Not good. Portions are bad. Food takes forever to come out. Not very good chicken. Sides are bland. Bathroom smelled terribly

This is my favorite place for chicken and that says a lot because I eat a lot of chicken I’m not kidding I have chicken in literally every cuisine! I’m surprised this place is not rated more stars! There yucca rolls are the best and I can’t wait to go back!

Great prices and delicious chicken. I usually get the half chicken with two sides: yucca and plantains. It comes out to be about $ 10. So far this is the best Peruvian Chicken I’ve had in the reston area.

Ugh I’m so disappointed to even say this. I love the chicken here, one of the best pollo I’ve had. The fries are always fried perfectly too. Today as j was eating my chicken I run across a inch of curly black hair in my chicken. Not sure how I feel about this … Sucks because the place is so good and fast. Quite disgusted.

Okay, so we’re Peruvian chicken snobs We expect the yucca to be creamy and the chicken to be juicy(including the breast meat). Pollo Peru just doesn’t hit that mark. Their black beans and the rice are good, but that’s not the game. It’s not bad, but it’s not great either.

Peruvian in the DMV area is the best I’ve have in the states. My go to is the half chicken meal with rice/beans, yucca, or plantains. You can ask for the rice to be mixed with the beans as a single side. The sauces they give are a must to try.

Meh, it’s alright. Not the best but not the worst. Sides are appropriately proportioned and the price is decent.

We probably eat here once a week. I wish I knew what the rub was for the chicken so I could make this at home. I usually get it with the black beans and yucca fries. Tip– get extra side sauces and mix the green sauce into the beans. So delicious. Fast service. We usually get it to-go but they have a lot of seating if you want to stay and eat.

First time there and was ALRIGHT. I know Sunday’s they’re busy but the line was long and once you reach the front there was a dull, bland and rude cashier. I mean rude to the point where I wasn’t even greeted not asked what I wanted. Rather she stared at me waiting for me to spit out my order. The food was ok and the space was a but small and hard to walk around the tables without bumping into someone eating. I would’ve given then 4 stars bc the chicken was good but nothing peeves me more than a cheap restaurant, they give you about 2 – 3 small sauces, and charge you extra for more sauce(.50 per sauce if I remember correctly). They also don’t have fountain drinks, so you have a few bottled and canned drinks. I’d go again if I had no where to go in the area. Waku Chicken is nicer and not as cheap.

This is a good choice for take out or eat in. It’s pretty fast and reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and efficient. I like that you can see them preparing your food. I’m not sure what makes it Peruvian style, but it’s good chicken. I get the all white meat, ½ chicken which is plenty for me. The green sauces are great for spicing it up. And I love the plantains! I’ve now been several times and have been pleased on each visit.

I got the ¼ chicken with beans and salad. I also got their cookie dessert with the cream in the middle. Let me begin with the chicken! Omg. Delish! Not too dry or too moist. The sauces they give you are everything! I dipped the chicken in both before devouring it! The beans say they have a Latin flavor. They were ok. The salad was basic. None of the vegetables were wilted so that’s a plus. Now for the cookie!!! Amazing. I wasn’t expecting it to be so soft! It crumbles in your mouth. A person could eat this without their dentures in. The flavor was kind of vanilla. Not sure what the cream in the center was but the flavor blended well together.

This place is amazing. Tender delicious flavorful chicken and the best yucca fries I’ve had in the area. GREAT spicy sauce! Highly recommend!

This place is the bomb! Good place for a quick, inexpensive bite. I usually get a ¼ chicken with sides(like sweet potato fries and rice), with 2 green sauces. The green sauce is spicy and so delicious, i even dip my fries in there! The yellow sauce is a bit too sweet and mayonnaisey for my taste. The alfajor cookie is good too, shortbread cookies with dulce de leche in the middle.

Okay, this was my first time here. I first noticed the place when I was visiting the Home Depot as it is in the same lot; I think it’s called Home Depot Center. Now, who doesn’t really line the Peruvian style charbroiled chicken… always tasty. I ordered a basic meal for lunch which was ¼ chicken with rice and black beans. The chicken was done and moist just as it supposed to be. I’ve had this style of chicken at other places and sometimes it comes out so dry. The flavor, delicious! The beans were seasoned nicely but maybe a little on the salty side. If they use pork to cook them in, this could be the culprit. And the rice was, well, it was white rice. They do serve«premium» sides for an up charge. This time I will rate it a 4. The service was great at the registers and at pick up. The only thing that made me downgrade from a possible 4.5 was that they gave me the order«to go» when told them that I would be eating in. Either way it’s served in or on styrofoam with plastic utensils. I will definitely be back.

This is my go to place for Peruvian chicken! I just found out they’re doing so well that they opened a 2nd location. They focus on chicken only and do it the best around. Do yourself a favor and stop in soon!

