Personally, i do not recommend this place. Every dish I had was bland or cold and I was so disappointed at the service. There is fast service but to me the food is the most important part and I felt like they didn’t care as to what to serve us. I’m extremely sadden.

I really hate giving low reviews to places, but this restaurant really deserves it. I ordered the fish noodle soup and a Duck+BBQ pork with rice dish(all in all, about 14 $ total). The fried fish in the noodle soup tasted like canned sardines and was virtually inedible due to the amount of tiny bones inside(The lady even warned me about the bones before giving me my plate). I could have grabbed a ramen soup packet from the inside of Tien Tien Supermarket and mixed that with hot water and it would have tasted better than the soup broth. The noodles were hard and tasted old. 0⁄5 for the fish soup. But all was not lost! There was still the BBQ dish, right? I mean, you can’t go wrong with that! It’s right in their name! Well apparently you can. The duck tasted old and dry, like it was roasting for too long. They mostly cut up the ‘leftover’ parts of the duck, leaving me with neck portions, which has very little meat to it. The BBQ pork was tough and chewy, and at one point I nearly gagged trying to swallow it down. It also lacked a lot of flavor — like it was boiled in water, microwaved, and dipped in some ‘red dye’. When I asked for the BBQ dish to go(I hate wasting food, and I thought it might taste better reheated. I was wrong.) the person who gave me my to-go-box just grabbed the dish and dumped it into the box without any sort of care that they were all just mixing together. There’s a reason it’s almost always empty. (On a side note, I did buy their fresh roasted duck once here before, and it wasn’t bad. Nothing amazing though. That’s why I give them a 2 star instead of 1.)

I wanted to like this place but overall wasn’t impressed. I’m disappointed I didn’t go to Jeng chi for their Xiao long bao instead. These dumplings I had were Xiao Long FAIL. While they had a decent flavor there was barely any juice in them. It’s like the cook didn’t really try and gave me ones they made the previous day. I did really like the dipping sauce with them though. My girlfriend got the szechuan beef which I thought tasted a little weird like they put ketchup in it. I can’t agree with the other reviewers on the dumplings. They were mediocre at best. You know what the highlight of my meal was? Chinese brocolli with garlic absolutely delicious. Not good enough to come back for. Just didn’t feel like I got a good quality for the money paid.

The food here is so good I can’t believe there aren’t many people that go. I love the jalapeño beef, beef with egg on rice, and beef flat noodle dishes. Their shanghai dumplings are also really good. Basically I’ve never been disappointed when I went. Sure, they could use better décor but I am all about the food.

The wife and I stopped here for dinner on Friday night. The shopping center where this restaurant is located has so many great choices – Korean, Thai, 3 other Chinese, and Japanese. We are really glad that we chose this place. We ordered the Peking Duck and it was excellent! The skin was super crispy. The duck slices had good tender meat and only a little fat other than the skin. The steamed sticky buns, which ordinarily are not my favorite, were really good. The meat was cut into perfectly sized pieces for the buns. The best part is that the duck comes two ways. About half the duck is served on a platter to be eaten with the buns, scallions, and hoisin sauce. The other half comes as stir fry with vegies. I did not expect that! It’s like a free second meal, which we took home for leftovers. There is grocery store attached so you can pop over to buy alcohol since the restaurant does not serve beer or wine. Overall, a real find and we will definitely return for duck again.

The duck is AWESOME!!! I’ve driven about 25min more than a few times in the last two months because the roast duck here is soooo good! The prices are super reasonable too, and you get a good amount of food. The food is simple though, and the restuarant is a small, homey place, nothing fancy. The wonton noodle soup(with duck) was so delicious as well. The menu isn’t as extensive as most other Chinese restuarants, but I always just get duck here anyways. Try it, you won’t be disappointed!

