My goodness, I love this café. The server was wonder, and the place was clean… I would recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Only got to fly around the pattern a few times today due to the haze throughout the area but ended a fun hour with a perfect cheeseburger and potato salad. With a Coke, came out to about 7.50. Talking to Jerry alone was worth the price. Looks like they will be moving due to the city closing the airport in 2014. Burger was done perfectly with torta bread. Will be back and support them. Too bad the other airports like Fullerton and Corona don’t have a guy like Jerry and his cook!

Saturday I had the opportunity to fly to Rialto and discovered that the once closed café has been reopened, remodeled, staffed by super-friendly folks and serving food very much worth a full stop landing… or just head inside for the FREE coffee they offer to all pilots. Aurora Diaz opened the Eagles Nest last year after her boyfriend Jerry, a Veteran Reno Air Race P-51 Driver, gave her a choice of Christmas gifts: Money or a Coffee Shop? She chose the later. The Eagles Nest offers excellent, home style prepared hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, burritos and a few«not on the menu» specialty items. Ask Aurora for a bowl of her popular Albondigas Soup. Nothing on the menu is more than $ 6.50. Coffee is a buck, but FREE for pilots! Taco Tuesday features 2 hard shell beef tacos, rice and beans for $ 5.75. The Eagles Nest is open Tuesday — Saturday 10AM — 3:30PM(Closed Sun & Mon). Tie-Downs are just a few yards from the front door. Give it a try!
