I absolutely LOVE this place! After a few bland, cheap tasting local spots, we found Kung Pow… and we are very happy with the food and service. Food is awesome, we’ve had a variety of beef and chicken dishes, as well as a few appetizers and soups. I once came in with my infant in tow, and they offered to carry my order out to my car! 5 stars, all around!

Finding a halal Chinese place that delivers has been a huge help for me and friends when we need to get something to eat and don’t have the time to go out. Order from here super frequently and have tried basically every entrée they have. My favorites are the jalepeno beef and chicken and szechuan chicken and I’m a big fan of the hot n sour soup and the crab wontons. Very pleasant people running the restaurant. Just wish there were some kind of benefit to being a loyal customer but no harm since not everybody does those sorts of things.

Kingpow Asian diner offers a 2nd halal Chinese choice in the crowded Plano restaurant scene. Owner is nice and explains questions about food and it’s source. Service us quick and fast and the food just tastes so good. Best part is the price where you have an option to add soup or spring roll or skip and save $ 2 bucks which us just ingenious as it keeps your bill in single digit for generously good serving size of food. I ordered kungpow combo. Over all Taft and spice combination with the chicken bead and shrimp meat taste was good. A little too many grilled shrimps though but then it was a combo. My colleague ordered a kungpow chicken and he loved it.

Love the fact that they served halal food! Chicken corn soup is highly recommended. Friendly staff

I love that this is a halal option for Asian food considering that there aren’t so many, but the food is far from great. Everything tastes bland or doused in hot sauce if you ask for it to be spicy. I’ve tried lo mein, garlic chicken, schezwan, the beef, fried rice and hot and sour soup across different visits and I haven’t been particularly impressed with any. Also the service is basically nonexistent. I really don’t think I’ll be returning anymore.

I love Kung pow & so do my kids. We order often and never disappointed. The kung pow shrimp is delicious! It’s always clean in there too. We mostly get it delivered and don’t remember them ever being late. Try them out!

The menu appears to be very standard with addition to some basic sushi items(yeah not so much). It seems most fast food Chinese restaurants order from the same frozen battered meats supplier. Ordered the Szechuan chicken with white rice for lunch, the portion size was not overwhelming but adequate. Their chicken wings in the sweet chili sauce are probably the best thing so far, though. Their chicken lettuce wraps smelled pretty good and lettuce did not look«old» or «brown». All in all, this place is probably better than most.

Fried rice is good, very consistent as I get take out here often. Crab Rangoons are also good. Basic diner atmosphere and the staff always get my special order right. Reasonably priced. Brown rice is a nice option with entrees.

I have no idea what happened to this place… Service and quality have steeply declined. I went in for a late lunch today… was the only person in the place. Service: Several tables were dirty with dishes stacked on them even with 3 people idly standing behind the counter talking loudly. The man who brought my food to the table could have easily cleaned the tables on his way back, but didn’t bother too. Food: The serving portions were even smaller than before and unceremoniously dumped on a plate and just plopped in front of me. I had requested fried rice, received brown rice. I didn’t bother complaining, just wanted to get out of there… Sad to see this place treated like this… wonder if the management/staff has changed. I don’t think I’ll be going back…

Who knew«Lemon pepper wings» could be tasty?! I polished off a full plate by myself(sure was famished)! Also had the Jalapeño chicken with fried rice, and it was nicely done. The hot and sour soup was not upto the mark though. Delivery was on time, though 1 hour for a simple order is longish. They were the only chinese/Asian restaurant willing to deliver to the hotel I was at, and have to say I was grateful for that!

The food at this locale is quite unique, in it both being fairly authentic Asian cuisine while also being Halal, a trait looked for by many with such dietary restrictions.(There is no pork items basically.) The food is in variety and tastes very good, albeit on the spicier side. The white rice is fresh and the fried rice is NOT greasy providing a good side dish. My only concern is that the food is slightly oily and the sauce too thin. The sauce has a very soup like consistency and is thinner than most. The oil is not severe but present, and does coat the food. They do in fact deliver, with a minimum of $ 15 *Without Tax or Gratuity. The deliver comes before the recommended wait time and is kind and respectful. The only oddity here is their lunch/dinner menu. From 11 – 3 I believe, they offer a lunch menu, which consists of a box of an entrée with rice. However, after this time, they will charge you $ 3 more for a different serving, with the entrée in a separate container from the rice. As to why they don’t follow the same way as others and just offer an extra item or special items confuses me, but it is the reason why the menu is as such.

Went there for the very first time since we r new in the area. Food was delicious. We all loved it. Best part is its all Halal. Portions were sufficient for the price. Very clean place and service is good too. Looking forward to be there again soon.

I decided to try this place out since it’s by my work. Prices are affordable but the food was not good to me. Maybe I’m too spoiled with good chinese food but the hot and sour soup was really sour. And I also got orange chicken. You can reallllyyy taste the Orange. The rice is bland! Nothing in it. Might as well get steamed rice. The only plus to it besides the prices is that it was fresh and hot.

I’ve been going to Kung Pow for years for fresh Chinese food with lots of fresh vegetables. Now that I live in Dallas I still go out of my way to make it here. My favorite is the Kung Pao Chicken which comes standard with Zucchini in it. I have not found it anywhere else that is as good. When I want a vegan meal, it’s also good with Tofu. And a very nice family-owned place. As far as I know, it’s the same family who opened it years ago.

Worst restaurant service ever! They gave me kung pow chicken instead of beef… and asked if I could switch… they said they have to charge… extra money for beef. Don’t go there if you are expected to be served with dignity

Nice local Asian diner. They have pretty good food at reasonable prices. Recipes sometimes fluctuate but have never had a truly bad experience in numerous visits.(15+)
