SOLLY’S TRADITIONMARCHESON! Our family has eaten at Solly’s for special occasions since the 1960s, I guess. It just wouldn’t be a birthday or get-together unless we devoured Solly’s Red Arrow Dressing, battered onion and(green) pepper rings, mushrooms and our choice of hand-cut steaks! Solly’s service is great and so is the food. Solly’s doesn’t seem to cut many corners, so the prices aren’t like those at chain steakhouses, but then again, the quality is usually superior. Those used to 2/$ 20 or 2/$ 25 deals should be prepared to pay that for one person at Solly’s, not including adult beverages. If you haven’t been to Solly’s, go. If you haven’t been lately, you’ve been missing the same great meals that Solly himself served for so many years. Damn it’s good!

If you blink, you will have driven through Reynolds, IN without realizing it. There are two restaurants in Reynolds that I know of, and Solly’s is the fine dining establishment. The locals within 10 miles of Solly’s swear it’s the best steak they’ve ever had, and they’ve been to some expensive steak joints that couldn’t hold a candle to Solly’s. I really try to tune the locals out because I’ve realized that they rarely travel further than 10 miles from their own home. With that said, you do get what you pay for at Solly’s, and if you keep that in mind, you won’t be disappointed. They know how to cook a steak right. They offer several different types of cut, but it’s all cut so thin, like a skirt steak, that it looks like cheap meat. I expect my steaks no less than an inch thick after cooking. You’re not going to find dry aged steak here. Their other entrees are actually quite good and incredibly cheap for how much food you are given. I had no idea restaurants made fried chicken gizzards, but I’m adventurous, and it was interesting. It’s my in-laws favorite, local place to eat when they’re visiting because it’s one step up from the usual diner but doesn’t cost more. The furniture and interior could use some updating, as it all looks like it was purchased in the early 80’s. The décor is not any nicer than the diner down the street.
