Excellent park. 1) We came here to hike to the fire tower. 2) The views from the fire tower was excellent. 3) The park provides maps. Which is awesome.

And do you think there are no ticks at Poets Walk??? If it’s that time of the year they are everywhere. And if you require an overlook and good scenery to walk you need to revise your requirements. What you need is a trail… period.

Although I used to be able to take a hard walk in this forest, with the fear of picking up a tick now, the days of walking here are super-limited. However, this forest doesn’t overlook any good scenery(for scenery, travel just a little further down River Rd to Poets Walk.)
