Not liking the changes… The lighting is highly annoying in the bakery, deli, and produce area now. That artisan grocery store feel is gone and it seems so generic. I hope they tow the silver Honda Civic that has a flat tire at the end of tom thumbs parking lot. It’s been there about two months now…

The honeymoon is over… my Tom Thumb is secretly becoming an Albertsons. First the Cowboys pro shop. Then the clutter and cheap cinnamon rolls stacked up at the registers. And now they are replacing the fancy lighting with ugly industrial lighting in parts of the store. And it doesn’t match the existing lighting. My eyes hurt shopping in there because they made it so bright. And it made it much easier to see how many items they were out of in the store and how dirty the floors were. It might still say Tom Thumb on the door but the Safeway days are over… they are going ruin these stores by running them like Albertsons.

A kosher bakery and kosher meat market make this Tom Thumb so cool, and it shows in the range and quality of the groceries they stock. Despite its medium(thank you) size, the wine and beer selection is impressive and includes some high end wines. Like, very high end wines. The kosher meat department is small. The regular meat department almost always has a full leg of lamb and up to a 6 – 7 pound chicken. Big chicken. Great pork but gross seafood. The produce area is small. Good selection of high quality Asian and Hispanic items. Late Friday afternoon the closer it gets to sundown, more and more men in yarmulkes hurry through usually getting fresh rolls or flowers for the Sabbath table. It’s loud and fun and then ssshh its gone quiet. Sharing food has been a way to celebrate, to comfort, to commemorate, and to nourish for centuries. To fast is to feel the sacrifice of others.(Running out of chips and salsa does not count as fasting. Usually.) It’s humanity. That’s why I go to this Tom Thumb when I can.

Great place for my family grocery shopping. I always like going there because its so easy to find everything and the staff is isually very helpful. I use the farmacy for my wife’s prescription and there are never any mistakes nor do i have to wait in line. Only thing that prevents me from 5 starring it is that the prices are a bit too much on certain items. Even with the card, aometimes it feels like they could work it a bit better. All and all a great place.

I personally believe this is by far the best Tom Thumb out of the entire Richardson/North Dallas area. Very clean & well stocked grocery store. I normally go to the locations on Preston or East Lovers Ln, but from now on I will keep coming back to this location. What sticks out the most in my mind about this particular store is the amount of unique items they have which I can’t find anywhere else.

This is a nice store with lots of great items. The staff has always been friendly, however be sure and check and recheck your cash register receipt for errors. They will correct the error IFYOUCATCH it, otherwise you may get back home and see that the sale price you thought you paid is not on the receipt. This does not happen every shopping experience, but enough that it is annoying. Prices at Tom Thumb are certainly not the best in town so you don’t need to pay more than ad prices.

Very impressed by this Tom Thumb location. A very large store with excellent selection, including a Kosher market. The bakery is quite good and their ready-made meal section is convenient and quick. A major plus which I have taken way too much advantage of is their sushi. Now, grocery store sushi is not typically something I would bother rating in Unilocal, but this Tom Thumb’s sushi is quite amazing, as grocery store sushi goes. If you’re in a bind for a quick sushi fix, grabbing one of their rainbow rolls will do you good.

Love this little neighborhood Tom Thumb… the bakers make a mean brownie. The staff is friendly. They don’t have as big of an item pool as Campbell & Coit’s TT, but that’s okay… it’s only been 2 or 3 times I’ve run into that.
