This place is really great. The coffee is amazing, the people are so nice, the music is killer… I can’t say enough about how much I love this place. Definately recommend!

If your going to charge $ 2.50 for a chocolate dipped donut, it should be served fresh. Obviously State Farm brought Chicago prices to Richardson. Simply not worth the asking price.

Great doughnuts and friendly service. I had the pink boa. A cakey, fluffy doughnut iced with pink vanilla frosting showered with coconut flakes. I loved it. The prices are a little high, but this is not your greasy glazed doughnut shop. Give it a try if you’re in the neighborhood.

The donut itself was pretty good — the lemon iced old fashioned. It wasn’t sickly sweet and definitely had the bite of lemon. Overall it felt a bit pricey for one donut. Didn’t try their coffee but maybe one day I’ll be back for a coffee and a donut.

Tried this place out today after hearing details in the ticket. It is tucked away but would recommend it. Had a white chocolate mocha and was really good.

We got here 45 minutes after they opened. Plenty of variety. Apple fritter and maple bar… BOOM! Drip coffee is hot and very good. Atmosphere is casual and clean. Service was immediate and friendly. Of course $ 16 dollars for 4 donuts and coffee is a bit on the expensive end… but since it’s not all the time it’s worth the trip.

We all had coffee, soooo good ! We all got different things and all were amazing. Service was great!!! Don’t know why they are getting bad reviews. Will be back for sure!!!

Complete waste of perfectly good retail space in the CityLine developments. Awful donuts that look and taste like they’ve been sitting on the counter for too long. You can probably find a similar alternative at your local 7 – 11, for way cheaper, if you’re into stale and cold donuts. Oh, and the soft serve is definitely not worth what they charge(per swirls, wtf) — quality is that of what you get at Chinese buffets. Why is this place here?

Over-priced, way too sweet, and the customer service is terrible. I wasn’t greeted, and had to get their attention to help me. It’s no wonder there were only two customers in the place, and they are hiring.

I made a mistake — I ignored all the poor reviews and still came to this place. Folks — it really is as bad as everyone says it is. Here’s why: 1) They don’t make donuts on site. Yes, you read that correctly! They make them in their downtown location and the donuts are delivered to Richardson. That is so lame! 2) The person working at the counter gave us the wrong kind of donut — we didn’t discover it until we sat down. We returned it to her for an exchange. You know what she did? She put the old donut back in the case and gave us the right one. Isn’t that unsanitary? What if I was a dirty person and sneezed all over that donut? 3) The product is very dry and cakey. You’ll eat one and then feel like a slug. 4) They’re expensive. Let’s put it into perspective. We spent $ 2 for 6 donut holes for my daughter. For that same price, you can get 20 donut holes at our local donut shop and they’re light and fluffy! I get that the location is great but if you’re looking for taste and value, I would skip this place.

First the positives: This place is in a great location, with a décor and atmosphere that is a nice change of pace. I ordered the lemon glazed old fashioned doughnut, and my wife had the chai doughnut. But were really good. The best part of our experence there was Amber. She came out to our table and asked if we wanted refills, which we did. She also asked if there was anything else we needed. She was full of energy and awesome. I would give five stars to Amber. The negatives: The only real dowside was that we were told they don’t offer caramel sryup. That’s odd since caramel syrup is so popular.

I let out a squeal when I unexpectedly came upon Hot Pot doughnuts. I visited the original in Seattle about 7 years ago. We were greeted instantly upon entering and spent a few moments choosing our doughnuts from the case. Top Pot also serves coffee. For those like me who enjoy milk alternatives — they have soy, rice, coconut AND almond milk. I settled on an almond milk latte and a salted caramel doughnut. Both absolutely delicious. Wonderful friendly service and top notch fried dough and coffee. I’ll be back when in the area!