I ordered via the online website last night around 6pm. I ordered a whole chicken(dark meat), all yellow sauces, cole slaw and sweet potato fries. The chicken was very dry. It was flavored perfectly but way overcooked. I got two green sauces which i did not ask for. They tasted pretty bad. The two yellow sauces were good though. Both sides were delicious. I really wish they would learn to cook their chicken properly. If they did, I would prefer this place over Waku in Herndon.

I regularly go their for their Pollo Peru melt sandwich. It is quite good. A good chicken sandwich for $ 7.41 ! I had tried their peruvian chicken as well, it was good, not great !

So many Peruvian chicken choices, so little time! Choose wisely… Are you anywhere near Reston? Are you not heading into Herndon? And you’re obviously searching for pollo peruviano, because you’re reading this review, so that’s what you’re in the mood for, right? Are you looking for a place with ample parking, friendly counter service, succulent, fall-off-the-bone not-too-salty rotisserie chicken? Maybe you need to stop at Home Depot afterward? Then head on over to Pollo Peru in the Home Depot shopping center! One of the other key points of star-dom for Pollo Peru is their menu — it’s simple, it’s concise, it’s easy to follow, and it’s definitely affordable. You won’t need to squint to read tiny print above cashier’s heads, or be in the way of others as you’re deciding, as the large menu is to your left on the wall as you enter, or pick up a printed brochure with the exact same menu reproduced inside. CHICKEN. POLLO. POULET. Whatever you want to call it, Pollo Peru does it right. If you’re wild about rotisserie chicken but not so wild about the mess factor and bone-pickin’, they do offer an array of sandwiches. I haven’t sampled them, but they should be tasty, given everything else offered. It’s only $ 7 for a sandwich without sides. I loved the«Low-Carb Meal,» which consisted of a ¼ all-white meat chicken, and a large salad, for only $ 6.39. Hubby opted for the ¼ chicken meal, so we were able to share the 2 sides that he chose that came along with the meal, still only $ 5.89, with minor upcharges for certain sides or white meat only. Still quite a deal, no? Sides and their quality are also important to me at a Peruvian joint. Such as: how good is the fried yucca? Is the rice savory and well-cooked? How are the ubiquitous yellow/green sauces? Do they taste fresh and homemade? How do they complement the delicious pollo al horno you’re about to consume? They obviously sell Inka Kola and Chicha Morada, plus of note are their Yucca Balls, which are different from the fried yucca side… you really need to get some Yucca Balls in your life. There are your standard desserts in individual containers for sale in the fridge display case as you pay, and there’s also a kid’s meal with either an 1⁄8 chicken or chicken tenders. Orale!(Okay, I know that’s Mexican slang, and we’re talking about a Peruvian place, but you get what I mean)

Originally was going to give 3.5 stars, but ½ star bumped up because of the friendly service received by the woman working the front this evening. I ordered the ¼ chicken with the salad and fries, and my bf ordered the ½ chicken with yuca and coleslaw. There is a slight upcharge on choosing Yuca as a side(50cents, I think?). The prices could be cheaper compared to other joints. The food came out in 10 minutes or so, and we had a flan as well. Also ordered tres leches cake, but sadly they were out. The woman helping us in the front gave us the choice of getting another dessert, or refund. She happily refunded our money on the cake. The chicken was moist, I was happy about that. The sauces are always the moment of truth at Peruvian spots. Peru passed! Yellow sauce was our agreed-on favorite. The green wasn’t spicy at all. The fries were fries, the salad was a nice blend of non-iceberg(way to go, Pollo Peru!) and comes with balsamic vinegar sauce. The yuca was a little on the dry side tonight. Overall, filling and solid meal. I was satisfied with this visit! The restaurant itself is spacious, and we were happy that it was empty so we could choose anywhere to sit. Little did we know, we came in at 530 right before the dinner rush. 6pm a crowd of people kept flowing in; good for them! Good chicken, nice people. Honored the Unilocal discount. Thumbs up, Pollo Peru.

Oh Man. I decided to switch it up today and let Unilocal find me someplace new for lunch. Best. Decision. Ever. I love Peruvian Chicken but didn’t want to deal with greasy hands/messy desk so I was excited to see a sandwich option on the menu. Nestled in a strip mall, in a Home Depot parking lot, Pollo Peru is most likely not something I would have found on my own. Apparently that’s just me though as the line was almost out the door! The place itself is simple, there is a huge menu on the wall on one side, signs where to order, signs where to pick up, and a large seated area beyond the waiting area. I got my food quickly and the staff seemed to handle the lunch rush with ease. When I finally got back to my desk(after what felt like the longest car ride ever!) I was excited to see how much food I got for $ 10. The sandwich was flavorful and the chicken was juicy and delicious! The yucca is probably the best I have ever had, crunchy on the outside and soft and cloud like on the inside. The coleslaw was sweet – just how I like it. Zero complaints here! The green sauce was spicier than I expected, but it was a great contrast to the more mayonnaise based light sauce. I can’t wait to go back and try the plantains, I saw some on a few plates and they looked fantastic!
