Best barber shop I’ve found in Texas. Old school with the kind of attention to detail you won’t find at other barber shops.

Excellent shop! I’m lucky enough to live within walking distance, always happy with the haircuts from Sid and catching up with him on neighborhood happenings. Great place!

Went here for the first time last month and got a sharp haircut. Billy was my barber and he’s a great, old school guy who did a solid job on the cut. I would recommend this place hands down and plan on making this my go to place for a haircut.

No nonsense, old school barbershop. The barbers– there are no new-fangled«stylists» here– don’t bounce around to other chairs at other shops in the area; you’re going to see the same faces again and again and again once you start having your hair cut here. The same«regulars,» too, as their clientele has been with them for years. Always call ahead. Getting in for an appointment, even at the last minute, is not generally a problem, but they like to know you’re coming and be sure to bring cash. Again, it’s old school. If you like a meticulous haircut in a setting that reminds you of the place your Pop used to bring you when you were a kid, Sid’s is the spot for you. And if you just don’t get it, you just don’t get it.

I’ve been going to Billy since I was about 12, almost 30 years ago. Since leaving Texas in the mid-90’s, I usually stop in whenever I’m in Richardson to get a haircut. A great place with classic wood décor and memorabilia from Sid King and the Five Strings and other rockabilly acts. Never had a bad cut!

Billy usually cuts my hair(once it was Sid Jr.). It’s always great. The cut is $ 15 and I always tip $ 5 because they always do a fantastic job. I really like their attention to detail. Billy especially will take the extra time to look for stray hairs and just overall pays attention to the cut. I don’t know how to describe this stuff because I’m not an expert, but it beats the hell out of going to Procuts or wherever and having someone clip around on you while they’re waiting for perms to set.

I’ve been going to Sid for about a year and a half and am very happy with the results. I like a barber that doesn’t need detailed instructions on how to cut my hair. With Sid, I just sit down and he takes over and my hair always looks good afterwards. If I had one nit-picky complaint, it would be that he uses Bic razors instead of a classic straight-edge, which I prefer. But compared to barbers in the area, Sid’s is the only place I’ll go.

Sid Jr. cuts my son, Max’s, hair. Max is always happy with how he looks when we leave, as am I. Sometimes I bring a picture, but even when I don’t, Sid Jr. seems to know how to make my son look clean-cut, yet up-to-date.

I’ve been coming to Sid’s for years now. I can usually call the day of for an appointment, show up and you’re in the seat. It’s a family run joint, they’ve been cutting hair for generations. Sid Jr. has taken over now that his father has retired to east Texas. Shampoo, massage, scissor cut, hot shaving cream on the back of the neck, the works. I drive 30 – 45 min. to get my haircut here. Old School… just the way it should be.
