I took a total of 4 bites worth of actual ramen noodle. The gyozas were soggy and had a bland flavor, an almost mushy veggie taste. The fried rice was hard and had zero flavor. My coworker who ordered just fried rice is probably suffering from hypertension due to all the soy sauce he had to add. We are kind of familiar with ramen and Asian food because we are Asian as well. This place is bad and be warned its cash only! Save your time and money, go buy cup of noodles.

Cash Only!!! Spicy Shoyu Ramen($ 8.90): Decent size bowl of ramen with a good amount of noodles, however, the soup base was pretty bland for whats supposed to be a soy sauce flavored broth. I like that they added baby bok choy to the dish but they cut some of the pieces way too small and thew it in the soup! Egg was hard boiled and not a little runny =( Service was subpar. I don’t think I’ll be back.

When we discovered Nippon we went there 3 times within the same week. I’ve read a lot of reviews that say there are long wait times, but whenever I’ve gone the wait is very reasonable. Their ramen is pretty good. My favorite is the spicy shoyu ramen! Their green iced tea is SO delicious and the waitresses are very nice. They don’t bother you throughout your meal which I love. Just remembered it is cash only, so make sure you get cash before you go. It’s inexpensive and tasty. You can’t go wrong.

A absolute valley treasure! The staff is so pleasant. The variety of ramen soups keeps me returning! I don’t have an absolute favorite because the ones I have tried have all been delicious. The Wakame Ramen with seaweed, chopped chicken, cucumbers, green onions topped with sesame seeds, on chicken broth is so yummy! The Shoyu Ramen with pork, baby bok choi, bamboo shoots topped with a boiled egg is a classic. I don’t eat a lot of pork so I substitute it with chicken. The staff is accommodating! This place is always busy and remember: They only accept cash, which works for me!!! I definitely recommend this place.

Been coming here for years and still one of my favorite restaurants in the valley. My go to for the longest time was the Miso Chashu with a side of Gyoza… I’ve changed it up recently and haven’t been as happy with my choices. It’s cash only, so don’t forget, the closest ATM is up the street; but good news is it’s easy to get full here on a few bucks.

Not the best Ramen I have ever had but it’s good enough to satisfy my cravings. I enjoy the noodles and #13 is my favorite. But lets be real I’m only going here because I can’t go Downtown every time I’m craving a good real bowl of Ramen.

This place was delicious! But it gets very very busy! But the wait is totally worth it, this is the best ramen we ever had in town! I got the shio ramen and my GF got the Chashu ramen, both were delicious! Full of flavor! We also got the Chinese broccoli on the side. I’m so happy to find a ramen place so close to home instead of having to drive all the way by Santa Monica or Los Angeles, 5 stars! :)

Absolutely delicious. I love that you can find a good ramen spot with good service close to home. I’m a novice ramen consumer, so I went with the #1. The Shoyu ramen! Try stopping by after the dinner rush, especially when it’s chilly out! They don’t accept credit cards so bring cash!

Sometimes I strike out on Unilocal, and this is one of those times where I give three full-powered swings and the ball swooshes by for the umpire to call me out. I sat down to order the«Minzan» ramen, which as it turned out is yakigyoza(fried dumplings) in shoyu ramen. As I broke apart my disposable chopsticks(seriously, I wish more places would use reusable plastic or bamboo ones and spare the trees) it didn’t look so bad. I was totally wrong. The shoyu they’re using here has more than a trace of sweetness. In fact, it’s probably shoyu meant for udon broth, it is THAT sweet. The noodles are flat, colorless, and taste suspiciously like cheap soba noodles. As for the noodles themselves … this place is using triple the broth required for a helping. It’s basically a massive bowl of cheap soup that tastes like someone broke open a dozen insta-packs of udon broth, tossed the dehydrated noodles out, and microwaved the bowl with some sorry excuses for scallions. The gyoza … I can stand frozen, store-bought gyoza, I just can’t stand it when there’s no hint of garlic and it’s been frozen since the last ice age. There was no hint of steam on the bite, there was no hint of garlic. The ones tossed into the«Minzan» ramen were deep-fried and there were only four of them. The staff is all Japanese, but that means nothing for the taste here. It’s nice to be able to ask for«Oheeya»(that’s ‘iced water’ in a restaurant, literally ‘a chilled one’) and order in Japanese, but the ramen is flat out terrible. The fried rice is so unspeakably bad that I don’t even want to talk about it, or the zasai(Chinese pickles) that came out of a store-bought jar piled helplessly to the side. I thought 4⁄5 Unilocal rating would be ok, but seriously, this place served the worst bowl of ramen I’ve had in years. In fact I can’t actually remember if I’ve had a worse bowl after moving to the USA(there are some terrible, terrible places in Japan also but word spreads quite far on those). I can only recommend you find a much better place for your wallet. They take cash only by the way, which would be OK if they served a good bowl. They don’t. Oh they don’t. At all. If you were thinking about this place, just click to the next place.