My coffee was way too hot and my old fashion donut was way too salty. The service is okay. It took about 5 minutes for them to heat up a bagel breakfast sandwich. I hate to say it but I’d rather go to Starbucks then come back here.

Not bad. I always prefer a hole in the wall to Starbucks(because I’m old school hipster or something, I guess). Anyhow, the iced coffee here left much to be desired. It was not particularly strong or smooth. However, I had just ridden the DART to this area to pick up something at a friends. My guess is it is far better than the Starbucks they have inside the office buildings there. I would go back if I was getting off the train, but would not choose it if I was choosing a place to drive to.

This is a great place for Doughnuts, no kidding, even Howard Shultz of Starbucks fame bought glazed old fashioned doughnuts and apple fritter doughnuts from Top Pot to fill up his chain across the country. Very glad to see that after its start in the state of Washington, Top Pots next stop is in the state of TX. Big D has at least three Top Pots. This place gets 5 Stars for the Doughnuts and a round Doughnut for Service and awkward Store Layout. The store has a small display shelf for doughnuts, which I thought was the main theme. No possibility of having any bakery item be warmed up, they don’t have a oven /micro wave like Starbucks do. Baristas are not as fast and friendly as an average Starbucks, So if you are use to Starbucks level of service or amenities, you may be disappointed. But if you can compromise on service and coffee, you are in for a great treat of doughnuts that Starbucks made famous. It’s funny that when«S» fell off service level went with it. Highly recommended, don’t miss the doughnuts, take out and don’t sweat the service or coffee.

Starbucks is way better. My first trip here cost about $ 8 for a latte and donut. They donut was cakey, and dry. The latte was ok, but not great. This place is never crowded, so youdont have to wait long for your order. The lattes are very inconsistent. On my second trip I decided to get the same latte and a chai tea glazed donut. The donut, again cakey, was dry but the glazed helped it out. The latte was horrible made. There was too much syrup added to it, and I couldn’t finish it. There have been other people who complain about there inconsistencies. Usually, if you can find out who makes your coffee perfectly, you can stick with that one; but they all have a problem making the coffee just right. I honestly don’t think I’ll ever be going back. I can get better donuts from Shipley’s, for cheaper too. And better coffee from McDonald’s.

I’m divided on this place. But as much as I try, I can’t go beyond mediocre. I visited my first Top Pot in Seattle a few years back. I recall really liking the donuts and coffee. I tried a couple donuts and a coffee here at the City Line(Richardson) location. The initial wait was about two minutes, which seemed unreasonable considering there was just two customers ahead of me. Then they had register/computer problems so that delayed it further. The real bad part is the donuts… I had an old fashioned, which was too sweet and really dry. Also tried an apple fritter… very little apple flavor and it was also very dry. Coffee was good but not great… I cringe to think Starbucks coffee is better. Overall, I can’t say I’d come back, since I know too many other donut shops that are better. They do offer breakfast sandwiches and espresso type drinks. They’re price point is a bit high for my taste as well… makes swallowing a dry donut worse.

This location never has a good selection of doughnuts unless you come really early(before 10 am). Incredibly lame given their hours — they should close at noon. When they do actually have a decent selection of doughnuts, they are good. My favorites include the old fashioned(regular, chocolate) and the blueberry cake. Service vacillates between«can’t be bothered» and acceptable.

Donuts were great! Staff is still a little green, so service was not great. There is no music! It’s creepy quiet. Simple improvements for this new location.

I wanted to like this place based on social media and radio buzz. But I’ve been twice now, and the most I can muster is «meh». The donuts are sort of dry, and I feel, overpriced for the quality. The service is inconsistent as well. The first time we went in there was more than enough staff to help take your order. Today we went in and waited over 5 minutes before being waited on — we finally just left. The lines are set up so that people coming in to by coffee can get serviced before donut buyers, especially if they are low on staff which appeared to be the case today. Save your time and money and give a mom and pop place a try. Not as trendy but probably a better overall experience.