Not having showered, changed my tee shirt and underwear for a few days, and feeling every bit as hungry as a wandering vagabond, the prospect of eating at a «Chinatown» establishment suggested, at the very least, something authentic(and, with that, a decent, if not, fulfilling meal for someone like me who is a sucker for Cantonese food).
However, when all was said and done, I felt burned and disappointed(and, a little annoyed too since I had sat in my car for so long to get to Richardson).
The wonton noodle soup with beef brisket, a dish that I order quite often and know well, was totally unremarkable. The noodles were inexplicably pale and a bit too soft. The broth, which was flavorless, was unnaturally dark as if it had been overseasoned with soy sauce. The greatest insult was the brisket itself, which was dry and hard and invariably remnants from a prior day’s batch.
The other soup that I sampled didn’t fare well either. It featured, like the wonton noodle soup with beef brisket, the same pale egg noodles; but, this time, the noodles partnered with roast duck and roast pork(which were both simply plain and not the least bit noteworthy). The wontons themselves(in both soups) had an exceedingly soggy skin that suggested that they had been soaking for a while or were not fresh. The wonton filling was a coarse, lumpy mixture of pork and shrimp that simply tasted bland. My favorite beef chow fun(or, curiously, «beef with flat noodles» as Yung Kee calls it, a dish that I always look forward to eating) was passable but unimpressively executed. Sadly, the rice noodles and beef did not taste like they had been stir fried in a wok(although I am sure they were). How could they not have been? What kind of Cantonese restaurant would have used a teflon pan? At best, the noodles and beef simply tasted cooked. In fact, the beef, curiously, had a mysterious and slightly gamey quality to them and a coarse texture that seemed endemic to the meats at this restaurant. To make matters worse, my glass of water tasted like wood had been soaking in it for hours. Where does the tap water in the Dallas Metroplex come from anyway? Overall, Yung Kee just seemed amateurish. I guess, as someone from Washington, DC, I should have known better. Being a restaurant in «Chinatown» surely doesn’t guarantee a good meal by any means. But, I expected more. Doesn’t Dallas trump Washington, DC more often than not? The Cowboys have been kicking the Redskins’ ass for so long, I just assumed I was in for some delicious food. Oh, well. I guess, I’ll just head out and move on to the next place.

I have been to many places in US(Seattle, Chicago, NYC, Boston, Houston, etc) for Chinese BBQ. This is one of the best BBQ place I have ever been, esp in the South. I grew up in HK. Their Chinese BBQ is as good as the one in HK. Their BBQ duck and pork are delicious! Price is very reasonable too. This was our first trip to Dallas/Richardson and ran into this place… and we started loving it. We even went back there the next day for more Chinese BBQ. Highly recommend this place!!!

3rd visit to this place… they seem to not run out of roasted pork as often as other places… but sometimes it’s fatter(less meat) than other places. located in the Chinatown shopping strip this place is pretty good on prices /quality /quantity… we ordered a soup for 2 people we didn’t finish a bbq pork + shrimp wonton noodle soup… soup was flavorful but the pork + wonton can be a little more salty-er(noodle is your typical egg noodles which is good) we also ordered do meow tsai… not sure what it is in English but the portion was great and it was tender and tastey! their duck is also good too… not over cooked and very flavorful~ and they take credit cards…(1st chinese bbq doesn’t) I’d probably visit this place more just b/c that… and the staff is friendly /faster than 1st bbq(sorry 1st bbq) a good 4 stars… if the chef can cut better pork for us next time =P less fatty but better section of the pork I guess? =P

In my opinion, this is one of the best places in our little«China Town.» It’s attached to the market there, which is cool. You can always tell the authenticity of a place by who is eating there. While occasionally you’ll find a white dude in here, it’s mostly Chinese. There is one lady that is working every time I come in, she’s extremely sweet. She has let us modify some menu items(substitute duke for more bbq pork!) and always is real accommodating. I’m a creature of habit, so I usually shuffle back and forth between the same things. If you go, make sure you try Singaporean Curry Noodles, BBQ Pork w/rice, BBQ Crispy Noodles. With these I know you won’t go wrong. Great taste, great prices, great portions. hao de!

Better than First Chinese BBQ. Yes, I said it. First Chinese BBQ is so overrated in my eyes. Although a lot of Chinese BBQ places are similar, Yung Kee stands out because of their Xiao long bao(Pork Soup Dumpling). These bad boys are steamed to perfection and they have to be eaten with a spoon and chopsticks because it’s so darn juicy! They do take a little bit longer to cook since they steam it right when you order it. I would say this is their signature item. All the other items on the menu are pretty decent as far as the price and quality. Their shrimp wonton soup is pretty scrumptious as well. Add roasted duck to it if you’re feeling a bit HONGRAY. :)

Yung Kee BBQ was surprisingly good. We always go to First Chinese BBQ whenever we want a Char-shiu Pork or other Chinese BBQ dishes, but when one day we decided to had dinner at this place, we actually like it. All the food that we ordered were very well executed. Cha-siu pork and roast pork were very good. Crispy tofu that we ordered was also very tasty. Soft noodle was okay(I’ve had better one at FCB). Price was wonderfully cheap! Surprisingly, unlike most Chinese restaurants, they accept credit card. The service was also friendly. Will definitely be back again.

I’ve been wanting Chinese food for like two weeks, but was too lazy to drive to Chinatown(Belt Line and Greenville) to get something good. And last night on Pushing Daisies the whole episode happened in a Chinese restaurant, so I had to feed the beast. I walked up and down the strip mall looking for something I hadn’t had before. I’ve been to Carvelle a million times. I settled on Yung Kee because it’s attached to the grocery store and I needed something from the store afterward. Next time I’ll check out Shui Wah because they also have dim sum and they’ve remodeled. The Duck is pretty good, and I normally hate duck. the beef with peppers was excellent. They have Singapore noodles and it was very good. I enjoyed everything I had here and I will be back.
