Best Dickey’s location IMO. I’ve gotten to know the staff there by name and they know me as well. The jalapeño sausage is really good as is the pulled pork. Try the sweet BBQ sauce on everything. The apple cobbler is very good. Great stop for lunch with good daily lunch specials. And the big yellow cup of sweet tea and free ice cream are the best way to finish the meal.

Don’t come here. I got a free drink by showing my badge and they put an extra charge on my ticket saying I had a cookie. When I asked about it the cashier said«oh I wasn’t paying attention». Watch your receipt if you dare to come here.

Baked potato was cold. Didn’t even melt the butter or cheese. Way overpriced for quality, even on sliced brisket plate.

The few times I have had Dickey’s I am not really that impressed. There is not much of a wow factor. The meat is decent but doesn’t have much flavor. The 3 choices of sauce sweet, mild, and spicy none of them really do much for me. They are a little on the sweet side which I’m not a fan of for my BBQ. I do enjoy the smoked turkey which is usually moist. The sides are pretty basic and bland not much seasoning or flavor. There are a lot of BBQ places in DFW and Dickeys is in the middle to bottom teir that I have tried.

Not the biggest fan of this place anymore. With the amount of new BBQ places popping up in town, there are so many places that are much better than this place. They have some decent sides, but who comes to a BBQ place for their sides. They will have to vastly improve the quality of their meats if they ever want me to return.

I called in a takeout order for some customers today. The countertops had not been cleaned in a while. The employees were not too friendly and were not very service oriented. I arrived at my customer’s office and… NOPAPERGOODS! Not impressed, not returning.

I’ll start by saying I love Dickey’s in general. It’s one of our top favorite bbq places. I like their sides and their bbq sauces are great. This location has a good size dining room and is always well kept. Of all of their locations that we’ve been to, this is still my favorite location. We’ve also gotten our holiday meats from Dickey’s as well.

The Bar B Q that is served at a Dickey’s is acclaimed by some as being great Texas Bar B Q. I personally don’t think it is anywhere close to the best bar b q since my home state Kentucky has some of the world’s best. Dickey’s just has to fit in a middle category in Texas. The meat is good and not dried out, however there is no distinct flavor and adding a lot of bar b q sauce is not my taste at all. The chicken was moist and tender as was the brisket. There are selections for veggies and we like the fried okra. Tip — if the fried okra tray is empty and that is what you desire, ask them to cook some more and bring it to your table. They always seems to bring a very large serving when they are out on the serving line and the okra is one of the best veggies they serve. Check the specials board to see what may be on sale for the day. You may get an extra of some sort like a drink or veggie at a reduced price. The place was clean the day we visited.

All employees working when I went to spend my money at this establishment didnt care if I was there, didn’t get greeted, didn’t say thank you, food was so so, will not return, will instead go to Soulmans in Richardson to spend my hard earned money.

First of all, i only came here since i get those valpak coupons. Those coupons go pretty hard. Every month, valpak sends those BOGO coupons which i happily use. I stopped by with my ebony buddy Giordan C. after our workout to get some post workout protein. I hadn’t been to Dickeys since HS so i really didn’t know what to expect. We both got the 2 meat plate. We chose fatty brisket and ribs as our meat. The cool thing about Dickey’s is that you can load up as much sides as you want on your plate. Of course, being frugal, we loaded up our plates with sides which consisted of green beans, cheesy potatoes, mac and cheese, and cole slaw. The brisket wasn’t bad at all. Fatty, moist, and tender, It was solid brisket. I wasn’t expecting a nice bark or smokiness since it’s dickeys so all of you BBQ nazis can suck it. The ribs were a little too tender. Normally people think fall off the bone is what you want, but that means you overcooked them. I’ll be frequently visiting Dickeys for a post workout meal since i always get those valpak coupons.

Went to Dickeys for the first time and it was AWEFUL! The worst barbecue I’ve ever tasted, my husband and I both ordered the 2 meat combo both with pork ribs which tasted like they were a week old, I had beef brisket that was stringy and dry, with wet tasteless Mac & cheese and baked beans that came from a can. My husband had hot links that were under cooked, with green beans that were over cooked and stringy, potato salad that was more like cold mashed potatoes with too much mustard. I didn’t like the cafeteria feel it was very cold and unwelcoming. The best thing at Dickeys was the unsweetened tea, that’s the only reason I gave this wretched place 1 star. I will NEVER and I mean Never eat at a Dickeys again. This shouldn’t even be called barbecue!

Don’t bother going here for lunch. With about 5 people in the restaraunt I ordered a westerner with an order of fries. They said that they would bring them out because they are made to order. After eating my sandwich and the coleslaw and drinking my large drink I see the kitchen staff had made their own lunches and sat down but didn’t bother to cook the fries. I asked for a refund from the«manager» and he turned to to the cashier and mumbled something to where she refunded the money. Not a effing word to me, no sorry, no apologies or tuff shit. I winched at paying $ 13+ for a sandwich and two sides but ok, my choice. I cannot accept the«don’t give a crap attitude». Gee, I wonder if the health department has checked up on them lately? Guess what Dickey’s, I will never walk through your doors again. Worst example of customer service.

Went there with my girlfriend late one night and as we were ordering, two mexican employees working behind the counter started harrassing me and said things like«you must be a rich man» and made other smark aleck comments to me. The reason, I realized later, is that I am white and my girlfriend, who is asian, looks mexican. These two mexican employees apparently got jealous because they thought I had«taken one of their women». Anyway, they continued their insults at me, and as I paid, I complained to the manager of what they said to me. He just shrugged it off as if no big deal. Later, I called and spoke w/owner of this particular Dickey’s and told him what happened. He offered to give me two coupons for free meals which I declined of course as I did not want to return there. I thought he would fire the one mexican who was giving me the most crap. I drove by there couple of weeks later and peeked in and they both were still working there… guess the owner does not care if his employees harass the customers. I will never eat at a Dickey’s BBQ again.