My ramen was overly salty and overly oily. I ordered the Spicy Misu Ramen and was not really satisfied for the price that I paid. You can also choose to get the gyoza combination for an extra few dollars but I only got 4 pieces as opposed to what others were getting on Unilocal. So I’m not sure if I got ripped off, or whether it was worth it at all. Generally I didn’t like the taste of the broth, and the addition of the bamboo shoots gave my broth a slight pickled taste that I mostly do not like in my ramen. The noodles that they used is also not as good as other ramen places I like.

Ramen when it’s 90 degrees out — is how I roll. And I rolled over to Ramen Nippon in Reseda for my fix. Pulled into a small parking lot, for the small strip mall. I believe parking could be challenging when the other businesses are busy, but I was there on a Saturday afternoon and the only places that seemed to be open were the two restaurants. Walking in — there are tables that seat two or four, and what looks to be a community counter. It wasn’t busy so seating was immediate. Service was pretty efficient. I was asked twice, by two different servers, for my order, within three to five minutes of being seated. Refills of water were filled regularly which I opted for because this restaurant doesn’t serve green tea. You read that right — NOHOTGREENTEA. Anyway, food wasn’t bad. Gyoza and the Chasu Ramen is what I went with. Gyoza was decent but I found the Ramen noodles to be somewhat elastic. Sort of like if you were to chew on them, there would be a squeak. For me, the broth was a little starchy and on the bland side. Seasoning helped remedy that though. Overall opinion of the food — was meh to ok. I think the not quite warm feelings I have for Ramen Nippon was that I didn’t get to enjoy hot tea with my Ramen. I always have hot green tea because it helps to fill me up so I don’t eat so much. By the way — it’s CASHONLY too. As I’m in the Valley more often these days — I’ll probably try other Ramen joints before I go back.

CASHONLY. There’s a big sign that says that, including in big letters on the front of the menu. There are signs in the restaurant that say CASHONLY. Oh yeah, and before they greet your or take your order they remind you for the 800th fucking time that it’s CASHONLY. HAVE I MENTIONEDIT’S CASHFUCKINGONLY?! The restaurant itself is like stepping into the 90s. Colored in pink pastel. I’m sure whoever designed the place is still wearing shoulder pads in their blazer. The ramen is boring. No hot tea. Tea out of a can.(Wtf) The chasu is tough and overcooked. Not like the soft, rendered rich pork belly that it should be. There is no porky taste to the broth. The noodles are perfect. The hard boiled egg – I’m sorry, half an egg. They don’t even give you a whole egg – is so over boiled that there’s a gray outer lining to it. NEVERAGAIN. Make the trek to Ramen Jinya in Studio City or Tsujita on Sawtelle. CASHONLY, by the way. Fuck it, don’t even come here.

Obviously I LOVETHISPLACE! I come here once a week sometimes I try my best and come every other week but it’s so addicting. At first I would get Shoyu Ramen and then I started adding more stuff to it and then they recommended #7 but I feel that the broth was changed. It doesn’t matter because I end up killing the whole bowl. Mind you, it’s a huge bowl portion and I drink all the brother and eat everything in it. Sometimes, I eat only half of it so I can have it for lunch the next day. Lol. If you like ramen and you like simple and you like friendly service then this is the place. It’s nothing fancy. It’s in a small shopping plaza. Parking space is very limited but this place is always packed at night. I have tried their Gyoza dumplings which is steamed and it’s pretty tasty. It doesn’t come with sauce, you’ll have to ask for it but when it does it taste good with or without sauce. Oh yes, this place CASHONLY!