I typically go in for take out because I don’t have much time to sit and eat and visit — too much work to do and a short lunch break, the food is always excellent and the service is pretty good, I wish they would add a drive thru to this location — this is the only reason I gave three stars rather than 5. Love the pulled pork sandwich beyond reason and adore it when they go on special :) Try the baked potato salad, it’s delicious.

So we go into Dickey’s today and the first thing that caught my eye — Cajun fried turkey $ 59.99!(10 – 12 lbs) I first think, «That’s too much. I’m not going to pay that.» Then I think, oh yeah, Thanksgiving!!! It sounds delicious, but alas, the wife and I can’t eat that much and not try to shoot ourselves in the face from eating turkey for the next 3 weeks. So we get in line and the wife loves pulled pork so, of course, she gets the pulled pork sammich with green beans and coleslaw. The sandwich was good. Just like it should be. The green beans were soggy. The nutrition and the flavor had been cooked right out of them. Sad. I don’t like coleslaw, so I can’t comment on it. I get the special, which turns out, is a pulled pork plate. So it’s mound of pulled pork(probably enough for two pulled pork sandwiches) and two sides. I get a sizable scoop of peach cobbler and then another dollop for good measure. I realize afterwards that the peach cobbler probably was probably larger in volume than the pulled pork. Then the guy behind the counter says, «I’m fryin’ up some okra and fries.» So I stand there patiently waiting for them to finish and he says, «Oh, I’ll bring ‘em out to you.» Even better! So we go to pay and the wife is looking for our coupon and she can’t find it in her purse. So she pulls out a competitor’s coupon, you know, it rhymes with«Schpring Schreek» and says, «do you take competitor’s coupons? The guy says, «Oh sure! We do because people hate that place.» Well, if he’ll take the coupon, I’ll let him say just about anything about his competitors regardless of how I feel about them. I have no loyalty to them. So he rings us up, full price for mine and the wife’s is free. CHA-CHING. Two meals for us for under $ 10. That can’t be beat, I don’t care if you’re Michael Jackson(is it too soon for MJ references?) I’ll have to agree with Phillip W. The Mac and Cheese is terrible here. I’m not sure what they put in it, but it’s awful. We’re paying and the okra is done and the guy hands me a nice bucket of okra that’s piping hot and crisp as a new dollar bill. YUM. Then there’s dessert! Free soft serve ice cream. Always a treat and I got my peach cobbler just for the occasion. Peach cobbler with style? Yes, please! Can’t complain. It was good. My one gripe is that I didn’t get anything to go with my pulled pork. A piece of bread, a roll, a saltine or something. It’s just not the same just eating pulled pork by itself. If you went to the competitor, you know, it rhymes with Pling Pleek, you get hot fresh rolls every 20 seconds when the girl comes by with the basket. Yes, I understand it’s a trade off. One place you get ice cream, another you get hot fresh bread. Pick your poison. You can’t win them all. So all in all, Dickey’s, you’re alright. The place is well kept, it’s not a pit as the name suggests, however, they do have barbecue and if you’re a messy eater, perhaps you should wear a dickey.

Usually, I would get at least the two meat combo with two sides. Sunday, however, I got the sliced beef sandwich combo deal that comes with one side and a drink. There is nothing ridiculous about this sandwich; just meat and sauce in a bun. That’s all you need… no veggies, no cheese, no pretense. Their sliced beef is always delicious and tender. The side I chose… folks, I loooooooove mac and cheese. Kraft blue box comes through in a pinch. Gourmet recipes get a thumbs up from me if they’re done right. I am not currently a fan of the mac and cheese from Dickey’s. It was very bland. Even with salt and pepper and mixing in some barbecue sauce and eventually some pickles(since for some reason they didn’t have relish on Sunday). It just had no flavor to it. Now, I wish I had chosen the french fries instead. Sorry, guys. I love your food… thankfully, my wife had some green beans with her combo and I got to sneak a few bites off them. I hope someone from this location or someone from Dickey’s is reading these reviews… please do something with your mac and cheese recipe. You would have my utmost appreciation for it. :)

I found a coupon in the value pak last week and decided to go. The coupon was a buy one get one free deal. You don’t have to purchase two drinks to get the second meal free. Also, on the back of the coupon, it says kids eat free every night with the purchase of an adult entrée. You get complimentary ice cream here. I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of okra and coleslaw. It was okay. I actually like Red Hot and Blue’s pulled pork sandwich better. The one at Dickeys was cold even with the extra bbq sauce on top. Everything on my plate was cold not even close to warm. I had to warm it up by adding more of their hot bbq sauce from the condiments bar. The coleslaw was pretty good. The okra was small and a bit overcooked. I always add jalepenos if they are available. I actually liked the jalepenos the best out of all the things on my plate. That’s a little sad because they probably came straight out of a jar. My hubby got the three meats deal with two sides. He got sausage, ribs and brisket. The brisket was so dry he didn’t even eat it. He ate all the ribs and most of the sausage. I gave him ¼ of my pulled pork sandwich because he didn’t like the brisket. I told him that’s what the bbq sauce was for but even the bbq sauce couldn’t save the brisket. I would have taken a picture of his plate for everyone but he dug into the plate before I had a chance. He had the bbq beans and the au gratin potatoes. Both were just okay. I have to say, I am still very full from eating here though. I probably won’t be back here unless someone drags me.
